We have an update on this issue!

Thank you Kn_os for your previous post which was completely right!

Bithumb is requiring a specific flag tfFullyCanonicalSig to be set for all XRP transactions . This flag protects the sender against transaction malleability exploits. There is no benefit in the receiver checking for this flag, but we have opted into using the flag to help our clients avoid further funding issues at Bithumb.

Your withdrawal dont work perfectly since, I have submitted the tag, and that the same transfer from other exchanges are never subject to that kind of issues.

Edit : some other members pointed some technical issues that may cause this issue, and it is something kraken is not doing good by submitting the transactions to the ripple network.

Please raise the issue to your engineering team... if you have one...


Hi Ilanoh. We have looked into this and there are no technical issues with our withdrawals. Please make sure you're including the correct tag on all transfers. If you specified the correct tag and the funds were not credited at the other exchange you would need to contact that exchange to find out why the technical issue is still happening on their end. We have clients withdrawing funds to exchanges every day with no issues.

Please note that you can find the details of your destination tag on a block explorer. If you specified a tag but it was not included, you would see that on the block explorer. If you double check and the correct tag was added, this is an issue with the receiving exchange.

Kraken_Septimus. I also didnt get my 6443 XRP to bithumb. it's about a few hours already. My transfer from Bithumb which happened simultaneously worked just fine and i got the deposit within 2 minutes.

I do not want to wait 3 months for my money. Please do not blame me or others for not having entered deposit tag. That is insulting. Please restore the XRP back to my account immediately. I already submitted a ticket just now.  You need to warn all your users not to transfer XRP to Bithumb. I cannot believe you guys have not fixed this issue after all these months.

Hi teslako. As previously stated to other clients here, this is not a Kraken issue. If you did not include a destination tag then you will need to contact Bithumb support. If you did include a tag and they did not credit the funds to your account, you will also need to contact Bithumb support. Ripple is a cryptocurrency and is irreversible. Since your funds have already been sent successfully, you will need to contact Bithumb support no matter what the scenario.

Ultimately, the decision to send the funds was yours, and we have no reason to warn you not to send them.

Mine is still missing from 12/23. Of course its now worth half what I paid for it and a fourth of what I would have sold it for a month ago. Dozen phone calls, 10 1:1 inquiries, nothing has worked. Not worth enough to wipe my ass with now.

Kracken and Bithumb probably split the stolen XRP. They both are crooks.

It's not fully kraken fault, all withdraw from kraken to home wallet and ALL another exchanges exept bithumb arrive without any problem. I guess problem in way how bithumb handle with transactions.

Single diffrence between xrp transactions sent from kraken and from another exchange is flag, kraken doas not add flag, rest exchange doas.

No clue what for bithumb may check this flag and think that transaction is invalid. It is my single assumption, since support doas not tell anything,
i realy hope that finnaly someone will deposite our money manualy.

Hi mwmanoh. I'm sorry to hear about the missing Ripple. Please navigate to Funding > Withdraw click the ID on your transaction and you'll find the Transaction ID. Check this on any explorer and if the funds are confirmed, they have already left Kraken. If that's the case, you'll need to speak with Bithumb support because Ripple is irreversible. If they have not been sent (no transaction ID) or they have not confirmed yet, please open a ticket here and escalate that ticket using this form. We certainly did not steal your funds and we would would not split your funds with another exchange. This sounds like a Bithumb wallet issue but please let us know if the funds have not been sent. Thanks for understanding.

Having same problem 04.01.2018 sent ripples on bithumb from kraken, transaction visible in ripplechart, successed, send on true adress with true tag, but 20+ days still didn't arrive on balance, 5+ tickets, nothing change.

Ok I got mine back. It got lost on January 9th and I received it yesterday (1/26). I sent numerous emails to Bithumb's contact2 email address with no reply (google translating to Korean as well). Then I sent like 5 1:1 tickets about a week ago, 3 international, 2 Korean (I copy pasted my international post into google translate again) and it showed up in my account. It just showed up I never once got in any sort of contact with support. I did get in contact with Kraken support and they provided me with the transaction ID and basically pointed the finger at Bithumb saying there was nothing they could do with a successful transaction on the explorer. On my 1:1 ticket I included the transaction ID, copy pasted the withdraw log in Kraken, and copy pasted the successful transaction on the explorer once I looked it up using the transaction ID. Then I prayed. Hope this helps some poor fool like me out there.

I don't think Kraken is the problem.  I have a deposit into Bithumb sing January 4th as well.  I believe it may be the way XRP and exchanges interact.  i ahve sent my XRP off of Kraken and onto HITBTC and it didnt show up right away; i had to put in a ticket on their system and then i saw it in the morning. 

