Here we go people... The final move to $500+....  Shocked

Or, just to $420, followed by a bit of a nap...  Thus far, one anomalous 10k green 30 min candle.

A lot of top cryptocurrencies will roll out some major features in the coming weeks and months. In the case of Monero, a lot of exciting developments are on the horizon for 2018. Although there is no official timeline for some of these developments, certain features and integrations have been in development for several months.

Dear Aminorex,

I find your economic analysis around XMR really inspiring and detailed (i made a lot of research around the web but still can't find any better economic analysis). So first of all thank you for sharing. I will now dive into the subject:

Total market cap of crypto is now growing at around 20-30bn per day and I can't figure out how long this could last. At this rate we will reach 2T in no time. At some point this will probably burst and unfortunately affect also XMR since market risk cannot be avoided. From what I understand reading your posts is that these are normal cycles in crypto that repeat over time. My concern is that this time the dimensions are way bigger in relation to time, we went from total market cap of 200bn to 800bn in 3 months. I'm not saying that the market will crash at 2T as you can hear many people making comparisons with the market cap of Gold which is around 6T. What scares me is that all crypto shitty coins are growing 10x and people are buying into them without even knowing the name of the coin. I can't figure out for how long this game of hot potato will last. I am trying to understand who are the last people getting in that will get burnt, right now even average Joe is buying into crypto after hearing about Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ripple and Tron spectacular returns. Average Joe is also greedy and stupid but not dumb so he buys into coins that have very low prices without looking at the market cap and circulating supply. He goes on Binance (slightly more sophisticated average Joe) and buys the low priced ones. He hopes that tomorrow another average Joe is willing to buy at a higher price. At some point the game ends since tomorrow there are no more buyers.
Is there any analysis that could be made to understand how many more average Joes are still left out that want to join?
How are institutional investors playing the game now? How is smart money playing the game?
From the rumours ETFs could come out soon so that could bring even more liquidity to the market and could possibly delay the bubble burst, is this the temporary solution to more liquidity?

Anyone can feel free to answer my questions.

I knew ADA was about to moon very hard because of everyone

Have you compiled ADA from source to Linux? I will try it. There are instructions.

Is there any other alt you recommend? You can PM me also if you do not want to share secrets here. Grin

Sometimes I swear I come online just to read all of this and feel good/bad about myself, depending on how intimate I am with the project or coin. But at least with Monero I have experienced what it means to hold a coin that flows beneath the surface, and then jumps up and attracts or extends all manner of people.

ZOMG overprice and hype, and then regret, and then sitting back and checkout the competition. This is the besterest ANON koin and now from the moon to earth and beyond!

Let's keep her steady guys, and see others sweat.

Yea i doubt that very much. Wishful thinking in light of knowing better.
The competition for monero is rising very rapidly, both in community and technology.
It's fair to say that now Wraith is active on Verge, it has technically surpassed Monero. And they already had a much bigger community behind them.
And then we have Spectre being technically similar but going environmentally friendly with PoS.
Tbh i can only see Monero go down from here, probably back to around 0.008-0.012 btc levels.

Yea yea, i know you're all going to hate on me now and say they are shitcoins.
Try bringing some solid arguments this time instead of just brainless bashing.

gtfo & stop talking your nonsense ... still waiting for your paper on why moneros small inflation is worse than bitcoins way... bring science to the table please if you talk your crap.
And calling wraith technical superios is showing that you got no clue what you are talking at all... just another duck talking shit on monero.

You are the one who should start to bring solid arguments ... we are all waiting for your enlightment

[...] you did argue that TOR linked cryptos such as ONION or VERGE could surpass [...]
I don't even know why what the big deal is with those coins. You can run Bitcoin and Monero through Tor, am I missing something?

You are  missing moon logic.

Moon logic states that the lower the market cap, the more easily a coin can grow and claims of "Best Privet Coin Ever!" are always true and developers would never lie or exagerate.

if you look at the state of affairs on almost every exchange, you can see that the prices for all the coins went to the top. I think it's very difficult to predict Which coin will be more promising in the future, because it all looks like an unreal bubble.

I think it's easy to predict.  You just need to adjust your parameters.  Look for established pattern of development and growth.  There's probably not more than 5 with serious intent.  And of course only one has a Monero Research Lab, and community funding.  Speaking of,  rehrar needs some love:

Why don't we have a QR code on the page to make this easier?

Can't wait to see what Kovri will do for XMR's status in the Bestestest Privuhsee Coyn EVUR circles! Cool

I am willing to foretell this. Smiley

Kovri will handily extend Monero's position as the leading privacy coin.  This will do good things for our image, press, utility, and ultimately value.

But in the circles you mention?  We will hear cries of "Too little too late", "We already had this", "The Monero community are a bunch of bullies".  And so on.

It's the cross you bear when you are #1.

Troll species going extinct here or what? Getting nervous a little. Step up please, I want to see that troll strength index increase, so I could expect another price jump. Walonek where you at bro???

Troll behavior is meant to take advantage of your emotions. There's not nearly enough fear right now for them to capitalize on. However, when the price falls below 50% of the ATH, the noise will start to increase. In a way, trolls are a representation of our inner uncertainty, which grows stronger as external reinforcement declines (deep, isn't it?).

One you have seen the cycle a few times it is kind of uncanny.  Early on I would attribute this to paranoia or confirmation bias.  But like I said... watch the pattern enough times and it becomes pretty obvious.

Can confirm my independent observation of this pattern.

Not only in XMR; I knew ADA was about to moon very hard because of everyone (including people like coblee, who should know better than to FUD a possible replacement for PoW) screeching about how "overpriced" and "hyped" it was.

The cries of "zomg overpriced" were just sublimated self-hatred for being too lazy to watch the Ouroboros video and thereby missing the boat.

Same with XMR.  The whiners and trolls are simply self-identifying losers who can't comprehend the concept of fungibility (or grokked the Monero ethos too late for Massive Gainz).

Can't wait to see what Kovri will do for XMR's status in the Bestestest Privuhsee Coyn EVUR circles! Cool

Call a spade a spade. The fact that we have healthy enough governance to routinely hard fork is amiable. We should pronounce it proudly. Call it a routine hard fork.

People are just basically idiots there is nothing we can do about it but dumb things down.
I don't understand what you are saying... ELI5?

Feel like that is too advanced for many--maybe a ELI3-6months.
