It would not be the first and certainly not the last time that a block was mined with 20 PH or even with 1 or 5 PH. Ultimately, the only thing that counts is the bottom line. If a block falls, it doesn't matter whether you won with 1 PH or 100 PH. The only thing that counts is the joy of winning Smiley

I've been trying it for about two years, I usually have an S19, also with 6 s19 and 750Th/s full months.

During this time those doubts arise, I continue with everyone in Viabtc or I try my luck in ckpool, if I find a block I would get what I would have to be at least 15 years mining in viabtc, of course, if they do not find a block I do not recover the investment.... A complicated dilemma to fear clear

I think there is a thin line between lottery/trying your luck vs gambling, going full blast with nearly 1PH to solo mine to me is addictive gambling. if you have 100PH worth of hashrate then that would be a different story, but if all you got 2PH and you point 50% of it to solo -- it's bad gambling, let alone pointing 100% of your hashrate, but it is just me, I know everyone is different.

Which is accurate?

Your miner status page is your company portal, where you log in and they tell you, your salary is going to x, the pool page is your bank account, it's the actual $$ you are going to get, It's a funny analogy but whom would you trust more?

It's possible that the status page on that firmware is broken, but it doesn't matter, always check the status on the pool page, if your daily hashrate is within a reasonable range of 1-2% in the span of a few days then you are good.

if your hashrate is 100th, idealy it would show as 98th on the pool (- the 2% fee of BOs+) so anything in that 98th range +-1-2% would indicate an overall "healthy" mining.

I've been trying it for about two years, I usually have an S19, also with 6 s19 and 750Th/s full months.

For a new miner how much profitable is it to go for the solo mining? I mean what if I go to the market buy the mining rig and get the mining done on solo ckpool, will that benefit me OR is it still about the luck and finding the blocks in the long run? I mean why I should be diverting myself on "solo pool" or what's the reason I should not be just plugging in my miners and enjoy the daily rewards?

I do not understand the logic behind this method.

If it is really big mess then I would like to read any articles that makes more sense. Smiley

It is very complicated to explain by writing text.

But I will effort the why of it.

First off think of a 3 digit number game many states and countries allow you to play.

pick say 275  if it hit most places pay 500 to 1

well that is terrible odds you should never play it as in the long run you should lose. 50%

Now lets pretend I say pick a 3 digit number only 1 a day and if it hits I will pay you 1200 to 1

You should play as in the long run you should turn a profit.

SO if you can mine solo at a very low cost in the long run the odds are in your favor.  the odds may be you hit 1 time every 10 years  but your power is cheap why not.

Or like you say if I mine with cheap power I can earn a little every day and in ten years it will be a pile of cash.

A lot depends on how much cheap power you have and how much hash you have.

If somehow you can run 100kwatts a day mining the s21 you make $15 or 16 usd a day and in 10 years it is a pile of cash.

If all I had is 1 s21 I would mine it to earn the $15 a day not solo.

All of the above is based on have very cheap power. That mining for profit is possible.

If you mine at a loss you should limit it to a very small miner and mine solo.  Just buy some coins if you want o invest in BTC

Most of people just consider solo mining as a lottery, there is no point to use a 500 gh/s ASIC on a regular pool and earn some sats per year. It is better to have nothing, or a whole btc block + fees if you are insanely lucky. A lot of people are also renting hashrate with Nicehash or MiningRigRentals, some Ph/s for some hours/days hoping to be the next lucky one.

Some small ASICs like Bitaxe or Gekkoscience products are nice for hobby miners / solo miners, you have your lottery ticket each 10 minutes with almost no electricity costs, even if your chances are almost non-existent to find a block of course Smiley

Is it possible to solo mine a whole block solely on insane luck?

Newb here with an s9 spaceheater and bitaxe looking for help.

The s9 spaceheater runs on Braiins OS, and the 'Best Share' is seemingly arbitrarily immediately 10000 and stays there regardless of how long I run it. The Solo CK Pool stats page shows my best share as close to 4 Billion. I've seen posts on reddit with a similar situation, but without replies.

Which is accurate? I found reference in the Braiins FAQ that they divert about 2% of hashes to their own pool when you mine on a pool outside of Braiins pool. That's fine with me for using their OS, I just don't want to be contributing 98%+ of my hashes to them...

