Wallet Verification for deposits from private wallets: If your private wallet deposit or withdrawal exceeds €1,000 in value, or if you’re using a new wallet address, you’ll be prompted to verify your wallet ownership.
~
Self-Certification: Verify ownership with a simple one-click process and a quick 2FA security check.

Satoshi Test: Send a small transaction from your wallet to confirm ownership. We’ll guide you every step of the way.
So EU wants to force addresse reuse and create a nice big database of addresses and owners?
Well well well... That is the "Government embracing crypto" that some people keep getting excited about. Little do they know that Governments will be pushing for stupid regulations with the help of centralized exchanges (crypto banks) and this will almost defeat the purpose of Bitcoin creation in the first place.

Exactly. They know that they can't touch non-custodial wallets and decentralized services, so the way around that is to at least try to find the names of the people behind as many addresses as possible. The way they are going to do that is to bother users of custodial services every time they receive a deposit in their custodial wallets or attempt to withdraw. You will be asked to provide the names of the people you receive money from and those you send to.

There will surely be systems in place to keep an eye on the names people provide. When something seems off and they get different names for the same addresses, they will again bother their subjects and ask them why they provided wrong names, why the information doesn't match, and ask them for additional information about the people they were connected with.

Don't forget that Big Brother loves you, and it's all for your safety!

It looks like what MiCA regulation is trying to impose to European citizens, I didn't receive this mail so I don't know if they will apply those rules to all European customers from any European country or if some countries/accounts will be excluded but it's concerning. I'm not sure to stay there, if I need to justify every deposit and withdrawal to be honest.

It seems that customers from several countries(Netherlands, France and Poland at least) need to complete a new KYC before November 1st (2024) in order to still be able to use the exchange(including the Kraken Pro version). Otherwise their account are going to get restricted according to this email from Kraken. Customers won't be able to trade anymore and their accounts won't even be maintained in the future. They don't say anything about withdrawals though.

It was suggested I post here because Kraken cancelled my new account.

I posted about it here:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--5508184

Soon after the rejection, I had no problems opening a new account with a reputable (i.e. publicly traded) exchange.

Although the email I received from  Justin says:

Thanks for your patience.

Unfortunately, we must inform you that we will be closing your Kraken account. For security purposes, we cannot disclose the reason for this action.

Your recent ACH transfers via Plaid have been canceled. These two transactions will not be processed from our side and your bank account will not be debited.

Kindly note that you cannot open another Kraken account.

We appreciate your understanding.

I was hoping you could further explain why and perhaps approve my account.

Thanks in advance.

Personnaly I can still access to the classic/legacy version and place orders or make deposits and withdrawals through this link https://www.kraken.com/u/trade/new-order
I don't like very much the new/pro version but it's easier to see the orderbook and the charts while placing orders there I think and my computer manage to handle it quite easily fortunately, so I have no big issue with this configuration up to now. Even if it's less clear and easy to manage deposits and withdrawals with the new interface.

I don't like the new interface either, however it runs just fine on a VM running on my 11 YO laptop. It's good to try Brave and Vivaldi if FF is too slow.

I'm asking them return crypto to my wallet
If it's based on government sanctions, it may not be up to Kraken (but I'm not a legal expert on international law).

Kraken disabled the legacy interface. The new interface uses 100% CPU on my old laptop, and slows down my entire system. That's a terrible design choice Sad

Change browser that will most likely help. Plenty of ones to try. Chromium (de-googled version of Chrome), Chrome, Brave, Firefox, Opera... Or upgrade laptop lol. What kind of speccs do you have??

they freeze my account
Based on your other posts: any chance you're in a sanctioned jurisdiction? See kraken.com/legal.
Yesterday I saw information: "we don't provide service in your region", Ok, then I'm asking them return crypto to my wallet, and, no any action. Crypto  - frozen. No information from support. There were no notifications in advance!

kraken was once good and reliable exchange. What happened to it?

I have a big problem with Kraken.
I was with Kraken since 2020.
Now without any explanation they freeze my account with 4 BTC.

I traded on kraken for 3 years and suddenly, without an explanation, they blocked my bitcoin withdrawal to my wallet. The support forwards my requests and pretends that they are "checking my account" even though I was verified!

Kraken! Return my money!

Kraken is a bunch of scammers trying to lure users into their direct transaction business with up to 2% fees.
They deliberately hide the order book so that you are falsely forced into direct dealing.
Go f* yourself kraken.

Kraken removed the cheap SEPA withdrawal option, and added 2 new ones.

Old: €0.09 per withdrawal.
New: €0.90 or €1.00 per withdrawal.

The fee is now similar to the other exchange I use, but a 1000% increase is just excessive.
Yes that's because the bank (Fidor bank belonging to the french group BPCE) they were using for those cheap withdrawals has closed down unfortunately. But instant SEPA transfers weren't available through this option, so you needed to wait 1day or more during week-ends to get your funds.
With Clear Junction SEPA (0.90€) wires are instant.

#1 VIP Crypto Casino
Kraken has now secured a Virtual Asset Service Providers license in the country of Ireland. This US based crypto exchange is just 1 of the many of them moving to other countries at this time.
Curtis Ting, Kraken’s senior managing director for global operations, says it is because Ireland has good understanding about crypto.

there is on the top menu, the "Portfolio" section that give you all the transactions, buy, sell, wd, deposit etc.

There is also the "History" section, and here some filtering fields so you can filter for wd and see all of them using the filter "Transaction category".

I think that there at the end of every line still pending may appear the button to cancel the tx. I can't verify because now i don't have transactions to wd to make and in the pro version probabably still didn't make one.

Should be in the subsection "Spot" of "Portfolio" where there is the column "Status" just like the one in the non pro version.

Cheers
Thank you very much cesmak, I will check that the next time I make a withdrawal, because I've looked at everywhere yesterday and I didn't found a way to check its status and cancel my withdrawal, I finally turned off the pro version and went back to the classic one to be able to get back this feature. It's sad if we can't do that in the pro version though.
