Id say most likely people reaping a financial gain from it. Remember Crypto is untraceable, perfect way to manipulate without ever getting caught. Could also be people wanting to upset the perceived stability/security of the crypto world.

I wonder how exchanges generating millions are not able to improve their security and prevent monthly DDOS...

I am seriously thinking about leaving Polo.

Anyway the good news is : cheap XRP 

maybe someone that wants large amounts cheap and is confident it will go higher anyway or possibly sold too early and wants back in the game lol

I wonder who has incentive to DDOS exchanges. Yes the price might drop for them to buy in cheaply but it takes a while until it starts pumping again, they could as well just have joined the pump instead and we would probably have been higher already.

May explain a bit but I think we will see some sideways movement including some dips until confidence is restored.

P.s No issues with Bitstamp if you want confidence in an exchange, your just limited to BTC and XRP although I think they are looking to add LTC shortly.

This happened after the last polo crash, took a bit for the whales confidence to come back. They dont want to get caught up in a crash risking their profits. Means we could see a bit more dipping while the day traders play.

Its a weird world the crypto space. It acts more like a share market than anything else. That's what I was getting at with if Bitcoin drops the rest will to. I'm talking a major drop due to their current scaling dilemma or it also seems to be affected by major world new events.

Its a human problem, people get nervous and don't want to lose so they see the 'grand daddy' go down and they think others will follow so they cash out on those as well, suddenly everything drops across the board leaving holders to stay in and wait or confidence to resume

Yes, you can indeed make more, I realise that. But the reason you can make more is because it happens. So it does not explain why it happens. bit like "what was first? the chicken or the egg?" (it's the egg of course )
My theory is that its just tradition because "other coins do it".

Because you can actually make more this way, have done it a few times. When other coins shake as BTC goes up, you convert to BTC, sell it at a peak, and then buy more XRP as its dipped. I actually wish I learnt that trick earlier in the piece.

Customer support in Poloniex, Kraken, Coinbase is lowest quality than anywhere else I meet. They do not invest in that. Poloniex trollbox is not the way to sort lags issues. It scares, I agree, but this is wild west in finance world

 Vsyc...when users cant withdraw their own money for weeks...and get banned for asking in troll box because the support isnt responding..thats wrong and someone has to tell Polo to fix the problem...
it took us yrs to recover from gox, polo shouldve learnt from their mistakes.
A few months before craptsy shut and stole everyones funds..people had same problem, they could put coins in but couldnt withdraw...

The lag and server issue is different and i do agree with your points on them.

mirai the polo mod has given day bans to many people that ask about access to their funds...he should be helping not shutting out people that have hundreds of thousands of dollars on their exchange...
