Because people want to sound smarter than they are. I go back and forth with Ripple. I didn't buy in early enough (like last year) to make any meaningful profit. Even if it shot to 1 dollar (I don't think it will) I'm not looking at making that much.
The whole centralized argument is silly. One of the reasons I invested in Ripple is the idea that it's working with "the man". If governments decide they really want to crack down on crypto - you know who is going to win? Ripple and privacy coins. BTC will crash and burn.

The volume keeps increasing. Ripple is the only one of the top 10 that hasn't pumpeado hard. I think we're close, the data doesn't lie. 
I think it may just need a small news to pop now, its ready. If there would be some announcement about a bank using xrp it would explode
These days, the whales are taking positions. I don't think that good news is necessary for it to burst. They give very good forecasts for Ripple before the end of the year, and better for the next. I think everyone knows it's a smart bet.

It's almost that last "top coin" not to have reahced its ATH again ... I think it's a question of days. And with the institutionals entering the game, I am sure good news will arrive from the banking sector, officialising their "active" participation in the crypto game - not only buying and trading assets but also being part of the project !

Not really sure why anyone is buying this coin, its backed by so called banks and not decentralized at all. The total opposite of what Bitcoin was created for
If Ripple ceased to exist, the fastest coin on earth XRP would still exist. It could even be taken over like I don't know a hundred other coins have been taken over when they're original devs left AND MY GOD THEY EVEN WENT UP IN PRICE AFTER ORIGINAL DEVS left. Vcash comes to mind, Zclassic is another that seems to hold value despite original devs being gone and I think its actually up over 2 dollars now with the BTC rise.
XRP is not at all centralized. It is used by Ripple, but anybody can use XRP just like they use BTC as well.
If we see another major increase from bitcoin like $11,000 or $12,000 ripple won't survive around this price. It will go down and we can buy some more ripple if this happens.
