The point is that major financial news sites are displaying the price of bitcoin, causing it to gain more exposure.

Sweet. Now we just need Google Finance to include it, so I can add my BTC holdings to my portfolio.

Interesting that they've chosen to use BTC instead of XBT code

Very nice, a little behind the competition but better late than never as the cliche goes.

Could do with them listing Bitcoin as XBT rather than BTC, see: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/use-code-xbt-not-btc-for-bitcoins-29061

I think quoting in XBT would just confuse the public.

It is easy for someone with knowledge and understanding of bitcoin to understand what XBT is, but the casual onlooker would likely not know what they are looking at. BTC is a better abbreviation for bitcoin.

This is the land of wolves now & you're not a wolf
This is great, the best mainstreaming is when it happens quietly without much fanfare

Yep. So much good news that we stop noticing.

All of the good news that has rolled out in the past week has not yet been reflected into the prices (since we are seeing a little dip)..

Google should be ashamed, they should have been one of the first ones in the bandwagon.

Google too big to fall?  No, they likely will fall too until someone comes up with a more intuitive and accurate search platform.

At the time ~ 1 to 2 years ago, Eric Schmidt told he was not in a need for money when Julian told him about Bitcoin.
Don't feel bad if you didn't jump directly on the bandwagon, even Google missed it  Smiley
I think in the future we might see $1000 or $4000 per BTC

Things are moving much faster than I have imagined. I was expecting this sometime in the 2016. That means that our other targets (such as adoption of Bitcoin by retail giants such as Ebay and Amazon) might also move forward much quicker than we expect them to happen.  Grin

Watching the exchange rates it seems like this is true, but one FUD and boom everyone notices it.
