yup, regardless what the long term holders and believers think of me i hope there is some people that listen. They have thrown good news at it for a week and it did nothing but go down. Suddenly BTC drops and XRP goes up, thats NOT what you want to rely on for a coin and is dangerous to buy in in that case unless you plan to get out quickly.

Now XRP dropping while BTC is going up, if thats not a sign of whats happening and that you can jump on BTC and ride it up and make more. Hell even if you want to jump back on XRP after you have made more than do that but you can be making money or more XRP by dumping XRP before it drops back to where it was and ride BTC back up!! Sell Sell Sell!!

Holders are great but those that make moves daily are the winners....

TORONTO, May 25 (Reuters) - The Bank of Canada said on Thursday that its experiment with blockchain, or distributed ledger technology, showed it is currently not compatible with operating the country's centralized interbank payment systems.

The Bank's conclusion, published in a column in The Globe and Mail newspaper, comes after a year-long experiment in partnership with Payments Canada, which is responsible for the country's clearing and settlement infrastructure, and Canada's largest banks.

"The bottom line is that a stand-alone DLT wholesale system is unlikely to match the efficiency and net benefits of a centralized system," wrote Carolyn Wilkins, senior deputy governor of the Bank of Canada, and Gerry Gaetz, Payments Canada president.

"At its heart, there exists a fundamental inconsistency or tension between a centralized wholesale interbank payment system, as we have now, and the decentralization inherent in DLT."

Payments Canada clears a daily average of more than C$175 billion ($130.42 billion) through the wholesale interbank payment system, which is overseen by the Bank of Canada.

Blockchain, the technology that underpins digital currencies such as bitcoin, is a distributed record of data or transactions maintained by a network of computers without the need for approval from a central authority.

hopefully some good news will come aswell

This is huge.  They do a 1/4 Trillion dollars of money PER DAY.   This is the BANK OF CANADA.  This is basically a country trying the technology and saying NO.  NOT GOOD.  SELL SELL SELL SELL

Its all politics here after giving this another read over.

Bank of Canada doesn't want things to become decentralized. That would render them useless. They are after all a CENTRAL BANK. lol the thing is soon they won't have a choice. And that's what usually happens with Canadian government as well. Pushed until they don't have a choice.

When they realize they're wasting money they will come crawling back

hmm why will all banks take notice when another looks at ripple but when its one major bank that doesnt no others will take interest. Like it or not, Canada is not small and other banks will keep a keen eye on it.

The smart people will cash in now and ride BTC back up, i told them they should of done that over a week ago and they could have doubled their XRP supply for this ride. The ride is nothing more than what we see each time BTC dips, so be careful especially when there is no positive news and any news they threw at it did nothing for a week so be very careful of that building bubble!

I explained this a couple posts above. I'm from Canada. Canadian government will most likely keep testing this until they approve it. They always reject things at first even life-saving medications as I said above even if its passed in the states Canadian Government feels they are more strict than American. And that goes for this too.

Give it another year or so when all the other banks are on board and someone blasts them in some article about being behind the times...again, then we will see them get on board.

We are talking about a country here that makes sure radio stations play x% of Canadian content as well as Canadian TV channels. Canadian government is very controlling, we are still fighting for the ability to pick and choose our TV channels outside of a pre-picked package by the cable companies.

Also because of current laws we currently have the most expensive internet and phone data plans on earth due to how behind the times our government is here. A common data plan around here is 500 megabytes, not even kidding and don't ever go over that 500 megabytes or you get dinged several hundred dollars on your bill.

The CRTC most recently passed a motion that Canadian Networks could no longer play their own commercials during the Super Bowl (mostly because imo they just rebroadcast another networks show and rake in the advertising which most Canadian channels do for every American TV show which is some pretty easy money).

Think about that for a second thought in regards to blockchain. How controlling and strict as well as bein always behind the curve. They control everything down to what commercials are played and not played. Not to mention several American channels are never able to be approved unless an overwhelming amount of people request the channel (and that's for all cable companies they can only carry certain channels, for example no company could start up and offer all American channels and no Canadian ones)

This is no surprise at all they will be behind the curve as well when it comes to blockchain. They will keep testing it and as soon as they see other people do it and it starts making them look like idiots THEN they will adopt it. Watch it will happen.

If you're Canadian you know this is how typical Canadian government runs. Nothing not even life-saving medications are approved first go around with Canadian governments.

The Bank Of Canada is also the center of a lot of controversy and like most Canadian government organization they're very slow and behind the times always.

Guaranteed they will adopt it at one point. This is always how it works here. Not at all a shocker to me. I'm sure they let everyone know by telegraph too.

Thanks for the insight for those who have not been to or does not know much about the Canadian way of doing things. This is really helpful.

I was kind of asking the question in the back of my head: How come Japan says it can work but Canada says it can't.. surely it would be possible for Canada too..

How long does it take to send and receive money from Canada to say Malaysia and vice-versa?

If it takes longer than 5 seconds, the need will still be there that XRP can solve.

Also, although it will be nice to have banks' support, there is also the general population that can use XRP without banks. So demand for XRP will still be there.

If your logic of a bank not accepting the technology (yet) is a call to sell, then you should sell all your other cryptocurrency holdings as well for the same reason.

hoho Among those on top, its ripples thats the first to make it green.

XRP is going to dump more, people are starting to realize its a useless crypto, I think we will soon see it back around 5-6k. Maybe in a couple of weeks.

So much for those crystal balls.
