told that RingCT was a non-sense on not even working, what are you thinking abt that ?

If you look at any XMR blockexplorer you can easily see that it's working.

Hey XMR fam, have you checked Sumokoin ANN ? It is a fork from XMR with a very low marketcap right now (under 300k dollars) with four active core devs and a sick GUI wallet (not bad for a 2 months old coin btw)
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-sumo-sumokoin-digital-cash-for-highly-confidential-transactions-1905086

It looks like a promising fork such as AEON, maybe a good opportunity to hedge the portfolio, I own some

And I can't wait to see some improvement on Kovri by XMR devs, best anonymous coin so far (and recent Alphabay situation proves it right)

Btw on Sumokoin telegram (that you may find on their thread), XVG (Verge) developper came here and told that RingCT was a non-sense on not even working, what are you thinking abt that ?
Anyway, hope XMR and his forks are gonna do great

Exactly, I confirm your two remarks!

SUMO is a very nice fork of Monero, with a good developer team, a very good wallet, and a growing community.

And Verge's developers criticized Monero for saying that your technology was not anonymous. Apparently, Verge's only goal: to attract noobs and be recognized as aggressive and incompetent Kiss

Can anyone explain to me what this is doing?..

Normal as long as it doesn't happen too much. When two miners find a block at close to the same time, nodes will temporarily disagree on the correct fork. That isn't resolved until one becomes conclusively longer than the other. Your node is reporting that it is switching between candidate chains.

Ok, I wasn't mining or anything like that so I thought it looked rather odd. Thanks for the explaination  Smiley

Has anyone ever tried to sync with the network at a speed of ~0.33mb/s? Bitcoin syncs fine, monero not so much, was wondering if it was just me?

You can try https://github.com/monero-project/monero/pull/2149 which should be much friendlier on slow network.

I often use a slow connection that will not sync at all unless I run monerod with the "--block-sync-size 20" option.

I want to try Monero mining.
In nanopool website
https://xmr.nanopool.org/help

it says

-o ssl://xmr-eu1.nanopool.org:14433
-u YOUR_XMR_ADDRESS.YOUR_PAYMENT_ID.YOUR_WORKER_NAME/EMAIL
-p z
-ftime 1

I use poloneix for Exchange but I cant find Payment ID there exist only Monero Deposit Address.
Anyone know where is Payment ID ?

Poloniex recently started using integrated Monero addresses (integrated means it's combination of a Monero address with a Payment ID). So, you'd use:

Code:
Mining to local wallet without payment-ID, with worker and email:
ADDRESS.WORKER/EMAIL

Which would look like:

Code:
-o ssl://xmr-eu1.nanopool.org:14433
-u YOUR_XMR_ADDRESS.YOUR_WORKER_NAME/EMAIL
-p z
-ftime 1

There have been a few reports of Polo having problems so I'd send a small test amount to your address there before sending anything substantial.

Thank you man.

You should really mine to your own wallet. Besides the fact that poloniex has been weird lately with XMR deposits and withdraws, using an exchange to store your funds is just like using a bank.

Can you tell me why there is not Calculator? Because price is change every 10-30seconds so how i will know how much XMR are in BTC?

I prefer the Digital Currency Widget, and Blockfolio app.

This one works well on my Android phone -
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=st.brothas.mtgoxwidget&hl=en

Otherwise you can get the same information from your exchange if they trade the Monero / Bitcoin pair.
