IMO, Ripple Labs cares more for volume of operations than for price. That all said, it will dump XRP when needed to constrain potential rise and maintain an exchange rate at the level acceptable for R3 consortium.

They will compete with libra. XRP may not be as stable as they may think but once the price spikes up due to adoption, its going to rise more than $1 which libra may not go beyond. Lol even without the announcement of Libra release Ripple(XRP) price was in dipping so don’t blame others for the falling of this centralized currency But of course from now this Libra will effect the growth of XRP and also bitcoin and other cryptocurrency as well because the popularity of Facebook will auto effect everything .

I see that the development of XRP in recent weeks is experiencing good developments, I also happy to see this development. but I am more braver to invest in ethereum than XRP.
I don't think XRP currently has a very profitable goal, usually if it's like this then XRP prices are only used for whale toys they try to outwit traders by making prices go up and after that prices are dropped again, XRP will often do like this, don't to be fooled by such a method because it can make you lose.
They are actually looking to tap with the other institutions ( https://thexrpdaily.com/category/ripple-news/) and hope this would take a lead for its market survival and growth. XRP is still a profitable investment but not just to stop from what it has today instead to find another way to sustain the market demand and also with the market competition as well.
I hope they make those connections and tap in to other financial institutions so they can expand usage for not only Ripple but XRP too.

what do you think the main aim of Ripple Labs is for the near future versus to the mid-to-long term?
I don't know what is the aim of Ripple Labs in the future because they don't want to tell their plans to the public. Let us let them work with their project so if they can work for better, and I think that could impact the ripple price too.
Besides that, I think ripple and the other coins still struggle in the unpredicted market, and all of the altcoins still trying to survive to increase the price.

Anyway, that would be a challenge for now and even XRP will do actions and response to the market but it won't that fast. They should have to come up with an effective strategy to help it out from drowning.

Tha main aim for now is to survive from that fool and stat above the altcoins. The market becomes more unstable, and if XRP continues to dump I see the price to become more weak. XRP need to develop something new, they don’t have any big progress so far especially this year, they can’t afford to lose.
I would say Moneygram investment was a huge deal, an unexpected and unannounced partnership which should have yielded better results.

Only for speculation. Zero real world usage for ripple like most alts. Lottery tickets basically.
It is clear Ripple is being used in fintech and Moneygram will be implementing it in the very near future since the Ripple deal virtually assured it. XRP would be needed for low cost almost instantaneous transactions.
It seems Bitcoin as a base currency, Ethereum for contracts and XRP for banking does have a future for now. Just the single XRP price has been a let down.
Yes most altcoins are lottery tickets, sadly no way of being 100% sure which will succeed and which will fail or at which point investors should jump in then out before the price falls.
No usage for eth?? It has the most amount of active developers, it's the leader in smart contracts platforms, its poised to lead decentralized finance. Have you heard of nightfall? Many blockchains are being built on , its market effect and network is huge. Please tell me how xrp can compare? Not ripple , xrp. Because xrp hodlers seem to confuse the two alot.... Banks might use ripple software but have no need or demand for the token. The fact that it is 3rd place despite very little usage and constant dumping is remarkable. Banks will adapt and make their own coin and swift will adapt and nullify any need for xrp.
We all know about the " usage" of ETH. YEs statistically speaking, it has ton of usage- many many block chain built on it. But this is extremely shallow look. All this as you say huge usage is just becasue of the ICOs and tehy are dieing, like it or not. No-one in the end uses ETH besides making shitcoins on shitcoins and speculating on them.
XRP is a faster an cheaper way to send fund across borders, this alone makes it better than ETH . Sorry.
