I saw Monero had a nice rise in price since beginning of the year. And it's one of the top 10.

Hmm, this coin looks quite interesting.

I will watch.

Price increase again hmmm nice

Doomed to see the future and unable to prevent it

Sorry, should have added:

I guess it's been a while since that quote was aired in this thread.

Why is it that everytime I read "The thing about smart mother fuckers is that sometimes, they sound like crazy mother fuckers to stupid mother fuckers" I hear it in my head with Samual L Jackson's voice?

Couldn't get it out of my mind so I guess it's from this. Cheesy

what is the official or safe wallet on line to store monero coins ?

There are NO safe online wallets period, even using a lite wallet puts you at risk to a MITM attack. If you use a lite wallet then make sure you trust the node.

MyMonero has had a few users that lost large quantities of coins so like any online wallet if you must use it just use it for pocket change. There have also been phishing sites similar to mymonero.com so make sure you are the correct url by using a bookmark to get there, you don't want a mistype to compromise your wallet.

yes , thanks

Wow, is mymonero not safe? How did people end up losing it?
That makes me real worried now, dang

The issue isn't with MyMonero itself. The service never sees your private key and thus can't steal your coins. The danger is if you misspell the domain you might end up on a scam site that looks like the real one, only it steals your key and empties your wallet. Also, if you log into MyMonero from a malware infected computer your private key could be logged as well.

Basically, typing your private key onto an internet-connected machine will always carry risks.

This and or accessing anything for a phone.

Ill also add never ever use a free wireless. Or even avoid wireless that's not secure.

The thing is you never know if its the real wifi or a person with a laptop impersonating the wifi. So you join, log into banking and boom they can capture your session and carry it on when you log out.

Hotels etc. its all the same the wifi name hotel guest wifi might well be just some guy snooping for suckers.

There's a crazy motherfucker out there saying that NO WIFI is safe...

Why crazy? He sounds quite lucid and sane to me.

I ve been wanting a offline executable wallet for ages, one which can sign a txn offline and just needs to connect to broadcast it.

Or a desktop light wallet

https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/68qt9f/reminder_how_to_use_offline_signing/

There will be hardware wallets soon as well (Ledger, Trezor).
