Hi -ck  I have a question
I've just checked my stats at the pool (usually I don't do it when not mining) and suddenly discovered that my average 1hr hashrate is above zero, but I finished my usual Friday lottery mining more than 24 hrs ago.
I'm using two different addresses for failover and for Friday mining, so my asics jumping to a failover pool is not the case.
Could it be that someone is mining to my address (why the heck anyone on the planet would do that though) or is it smth else?

Just curious, it doesn't bother me anyway.

Hey Buddha,  once you stop solo mining, if its a pretty good size of hash rate say like 1Ph of rental for 2 days.  the stats will even show up on your 7day estimate.

i havent solo mined in 2 weeks but this is showing right now on my stats
 "hashrate1m": "0",
 "hashrate5m": "0",
 "hashrate1hr": "0",
 "hashrate1d": "32.9G",
 "hashrate7d": "2.97T",

So its nothing to be concerned about, or finding a magic block with that hash showing

how do we know if our ckpool have found a block or my miner have found a block?

just found out that my antminer s9 have found a block recently..

You do realize your nicehash config is the main and the pools under it are fail over pools right?

also on nice hash your miner most likely found a alt coin block for someone else that rented your hash. I have had miners on nicehash and they show 5-6 blocks found but none were BTC as the best share was not high enough.

The cool part - the price to run 72 PH for a day would be around 14 BTC on Nicehash, meaning that you can get a block (probably) but would lose money on it. Which is the whole point of cloud mining being a questionable venture - why would anyone sell something (hash power) cheaper than they could use it?
While I agree with your conclusion, I feel it only responsible to point out that "rentals" and "cloud mining" are different concepts and implementations (and that cloud mining is, imo, a cancer to the entire crypto space).

are you sure?

thats shit... Sad

btw, if i rent 1 PH/s for 1 day, what is the chance that i will be able to find a block in a day?
Yes, I'm sure. Besides the fact that nh is your 1st slot (the one that you mine unless it's down), the "best share" you have is too low to have solved a Bitcoin block anytime in many years now.

If I did the math right, the expected rate to find a block in 1 day is 72.2PH (with today's current difficulty). So, 1PH for 1 day would have a 1:72 chance of finding a block if you only did it for a single day.
Or, as the master says:

That was a nicehash rental block not a Bitcoin block.

That'll change after the 2x fork...

You think they'll switch over to the 2x chain, or stay on the original one?
Since btc.com is owned by bitmain, and bitmain are the prime movers on 2x, they're making it look on the surface like they're assuming it will become the dominant chain so it stands to reason that they would be referring to that chain. For the record, I think they don't believe it will succeed any more and are just sticking to it to give them yet another chain to mine according to profit vs difficulty like they're doing on shitcoin cash.