Im going to take the advice of someone who posted on here and will do 1:1 tickets specifically, requesting for my deposit.  might get lucky.....who knows. right?!?!?

This is really frustrating and do not understand why this is such a big deal?!?!


Any luck yet? I am still missing my XRP deposit from Jan 4th. I call Bithumb everyday. Guy told me today it could take few months to get back. I filed a ticket and all they say is it is with the right department and I have to wait.

So im new to this but just wanted to provide some comfort to those who may be panicking. I had the same issue when I transferred XRP on Jan 4th. I got my money on Bithumb on Jan 16th. So just keep waiting and make sure you continue filing 1:1 ticket. I made sure to write one everyday. Maybe that did the trick :S

@snakeswatter could you go into a little more detail about the information in your 1:1 ticket? I included a copy of the explorer showing a successful transaction as well as the transaction id. Also, did they ever tell you they were giving it back or did it just show up?

After 12h my XRP was deposited OK. I did try smaller amount (20XRP) like before that and it worked just fine.
I guess the deposits from Kraken do somehow screw things up on Bithumb's side.

Has anyone recovered their money yet? Mine has been since December 22nd. No reply at all. phone support confirmed their was an issue with Kracken, That's it. I'm hoping it will get resolved in a month. although XPR took a 30% haircut because they delisted South Korea price info and everyone bailed thinking the sky was falling.

I have a same problem.  I sent 11,912 XRP on 12/23/2017 from Kraken to Bithumb.  As of today, 1/22/2018 I still did not get XRP into my Bithumb account.  However, the transaction and tags were entered correctly and processed.  For some reason, Bithumb is not able to deposit into my account.  Meanwhile it went up close to $4 and missed the selling point.  I called, wrote numerous times to Bithumb, but all I get a boiler reply.....   

I did send XRP from Bithumb to Kraken without any problem before I sent it back to Bithumb with all XRP amount

Still 11 days is way too long. I did send previously 3x deposit to bithumb (3x 25k XRP) and it was always done within 30 minutes... right now I'm waiting several hours and I'm sure now, it will not be easy to get my money deposited. I did not use kraken, it was bitstamp but never had problem with that. This is very annoying since I already have over 2 weeks ETH "on the way" to the same bithumb and there is no ETA al all.
So now I hope I will be lucky and get my XRP within month?

That's exactly what i am doing.  i first open a ticket and allow 24 hours to pass then i place a call to them trying to illicit more responses in order to get more information.  I also go to their twitter feed and demand to know what happened to my XRP deposited on the 4th of January.

We should get a list of people who are going through the same thing and make a unified voice.

same situation. ive recorded almost every conversation ive had with them most of them giving different stories.

1.) its in queue
2.) it takes time for bithumb to process the data from the blockchain
3.) bithum is backed up
4.) its not lost, hq just has to find it

whatever the case is i think everyone who has this issue come together and get a headcount. get all of our documents proving we sent the xrp to them and have not been given the xrp we sent. we can call the media or authorities to meet us at the bithumb office so bithumb will be pressured to handle the situation. we hand them a packet with all of our information and a letter stating we demand to know where our xrp went and to give us a time frame by a certain deadline. if they dont comply then we all file a class action lawsuit for negligence and punitive damages. considering they are already in the new for possible tax evasion and other questionable issues, they cant afford any more bad media coverage. especially losing people's assets.

whatever the case is i think everyone who has this issue come together and get a headcount. get all of our documents proving we sent the xrp to them and have not been given the xrp we sent. we can call the media or authorities to meet us at the bithumb office so bithumb will be pressured to handle the situation. we hand them a packet with all of our information and a letter stating we demand to know where our xrp went and to give us a time frame by a certain deadline. if they dont comply then we all file a class action lawsuit for negligence and punitive damages. considering they are already in the new for possible tax evasion and other questionable issues, they cant afford any more bad media coverage. especially losing people's assets.

Giving an update - January 15th.  no XRP.  I called their support line and the guy whom i spoke with was surprised at the amount of time (since January 4).  He placed me on hold and spoke to his manager where he told me she had sent an email to that dept.  So i dont know what is going on. 

i too have had the same excuses used with the exception of #4

i agree on the class action .... count me in!

If the funds were already sent and you can see a transaction ID on your Kraken account, this would be an issue with the receiving wallet.

If you believe there is an issue with your transaction being sent from Kraken you can open a ticket here and escalate that ticket using this form. Thank you all for understanding.

Deposited 75 XRP from Kraken to Bithumb on 1/8 and never received it. Filed an international ticket and Korean ticket with Bithumb and no answer. Their Customer Support is no longer answering their phone. Also filed a ticket with Kraken and no response. The blockchain shows the transaction was successful. Both exchanges are thieving bastards. I discourage anyone from doing business with them. Has anyone been able to get their XRP back?

