I am loading up an old wallet from 2014 to see what was in it and I found about 120 or so Monero.  I was going to transfer this to an exchange but my output says:

Error: Failed to find a way to create transactions. This is usually due to dust which is so small it cannot pay for itself in fees, or trying to send more money than the unlocked balance, or not leaving enough for fees

So I looked at the log and it says:

WARN    wallet.simplewallet   src/simplewallet/simplewallet.cpp:2491   not enough money to transfer, available only 123.082344170105, transaction amount 128.195681160000 = 123.000000000000 + 5.195681160000 (fee)

So is there REALLY an over 5 XMR fee for sending Monero or am I doing something wrong?  I mean if that is the fee for sending transactions I don't know how Monero is still alive.  I am guessing that I am doing wrong on my part.  Thanks for your help.

When is the next release?

Latest stable/CLI was released just a few posts up I believe?

dEBRUYNE said the next GUI beta 2 to address the HF should be out shortly, like the next day or so?

Unfortunately, there were some issues with 0.10.3, which have been fixed in the new release candidate (0.10.3.1). As a result, the GUI Beta 2 release has been postponed for a few days.

Ah, thanks again for the update, looking forward to it! Wink

Please help !  I have a monero node running on a local server and want to connect to the server with "monero-wallet-cli --daemon-host x.x.x.x"  but it says "wallet failed to connect to daemon ...".   Am I missing something ?  Both Devices are on the same LAN. Do I have to allow the remote RPC connect on the server somehow ?

It is now off by default as open is a security issue.

"failed to parse block from blob"

Is this bad?  Shouldn't we run from The Blob?

Please hold off updating this, some people reported a bug with block/tx validation.

OK. Hodling off. It's a good thing that I'm slow at updating stuff.

Again, this update is for "CLI" only, right? If so, will the time come when CLI and GUI will eventually run off of a single universal daemon? The current daemon segregation is very confusing but then again, I'm an archetypal non-tech-savvy dude.

yeah, you need to run monerod with some flags to enable its rpc to hear stuff outside of its host machine, if that makes any sense.

off the top of my head, its

./monerod --rpc-bind-ip 0.0.0.0 --confirm-external-bind

you can see the commands in the help of the monerod load

./monerod --help
