Cool! Price is a little bit cheaper than it used to be some time ago.
Now just I am expecting the Aminorex signaling where is the bottom.
At least coffee beans might be a good place to invest money into since Brazil and Vietnam are having poor harvests which will push the price up.

Is there someone who can explain the 12% loss?

As I wrote, look to the lending market. A lot of short positions have been opened. These are going to be closed soon + money which flew regulary into XMR will bring it in 5 to 10 days above 0200 i guess. Its just a matter of time. Keep calm Smiley
Would you (or any of the others) consider BTC's performance in the next couple weeks a wildcard toward this happening?

Of course it is potentially, as are new kids on the block like Zcash etc.   Maybe...

However, fundamentally XMR has an upside with way more room than BTC with all its issues and it's solved a lot of issues BTC suffers from. BTC isn't going away so by all means have some of both and sleep soundly, but I think dumping XMR now is foolhardy.

Blood on the streets...?  Buy.

its on special as far as I'm concerned. I can hear the voices : 'Remember when it dropped to 015? Wow imagine we would have bought then ...' Avoiding the 'could have', 'should have' I wish I did moment which will go live npt long from now. And Zcash: anyone seen the Bitmex futures? > 0.1 btc Lol. That is already so pumped its ready to pop before even go live

I call it a discount.

Others call it a falling knife - but the brave will catch it with sure hands.  Personally I am buying, this is the chance to scoop back up the coins I sold on the way up... much cheaper.

If you believe, buy - if you don't, sell.  I believe we are oversold now, you need to decide for yourself.  For me, 0.015 or lower is just too cheap to miss.

The price drop to 0.015 is a little scary, but, to be honest,
I think its actually a good time to buy. That price seems way under-valued.
People looking to make a quick buck are going to sell.
Hopefully things stabilize over the next few days.

Bids throttled back severely, Asks way up.  Thus, the price falls.

This is not the type of news that's going to add buying pressure to XMR.

Everything that enables use of XMR is beneficial to the economy and utility of XMR.  If anything it adds selling pressure, in the near-term.  But growing the economy and utility of XMR is much more important in the long-run than any near-term variations.

The volatility of XMR is an artifact of being under-priced.  When the price is more closely aligned to the fundamentals, at a market cap at least an order of magnitude higher, then volatility will be much closer to BTC.

Volatility is more of a problem for the unit of account use-case than it is for the store of value use-case.  It is unavoidable in any instrument which appreciates by a factor of 200x over 30 months.  When volatility is so heavily biased to the up-side, it not harmful to the store of value use-case.

Reminder:  You can use XMR anywhere you can use BTC, via xmr.to or shapeshift.io

The Japanese company offering utility bill payment via BTC is coincheck.com, which recently introduced XMR in their exchange platform, which offers JPY-XMR.

This is not the type of news that's going to add buying pressure to XMR.

The ability to seamlessly spend xmr to any btc address is an important selling point to those of us who regard XMR as a superior store of value and speculative instrument but have occasional bills to pay.

Yeah, the two or three of you who thinks XMR is a superior store of value AND want to pay bills with it.

XMR could be a superior form of cash compared to BTC with the promise it holds, but it's hard to justify it as a superior store of value when it is far less secure than BTC, more prone to attacks and a lot more volatile than BTC. I can facilitate a mini crash / panic myself with only 200BTC

Sure but the things you are mentioning are only the result of the network effect. One could argue, if XMR becomes the promise it holds it will be as secure as BTC... volatility is no coin spec but traders choice.