When we're on the receiving end of a transaction, what's typically happened is a client has either omitted or made an error on the destination tag. Each exchange would have a different recovery process for these, so that's why we suggest contacting their support.

I do think this is worth at least raising the issue via some sort of ticket or whatever process you have with your developers so they can look into it. Looking at my Kraken => Bithumb TX vs. my offline wallet => Bithumb TX, the only difference appears to be in the different flags, and the last ledger sequence.

For reference, here's my two transactions, where the first is the missing one from Kraken and the second is the successful one from my offline wallet.

Has anyone recovered their money yet? Mine has been since December 22nd. No reply at all. phone support confirmed their was an issue with Kracken, That's it. I'm hoping it will get resolved in a month. although XPR took a 30% haircut because they delisted South Korea price info and everyone bailed thinking the sky was falling.

I filed a Korean missing deposit ticket. I did finally get a response from Bithumb's customer service on the ticket but it was just a form response essentially saying that they are looking into the matter but can't estimate how long it will take to be resolved.

I'm currently having the same issue. My XRP deposit from Kraken to Bithumb has gone missing despite the transaction having the correct account and destination tag. I've also had no response from Bithumb customer service in two days on the support ticket. Can anyone report whether they had this issue successfully resolved in a reasonable amount of time by Bithumb?

Try to stick with conventionnal exchange or try to do transfers with $10 equivalent of crypto before proceeding to more when doing something you never tries before...

That is the only way I guess one can be safe in this jungle

I'm having the same issues with two XRP deposits on eobot.com (one from cex.io and one from gatehub.com) I made almost 40h ago:

That is a total of: 352.728085 XRP that is missing from my account. The transactions were confirmed, the XRP is in their account but you did not release the amount to my tag even thought I used the tag.

Hey mates

Have the same issue here. Directly transfered 1'000 Xrp from Kraken to Bithump and they never arrived. Then I made a transfer of xrp from Kraken --> personal desktop wallet --> bithump and the transfer was done in around 5 minutes total.

I wrote a ticket to Kraken and they told me that I didn't included a destination tag (sure I did include it, I'm not a total idiot xD) - So I'm quite sure it is a technical issue on Krakens side while they are not able to implement the destination tag into transaction. I made them aware about my theorie around 10 min ago.

Without a destination tag bithumb is not able to allocate the xrp to your personal bithumb wallet, so I would try to make them aware about the destination tag which was missing in transaction.

My korean ticket was proceeded but still waiting the funds.

Please people also report this issue to kraken.

I'm sure the error come from them.

It is not possible that every exchanges are credited right on time but not kraken.

Create ticket at kraken I did it.

Having this problem right now. Deposited a moderate number of XRP from Kraken into Bithumb about 8 hours ago and it never arrived. I had a friend do the same from Binance and it showed up right on time. When viewing the blockchain entries for the transaction IDs, they both are correct, so I’m not sure it’s attributable to an incorrect tag entry.

I have filed three support tickets (two properly in Korean) with no reply yet despite the entire business day passing in Korea. It’s worth noting their phone support cannot actually render account-level support, so its basically useless. They’ll tell you to file an inquiry ticket.

Deposit from Bitfinex without any issue.

Same with Kraken,

I think that something is wrong with the way Kraken attribute the Tag to the transfer.

Kraken says that deposit with wrong Tag will take 1 month to be proceeded, if you wrongfully send xrp to kraken, and they need to do it manually

I think that the 1 month period is a standard, they wait to see if someone else is claiming the money.

In XRP there is only 1 address where everybody send the money, and the Tag is used to identify people's accounts,

So anybody can just look at the blockchain, find a transaction that was sent to the same address he uses, and go to the support and say that it is his transaction and that something went wrong with the Tag.

That is why there is a 1 month delay.

If anybody is able to get its money back please write a note on this post please.

Also you need to properly fill a customer inquiry with this category '[신청서양식] 가상화폐 입출금누락 확인요청'

After several phone calls, the employee tried to comfort me (without success), saying that bithumb is the biggest company of the world but with this sort of problem they need minimum 1 month to solve it...biggest World company and 1 month pending my little 10000XRP transfert, CRAZY!!! I am thinking in finding a good international crypto lawyer, any idea? class action possible?

I deposited 2,812.67089 XRP to Bithumb from Kraken in 29 Nov.

According to the ripple network the transaction was successful.

While I can not find the balance from my Bithumb account to reflect that transfer in, I raised two tickets to ask Bithumb.

 I provided the ripple xrpchats link above, but Bithumb still replied me that they can not find the deposit.

 That's too bad, any suggestion I can do to find my XRP deposit back?
