YAPPADAPPADOO project really nailed it when they used Progressive Web App (App). Even though the technology was currently used by some applications online, they have improved it and they powered it by Blockchain Technology to make it more secure and more reliable.

I agree with you,BuzzerBeater. Yappadappadoo have chosen to take the app user's experience to a higher level, as they use
this PWA : being a Progressive- which means it works for every user, regardless of browser choice;
Responsive- fits any form factor: desktop, mobile, tablet; Connectivity independent - With service workers' help to work offline or
on low-quality networks. And not to mention the Blockchain Technology with it.

Thank you Citriney for agreeing with me. It is really a level up for the applications industry and we are on the era where the technological growth is exponential. I hope that some of the native people agree with this kind of change. YAPPADAPPADOO is doing something that will really simplify our lives.
Correct yappadappadoo do simplify the use of application to the point that even our mother and father or older people can follow the flow of their platform, because they don't need to download anything or install and it comes with multi platform so what ever phone they are using will be applicable... And lastly because of the cloud based web they don't need to update any of yappadappadoo apps, they'll just need to connect to the internet so the apps they are using are always the latest version greatness isn't it?

Indeed greatness, suit for all i guess not only for young generation... Why technology never comes up with these before, its such amazing that everyone can use it and experience all the great work of yappadappadoo platform...

Spotify can play online. However, if you want to download songs to your device, you can play them later offline too. But having lists of songs in your phone will occupy a big oart of your phone memory. This is contradicting. If you want it offline, it can be at your phone memory’s expense. If you want it no installation you will need a full internet connection

I think that is the reason why they will be using Progressive We Apps (PWA) for this. Imagine that PWA will be using 1% of your storage compared to native applications. This is amazing, right? How will they do that? I don't know for now how they will compress songs but one thing I am sure. They can do that for sure!
I think in that case we'll have no choice but to connect to the internet if we don't want to save it and use your phone memory or vice versa, but i do hope yappadappadoo will have apps that somehow can listen to any songs we wanted without saving it to our phones coz im a music lover...
Me too and i love listening to music while im driving or working, but like you said and what ive experience i need to connect to the internet to be able to play different songs that i want and also i don't want to save it in my phone and listening over and over again because its boring... Looking for yappadappadoo to have such a great apps that can play any songs without using internet everytime...

I was just thinking. I think we should be very thankful for this YAPPADAPPADOO project. They are making our life simple. Imagine how complicated it is to install an application. Some old folks who wanted to cope up with our generation cannot do it because sometimes, they need to install an application. This is too technical for them and they really need assistance to do that. Even the updates can be complicated for them, update sometimes requires to restart the device which is very annoying for all.
I agree most of our older are having difficulties trying to catch up the pace of technology in our generation but none of them want to get things slow down, that's why they get stuck up from the older technology and stay with it... Good news we have yappadappadoo store, they don't need to do all the download and updates of the application they'll just use whatever apps they wanted... I think the only thing they need to accomplish is to understand how to use token for them to be able to have this apps, and i guess we can teach them on how to do it correctly...
Yes im always seeing my father confused of all the stuff in his phone, and always asking me the same questions like how to do it, what will happen, why they need this!? And im feeling sorry for him because he can't embrace the flow of our technology, for me the solution is yappadappadoo... And you're right i only need to teach him how to buy this application using token and after that it will be no more confusing and no more series of questions or if any i guess its only few...

They can then monetarize these applications in our App Store with margins that are 50% higher than in the App Stores of Apple and Google. The Blockchain guarantees full transparency and security in respect of app sales and reviews.
(Don't you mean monetize?)How? This is great since more income for app developers and of course, blockchain guarantees transparency and security.
Well of course it would be very great but not really that great yet. Unless PWA advances faster and codes are readily available to dev teams, it won't be easy to create PWA. It's already not easy to create apps for existing app stores.
That depends on the type of applications that they will be trying to develop. It would be easy if the applications are expected to only have specific offline functions in case.

There's a boom right now in online mobile gaming like LAN gaming and MMORPGs, will this platform support those kinds of applications or will it be exclusively PWA content?
It would be like playing an online game without installing it, it would be like old online MMORPG possibly, like gaia online, I can't really remember but it doesn't need to be installed, just takes a long time to load. That's just possibility. Not really sure if it's compatible at all. No offline functionality in case.
Online games would definitely stay as online games, esp. in the case of RPGs since since that's played because you want to play with others online. There probably won't be offline functions applicable, so, it might not be supported.

What transactions are going to be involved in your "transaction universe"? There should be highlights and data flow diagrams with regards to that I think so that 1. Developers would easily understand how much better and simple it will be and 2. Users would know what transactions would be involved and how easy it will be compared to existing systems.
Well, simple transactions probably, the ones normally applicable to app stores: purchasing apps, in-app purchases, advertising, app development and sale related transactions.
There's really not much you can do in the app store, so, I don't think there will be much to discuss unless they will be monetizing even the minor things that you do inside like free trials and writing reviews.

Gaia online isn't actually a pure gaming site and I don't know the last time I visited it but it was slow back then. If the app store supports MMORPG then it won't be PWA.

