I hear something about a fork, can anyone tell me what exactly is happening?
i sent yesterday xvg to cryptopia, without knowing that the fork is coming, after the fork happens i receive my coins as usual, or i have to create a ticket support on cryptopia for that?
I have the same problem.2018-01-23 00: 00: 34 it is sent on cryptopia.co.nz 1500 xvg.A fork is passed, and verge did not come.A transaction is presented, as completed.and bad thing that Cryptopia support is useless, will not answer for weeks

So can anyone give me some more insight as to how/if Verge is more anonymous than Monero? A guy went on rant to me by saying how verge has a lot of laws and shouldn't even be a privacy coin. Supposedly Verge will not work in countries that block TOR, but shouldn't it be okay through i2P?
How to upgrade on MAC OS ? Simply install new wallet app over old app and use old datadir data? Or i must download whole blockchain using new wallet app?
I downloaded the 4.0 stealth verge wallet for windows but I can not find the way to import the private keys, does anyone know where I can do it from?

You don't need to. Just use the wallet.dat file from the previous wallet and you will have the same keys. Make sure you backup wallet.dat EVERY time you create a new receive address or send coins or you will lose coins.
I am pretty excited with the hard fork news at block 1,824,150. Hopefully everything will go according to plan.

No and No. They are just updating the protocol. The blockchain will continue on a new chain. No new coins are being issued. The old chain will stop functioning at the time of the fork. All coins remain the same. Nothing lost, nothing gained.

I think it is clear about the hard fork of Verge and can visit the link on github about new updating data, i hope it helps for the community of Verge and it won't makes confuse.

what diff wraith makes? Verge was already anonymous BEFORE wraith.
Wraith is a nice feature, makes the Anonymous aspect Controllable.

Agreed, too many people think that it will be Wraith that brings the anonymity to XVG but it has always been a privacy-focused coin and Wraith is just a nice bonus feature.

XVG is one of the best anonymous coins, if you think monero is anonymous think again. People are very good at hyping a coin when the price is up and soon as the price falls they spit sh**t on a crypto, it's amazing!

It should be fine. When the fork is over and they have updated their wallet your coins should be there. Since the fork has not happened yet you can be assured your coins are still on the main chain. I would not mine until the fork is over and at least 500 to 1,000 blocks have been created. Most pools will go into maintenance mode until the fork has successfully occurred.
The pool i am on put xvg into maint mode, to prep for the hardfork.

one sudden day this coin will reach $1 and than jump more like xrp and cnd did. That time everyone will praise this coin, now they will not understand.
That is not impossible. It could be just a matter of time. Verge is already one of the biggest coins out there.

Forks are normal in crypto. Some coins fork on a schedule just to keep the codebase updated. There is nothing to worry about and your coins are safe. I wish people buying into Verge would educate themselves on how blockchains work and there would not be endless questions like this that come across very naive. You would think that people investing in a technology would take a little time to educate themselves on how blockchains work and what a normal fork is. This is being done by the Verge devs. It is not a hostile fork like Bitcoin Cash where other devs are forking to make a new coin.
