In general, increase in XRP correlations should not decrease BTC correlations. Because, XRP has been developed by depending on a basic currency system. RGTS. SO, this will be welcomed by many banks.

And bitcoin is being seen as a more generalized technology.

My conclusion is that even if we get more XRP pairs with other currencies, it should not effect BTC. Though, BTC price effects XRP< it is not necessary that the no of correlations effect. Yes, there may be a slight decrease in BTC pairs but not to a considerable extent.

Will XRP Fiat pairings decrease BTC correlations?

Recently, it was announced that India based Koinex becomes first exchange in the world to start XRP Pairs. Japan Base SBI also is likely to start XRP based pairings as well as fiat based XRP pairs. Now the question arises whether such moves are likely to decrease correlations over time with numero uno Bitcoin.

Now let's look at why most cryptos are corelated with Bitcoin. Because simply, most cryptos are available largely as BTC pairs. Very few are available as pure fiat pairs. That’s also the case with XRP as well as ETH. Since these are paired with BTC, they are correlated to some extent with Bitcoin prices. Not to say that this correlation is always maintained over time. From time to time, this correlation breaks down especially when an altcoin outperforms Bitcoin

Now if XRP Fiat pairings increase more than corresponding BTC pairings, over time people will transact more and more in fiat for purchasing and selling XRP. That will result in the price movement of XRP acting relatively independent to price movement of Bitcoin. However the correlation structure will still exist to some extent irrespective of that since Bitcoin is still the Big Daddy and will remain so for the foreseeable future!

Ripple is a different story. Ripple is a great company but their business model is evolving to not include the XRP token in it. It is become more and more worthless by the day. Banks actually want nothing to do with XRP. They want xCurrent which is a different technology than xRapid which is what XRP is built on. As of now XRP has been adopted by no one.

Bullshit. MoneyGram is on a pilot using xRapid.

...luckily for BTC, because when that happens, prepare for new #1

I remember last January when ripple ripped the chart as it takes on the number 2 spot dethroning ETH on the process and everyone was just surprised. But that was just only a pump that won't last any longer as ETH remains to be the second crypto with highest market cap.

The XRP is now slowly moving closer to a higher position and waiting to be there for long periods of time.
forecasts about Ripple not happy, very soon they defrost another 5 million tokens, I do not think that this will have a positive impact on the price of the coin.

I thought it was going to be billions of XRP scheduled over several months, but this is one of the problems it has always had. First that the supply was so high, so millions do nothing to the price, and second that it was never certain how much developers held and exactly how they would freeze and release them. Every time I try to keep up, it seems this has changed all the time. Not that I am really bothered. My XRP is just for profit. Waiting for ATH return is all.

Bitcoin has much lesser supply, and millions do even less for its price...how your math explains that?

So it is true that the team are burning 25k of Ripples everyday?

Surprise after seeing these information from the people who are sticking in facebook XRP group, there seem to have a lot of people talking about XRP there which is why I checked them. I can't find any links about the announcement about these.

XRP is burned by doing transactions...whatever fee is paid, it get burned

You can check here:

http://www.turfpool.com/ripple-burn-rate

If XRP starts to be used by big financial institutions, burn rate will accelerate
Still expectations and nothing has been done yet, if only this coin really adopted by banks and it will be use in a daily purpose, then it will
gain really a big success after, though it's gaining its momentum again but the expected rise to the moon are still in question, better to
keep  an eye on it and just hold if you already have some coins or buy then wait for the peak.

let me give you an example: back in 1995 I was programmer in a bank...we made retail banking software that is still in use today,
with few transactions changed or added here and there, but on same technology...thats 23 years...banks are THAT conservative
about new technologies

5 million? Actually, its a billion per month...although, 0 out of that can be sold, same as whole billion, its up to buyers.
If they don't sell, they go back to escrow for another 5 years

Where do you people pull those numbers from, lol...so many people seem to really not know what they're talking about.

Transforming the Global Payments Infrastructure: Ripple & XRP

Blog Location:  https://xrphodor.wordpress.com/2018/04/30/transforming-the-global-payments-infrastructure-ripple-xrp/

In my latest blog, I discuss the real work Ripple is doing to transform the world's global infrastructure.

All of the puzzle pieces that Ripple has been working on are now coming together in 2018; From worldwide liquidity coverage in a multitude of corridors, to a massive influx of customers through SBI's new VC services.

In addition, the CEO of Pantera Capital just made an astounding prediction for the overall crypto market cap; I break down what it may mean for XRP.

Hope you enjoy the read!

Sincerely,
-Hodor

Ripple is a cryptocurrency supported by many banks. So I think Ripple will compete with Ethereum in the long term. At the end of May or june , it could be $ 2.

I totally agree. I have seen the strength of ripple community last january when ripple reach $6 dollars. Bitcoin dip just pulled everybody on crypto. But I think, when ripple establish its great network later on, may be 1 to 2 years. Ripple will be a force to reckon with on crypto. It can even be a coin to face bitcoin head on.