I'm curious about what apps would be available since PWA is something new in the app industry and also, how will developers sell their apps? If it's lightning fast I might accidentally buy something I don't want.
All web accessible apps are available. PWA means Progressive web applications so applications on the web lit. It's like saving a webpage when you choose add to home screen, It's so easy to delete it as well, not sure if it's refundable though.
I think it would be impossible to accidentally buy something since there should be confirmation on installing apps even if it's for free and specially if it has a fee.

Just to confirm: YAPPADAPPADOO will be an apps store whose apps will be PWA exclusive?(PWA equals web app, meaning no native apps available?)

Web apps are literally apps accessible on the web using chrome, firefox, safari, etc. It would be like saving the webpage kind of thing that's why there is no download or install nor much space needed. Safari/iOS is not yet fully PWA compatible and slightly difficult to "install". Will they address this issue?
Well, "native apps" are usually accessible through their website i.e. they have an online platform accessible through web browsers e.g. Facebook, Twitter, etc. In case this will be a PWA store, then that will be what the store would offer, probably.
For me, it would still be native apps vs. PWA. Native apps will still have a lot of features(Facebook) compared to PWA, I think. PWA is new and will probably need a lot more development before rivaling native apps.
Well, reading their whitepaper, yes it seems it would be PWA exclusive. So native apps will have to have their own PWA compatible platform to make them compatible with this apps store.
The reality of understanding the term "Web App". It's like literally saving the webpage or a shortcut into your device? Right? It's like saving a link but or a webpage on your computer, but making it more interactive sort of.
It's like add account to manage on chrome browser. You can save a password for different Gmail accounts and save a shortcut on your desktop. Just click on the shortcut and you can access the account. You can access multiple accounts as if they are two different apps.
In saving web apps, it's like saving the link or webpage on the desktop. Once you open it, there are parts saved on it even if you are offline. The best part about it is how little space it consumes.

Good to see that Yappadappadoo's tech offering of PWAs is doing well in the digital world.

Here's a proof from Twitter that was shared on Yappa's twitter:

Oh yes. #PWA of #Twitter (Lite) shows amazing results: 75% increase in Tweets, 65% increase in pages per session, 20% decrease in bounce rate.

These are really good figures to boast of.

Here's the tweet everyone! https://twitter.com/yappadappadoo/status/1007239111793573888
PWA really promises engagement. Users actively engage in the platforms more because of the additional features of PWA being implemented in the different platforms.
So, I believe Twitter Lite is a native app with PWA functionalities. Will Yappadappadoo support native apps like these? Native app' lite version wherein they were able to make it "lite" because of PWA.
I think they should support all apps that wants to be part of them, native or PWA or native with PWA capabilities. More apps available in the system, more users.
So lite version of apps are simply implementing PWA to reduce space and are actually able to provide better and more engaging service. That's is why PWA versions are more likely to be successful compared to simple native apps.
If they release the app store before releasing the suite, we can expect that the apps that would be available are currently exising apps available in other app stores.
It's better to release the app store since that part is the same with other apps stores and they should just base it on that.
I think they will release the app store before the suite since that is what this project is about, a PWA app store. I'm not sure if they will be the same as other app stores but based on the pictures, the same apps will be available.
If all apps release PWA versions, then those would probably be the apps available in the Yappadappadoo apps store since it boasted being the first PWA store.
All apps would probably have PWA versions in the future since it proves to be beneficial and encourages more users. When lite versions of apps became available, people were really into it because of the storage space that it saves.
Saying all applications would be an overstatement. There will still be native applications especially computer applications and many mobile applications which I believe cannot really be replaced.
There are a lot of native apps which cannot compare to PWA, and that would become vice versa once this platform is established and the apps become popular or normally used.

I believe that Twitter Lite is purely PWA. Remember that PWAs are entirely different than native apps in many of its attributes.

Though, the beautiful thing about PWA is that it gives the user an immense native app experience less the installation.

You are right elycoinz, Twitter Lite is purely PWA.

Twitter perhaps knew that having a PWA along with their native app is a good way to boost their user engagement and reach as people need not need to install the app before being able to use their services, and that is really smart.

People could not even tell that they were on PWA because Twitter Lite behaves nearly the same as the Twitter App itself.

Have you seen instagram? For you to use it on your mobile device, it is a necessity to install the app itself otherwise, there is no chance to use their service.  And here, i'm sure they have been losing a lot of audience unlike twitter who saw an increase by utilizing PWA.

Good thing you mentioned Instagram here.  With millions of users already on instagram, i too believe that they lose a substantial amount of possible users and audience as Instagram stick with the native app to fully utilize their services.

If they take advantage of the PWA technology, users can start uploading photos directly from their device cameras or from their galleries without having to install the native app.  Not really sure why instagram has not launched their PWA version till date, but i guess will soon see them with one.

Perhaps Yappadappadoo can start with their instayappagram as an alternative, just my thoughts. #winks

The instayappagram is not a bad thought at all panther. It might be a good offering since one of the giants in the photo-driven app has not yet provided a pwa platform until now.

When PWAs can already offer apps that can tap the device camera and could access the galleries too, i think it is unwise of instagram to hold back.

But instagram is also the perfect example of native apps advantage when it comes to marketing population reach.  When accessing their site through the browser, you will see the footer nag asking to download the native app from AppStore or GooglePlay, whereas native apps does not encourage PWAs at all.

Yet, i'm banking Yappadappadoo will commence an effective awareness campaign for its PWA offerings along the way.
