I know this is the "Registration Thread", but I just saw someone asking something here.
Would you mind adding a current min/max bet feature on the site for the competition? (as I understand it depends on the current bankroll).
R: I'm afraid that would require major changes in the direcbet platform. The interface for betting on directbet is the same for everyone, either they are for the competition or not, so we can't just add a system exclusive to the competition. It is simple math, so although we understand the requires additional work for the users, we believe that it is not to much work.
Well, it is not that hard to calculate it by yourself since there is already a "current bankroll" column, but I noticed in the last competition that many people were complaining about this (they had bet more than their current 5% and believed that the system was broken).
R: I understand that, but that only happen because users did not read the rules carefully. The main reason why we can't implement that system is explained above. And like you said it's not hard to calculate the bet stakes, but it would be quite hard for directbet to change their interface just for the competition, and on something so simple for users. Hope you understand.
Another question, if someone bets before the competition officially starts on an event marked to start within the competition period, would it count? What about bets within the period whose associated event will take place after the competition has ended?, does it affect in any way the results? (it reduces your current bankroll, but has it something to do with the ROI%?)
R: Our script only counts bets placed, not settled after the competition started, so if the event starts after the competition started please place them after the competition is live, otherwise it will not count, even if it settled after the competition has started.
As for the end of the competition as I explained in the previous one, we can't wait for a bet to be settled and then announce the prizes (imagine if someone has made a bet on the winner of a footall league. We can't a few months to announce the winners). So after the competition is over, I will make post the winners, and that will be final. There is no problem in doing this, as ROI% is only affected after the bet is settled and not placed, so you are not losing any "points" for those bets that were placed but will only be settled after the competition has ended.