Thanks in advance,
Pleb

Hi all,

I have been mining for the pool for 5+ years with a gekkoscience 150mhz (16Gh/s) with no luck, however I've got some free electricity to use on mining.
Which miner would be the best for solo mining hashrate/price wise.
I have seen some cheap used antminers on ebay/marketplace, however I am not sure which would be the best.
Could you please give me some advice?
Thanks.

I can't give you any tips about miners. But I'm curious and would like to know how and where you can get free electricity legally. It would interest me and probably others too. Can you provide more information about this?

Thanks in advance and have a nice weekend
citb0in

I've got a house under refurbishment - so I dont live in it. It has 7kw solar installed on the roof generating electricity. Since the house is under refurbishment I've got at least 6-9months where I would just sell the leftover electricity (most of it) for the national grid (non-UK) for pennies. Instead of this, I rather buy a retired antminer or whatever is feasible and use the energy to try my luck Cheesy
By the way you can get used panels and inverters for cheap and build an offgrid system to get electricity. Not sure about the country / city restriction in you home country so - cant go further with the advice.
Hope it helps.

Blockparty 56 is over and here are the planing for the next Blockparty Run 57

You can write here or in the german / englisch mixed main topic here --> https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--5482180

And for all other small USB Miner / Bitaxe Miner or all other, please have a look at our short solo groupe here --> https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/lottery-solo-pool-miner-race-on-ckpool-5478927 or the englisch and german mixed master topic here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/solo-pool-miner-race-5477020

Hello all,

let's go to the next group buy from Hashingpower.

As already requested by some forum users I put a new group buy for solo mining. Start at the earliest after the next diff reduction.

~15-18 users for each 0.005 BTC, 0.01 BTC or more BTC can participate. A higher number is not useful, otherwise a possible profit will be much too small.
If smaller amounts than the minimum amount are allowed in a single case, then the calculation of the rewards will be based on the amount of BTC deposited.
Hashingpower is rented on Nicehash and shot on the solo pool.
The status of the group run can be observed during the runtime via the Live View link.
Here you can see what our hashingpower is and what our highest share / bestshare is.

If a block is found, the reward will be paid out to the participants.

Lets go and let us find a block before the next halving

In the past we had found 10 blocks --> 193 BTC!
Block list: 385022, 394940, 394946, 395087, 396941, 399709, 401934, 706369, 712217, 780525

Those who want to participate send their BTC to the following address bc1qlpd45688hce39lusur8sdnuzy3z2dx4uvrgpkt and post their participation with the following template:

Please send your coins only if there is still a place available.

To make it a little easier in the new year, I've decided to do the reservations differently.
In the new year there are reservations possible for people who pay for 2, 5, 10, ... block party runs in front.
If the quota is exhausted, the place will be automatically free and someone else can use the place.

Specifically, we start with the Blockparty Run 2022-1 and if someone sends 20x 0.01 BTC at the first time, he is practically permanent until the Blockparty Run 20.
If someone joins the Blockparty Run 2022-7 and sends 10x 0.01 BTC, he will be a member until Blockparty Run 17.
This simplifies the organization and places are not permanently taken by the same people, unless someone sends 50x 0.01 BTC for the 50 planned Runs.

If we should not create at the end 2023 the Runs, for which someone already paid, the last Run in 2023 all payments are used around longer to run.

As long as open slots are available the coins can be sent at any time without an OK from me

Of course there is no guarantee that we will find a block, but it would be mega if we repeat the runs until we find one!
Should something happen like: Nicehash account hacked, deposit address in forum post hacked, BTC sent to a wrong address, etc. no compensation for the loss will be provided. Everyone takes this risk or does not participate in the block party if they do not agree with it. However, I assure that everything will be done with the highest care as before.

Hi, maybe i already know the answer but I'll ask.

Can a nerdminer v2 enter to this pool? (In their GitHub: https://github.com/BitMaker-hub/NerdMiner_v2?tab=readme-ov-file#pool-selection, this pool appear there)

Thanks!

Nerdminers are toys and not meaningful miners, and their hashrate is so ridiculously low that the pool will never register a hashrate for them.
