You've got a point Spoetnik, but we differ in the way we look at the victims of this scam.
Let's put in in this way. Everybody knows that driving a car is risky, but when I see a car accident happening, I act helpfull instead of mumbling "loosers" and drive on.
I also had my share of being scammed in cryptocurrency for the last years and my red flag is already raised when hearing the word ICO alone, but this is not about me or my lost investment (that was only a small amount), but about the bad name cryptocurrency in general already has.
This Lithium project was the last straw that broke the camel for me.
Pretty much all of the info posted here *COULD* have been found if you guys actually checked *BEFORE* spending your BTC's on another ICO scam.

I agree that the red flags were overwhelming, but the identity of Carlos aka [email protected] as the scammer, connecting this scam to his history of setting up failed coins and exchanges, could not be found beforehand.

@mvl
could not be found beforehand.. you say ?
Well.... uhh... maybe you guys should find out FIRST WHO the person is you are making a millionaire ?

We don't know who he is.. is a red-flag (not a defense)

THAT IS how to "stop" scams Wink

Yes Spoetnik, your message is clear by now and I think all of us agree investing in such an obvious scam was stupid. There is no use in repeating your rant over and over again. Let's focus on what can be done to stop scammers like this.

I bet all the guys ripped off with this will or already have bought into the next ICO in the list from the ANN section.

*Enough* red-flags ?

You are all not LOOKING for them.. THAT is the point.
You are "looking" for profits.
You are looking for a stable stream of revenue not a legit project.

Problem is there are no laws stopping the scammers so the scene is corrupt and rigged and unfair.

If Poloniex wanted to say hey fuck you we close and we're spending your money.. THEY CAN !
They have every right to do it too.
And you guys can't say shit about it.

..you chanted free market after all.

Anyway good luck people.. you need it.
I don't think i have anything more to say here.
I watch this crap go round and round.. i doubt anything will change soon.

It's a pity because reputable projects DESERVE your valuable support guys.

Hopefully you guys will smarten up and be more cautious in the future.

I've lost my bounties  Cheesy suck...

A normal Altcoin with a legitimate developer that has learned basic code would have been better then this and probably would of offered real bounties too if they done a realistic Premine for Giveaways + Help like what this SCAM did, I would invest into another shitcoin before an ICO with Vapourware.

I wonder how those people are doing that installed the Windows Wallet or Android App..... I think people forgot about them... ? They could contain hidden Malware and most probably do.

I already went through this discussion heavily when Cryptsy was "hacked".

Kind of funny you all found that AFTER huh ?  Roll Eyes

I am pointing out how sooooooooooooooooo many people have no fucking clue scams are permitted here.

I am pointing how they cry to the mods to get rid of the topic etc.. then i laugh at them because they are fucking idiots.

It should be obvious after being here for even a small amount of time.
It also should be obvious that the mod's etc here can't really do anything UNLESS they Police contact theymos about it.

And are you guys actually going to pull the we want a lawless free market routine then cry for the cops AGAIN ?

The silly ass hypocrisy in crypto is bloody mind blowing.

Bottom Line:
ICO = SCAM

Why the hell do you all think i keep bitching about them and have never been involved with one or owned any ICO "tokens" ?

Nope.. contrary to popular belief it is NOT because i am jealous of your ROI'z.  Cheesy

So what are you guys going to do ? Call the cops ? HAHHAHAHHAH  Grin
Tell them you are "Investing" in crypto currency ICO "tokens" for profit but the shady ANON dude on the internet forum took your money's and he won't give it back  Cry

..the SWAT team is double checking their KIT right now.. they will be busting in dudes doors within the hour STAY TUNED PEOPLE !

Just suck it up Kidiot Investards and just go do what what we all know you are going to do.. keep buying into silly ass retarded little ICO schemes (for profit)

Move along here.. nothing to see. (but there is lots to see in the scam section if you got off your ass's)

REALITY CHECK:
Stupid people should not be handing money to strangers on the Interweb'z

@Gizfreak
You just figured out that scam coins are not against the rules here ?
You have a legendary account and you didn't know that ? What did you BUY your account ? LOL
Am I talking about Theymos's rules here? In no way. I'm talking about scamming people for fiat money.
And FYI assuming I bought this account is understandable but far from the truth.

@JimmyRecard  how do you think about application.id & opens.id owner email [email protected] i think same like fikihafana account

All these users have a link, I just look..... also it seems Giveaway lists have a fair few of the same users on each one posting not far off from each other or PM'ing by the look of their list numbers, I might need to contact the people responsible for making these lists...
You seem to know something about the person who did this fraud. if you know why you do not track or you telitikan from the beginning he made a thread to the end he disappeared, I'm sure he still saw the situation here and he still has another bitcointalk account to monitor the situation here.

He does not even need to login to read the topics here (no account needed)

But i agree with the vague comments.. that can get ugly and confusing quick and make you look paranoid.

@Gizfreak

The logistics of moderating them would be colossal.

Problem is this forum has provided you all the freedom.. to abuse the fuck out of it by being greedy leeches diving on sketchy ass ICO's in the hope's of reaping profits from late comers by dumping on them.
Pretty much a bunch of Pyramid / MLM / PONZI scheme whiners here crying this scheme failed on them.

Well guess what ?
You dumb fucking losers deserve it.
If you can't read the rules here and even figure out scams are not against the rules then tough luck bud.
Maybe its time you idiots grow the fuck up ?

Maybe quit buying into shit you know damn well is probably a hollow shallow worthless little profit scheme ?
Of course you are going to get scammed.. duh idiots.  Roll Eyes

Are you morons going to learn anything from this ?
Did the mod's have to tell you there was a scam section here ? Read it before investing BTC ?
Stupid ? yeah.. you are LOL

You will all be happily buying into the next ICO scheme i have no doubt..
And be happy as a pig in shit counting your ROI's or.. screaming scam if you did not profit from it.

Sorry i don't have much sympathy for you idiots here.. you have all been warned endlessly after all.

Before this thread turns into one big conspiracy theory, let me remind you that we need facts and not wild guesses and accusations.
That's not what scambusting is about.
I contacted NameCheapHost to see if I can get some credentials for the owner of the domain thelithiumproject.org, as the whois info is shielded with the use of WhoisGuard.
Not that I am confident to get them that easy, but it's a start.
Today I will also be looking into another trace, but that's too premature to talk about.
I'll keep you informed.

Oh yeah and "mprep" chooses to do nothing as I got this PM from him:

Possible scams aren't moderated (see subforum stickies for info)

I hope you'll be successful in doing that, but namecheap is not very keen in giving information especially those that are using WhoisGuard,I hate the accusations part where the one getting the blames are the supporters, investors and marketers, while the real culprit is enjoying all the loot.

Just opened a thread at the Scam Accusations sub forum, as I think that's a more appropriate place.
Feel free to have a look.

If they related to each other, most likely xlth dev accounts not purchased or hacked but real from indonesia and most likely they have an big networks in cryptocurremcy

Let's not publish accusations based on gut feeling. Let's stick to facts. It is in nobody's interest if vague accusations that may or may not be linked to the XLTH scam are fogging this topic. Remember that the goal is to find the guy who pulled this scam. The people who lost money to XLTH are not helped by posting gut-feeling accusations.
