OK, gonna run and get one tomorrow.

If that doesn't work I'll have to buy a new PSU. If I get a new PSU then I might as well get one that will run 3 cards, so I will have to buy 2 more 7970s.....lol  ... then a second rig ... and ........ I might be better off just buying the dam coins, but that wouldn't be as much fun.

Just plugged in my XFX 7970 using 2 6 pin pcie power cables and it won't work!

Has anyone tried using the 6-8 pin pcie adapter cable and had good results? My psu is a 750w Thermaltake with only 2 6 pin pcie connectors. The 7970 has one 6 pin connector and one 8 pin connector.



Yes, i have used them. it will work for you. 

but if you plan on added another card, may i suggest a seasonic 750. it will have 4 pci 8 connectors out of the box
