That is not the definition of lagging. They're different servers in different data centres (run for different pools even). One happens to be closer to you. Under 40ms is still very low latency.

 a few more hours on the rental to chase that elusive 25 shiny coins..... no luck yet - going to grab a chicken sandwich now...

Btw, noticed that "sg.ckpool.org" is lagging about x10 compared to the benchmark "sg.kano.is" -- is this normal?
Are hosted in the same ISP?

I just pointed 75TH towards the solo pool for the next 4 hours, fingers crossed.

Worker "mikestangstick" was from the last gekko club run.  This morning I changed all my club workers from that to the Jan11mikestangstick name, checked the /workers/ link I posted to the club thread to verify the hash was going there (and I typically click urls when I post them to verify they work), and then copy/pasted the 989k best ever share.  I clicked the same link a few hours later and noted the discrepancy.  The best share reported on my home mining monitor matches the 374k best ever that is reported.  I suppose it could be user error on my part, but given the steps I followed I'm uncertain where the error could be.  Or maybe I'm just crazy.  

If it's not a bug then that just leaves error on my side.

There's no way to adjust difficulty at the pool anyway unless you use a miner that supports --suggest-diff (which cgminer does), though you don't have that kind of control over it from rentals. So it's a moot point as there's nothing you can do about diff with rentals on solo. Solo will cope with whatever you throw at it and do the right thing.

I started using rentals to try my luck on solo.CKPool and rig renters indicated to use a difficulty level. But I recalled your previous advise about using difficulty levels and kept it as none or "x" since the stratum & ckdb will take care of everything. .... having said that I tempted to try following renters diff recommendation but I donot to waste those precious rental time... any advise? I'm not aware of any issue with bestever any more. Was this a bestever on one of the secondary pools - only new best evers are carried over as of yesterday. Are you also sure you were looking at the same worker? I see one with just mikestangstick as the extension that has "bestever": 14155816

-ck, I posted this in the gekko solo club thread but at Phil's suggestion I'm bringing it here, too.  I recall reading about some best ever share bugs a little while ago and am wondering if I experienced another one?

Just saw this, and pointed my misbehaving S5 to it.

So far only two very small miners on sg. However since that part of Asia has only just woken up for good I'm bringing this post forward so others know about it.

But then again, some of us have hit one with under 100T.  We keep plugging away!!

I think you've summed it up perfectly there, I'm the same. Dont think I can rest until I hit a block due to my OCD. My wife and 16 year old daughter just dont get my addiction to this forum. No surprise really I suppose it is pretty sad spending all my spare time on here.

Problem is with diff now at 104B / G its pretty much impossible to hit a solo block unless you rent PH for day(s) which is $1000's.....

Who the hell can justify renting PH's @ $1000's a day? Not me thats for sure .

I usually go to sleep between the hours of 11am-2am unless my mind isn't busy and have to wake up to get ready for work at 4am..... granted I only work 4 hours a day & have kids half the time, it has really stuffed with my routine.
