It's hilarious to me that finally the price of Bitcoin is sub-$2000 after being at an All-Time-High, and people are dumping their coins instead of BUYING.

You shouldn't be selling your Bitcoin AT ALL, and acquiring as much as possible, you want to know why?

Because if there is a Hard Fork and a new Blockchain is created with Segwit activation, you will end up with FREE SEGWIT BTC. That's right, you will still have your Bitcoins PLUS the new Segwit coins on the new blockchain. If you have 10 BTC, you will have 10 BTC + 10 Segwit BTC. So if you were smart you would be acquiring as much Bitcoin as possible, especially while it is cheap, before the Hard fork.

That is my opinion.

To be honest, if we want to buy more bitcoin, we should wait until it's low in value, which will help us get more profit when it comes back.

You mean buying something that's about to split in half in the next 10 days? are you going to compensate for our losses? I'd say the bitcoin itself will do that, already going back up lucky anyone bought when price was below $1990 people finally figured out whatever happens their coins are safe in place, bitcash or no bitcash every single bitcoin will remain the same.

Price fluctuation is normal in bitcoin price chart, if we look past 3 years. We need to wait and hold the bitcoins atleast to sustain in bitcoin related businesses. If price drops we have to think and buy the bitcoins as much you can at that time. Then you need to check the price now. It returns back 2300$.

You can do that when your funds still good and can buy more, but with poor people as me, when buying in high price and choose wrong trend, I will accept my loss maybe 5-10%. But then, the price of Bitcoin will need correction and I can buy more with good profit than waiting the price recovery Smiley

You're getting 2 Coins for the price of 1 don't let them convince you otherwise!

SURE, both coins value could be less than Bitcoin now, at first. But they WILL increase in value later. You can BET ON IT.

Bitcoin will be over $5000 and the new Bip148 or Segwit version will be whatever it is worth. That you got for FREE.
Completely agree with you, most likely hardfork won't happen and we won't get 2 coins but anyway you are still getting BTC for a very cheap rate. The $1900 dump was just momentary we are not even close to 1st Aug and the price has come back up to $3000

LOL dude your logic implies that the market cap for Bitcoin will double for no reason. If everyone is going to have twice as much btc, this will literally have the exact opposite effect. Bitcoins will each be worth half of what they are now, meaning that doubling your coins will leave you at the same balance.

Also Bitcoin is clearly overvalued and now entering a long term bearish trend until the next bubble (likely 3-5 years from now) so it is unethical for you to be telling people they should be buying when in fact there is no real reason to do so and in all likelihood, listening to this advice would be very financially harmful.

It could be unethical for you to be telling people not to buy. People can make their own decisions.

Telling people on this forum to buy is like bringing a gambling addict to a casino and encouraging them to throw all their money into roulette. Telling people to sell or not to buy when bitcoin is clearly entering a bearish trend is like telling them not to gamble.

I agree with the op, who knows what the value of those coins will be but it certainly has potential

If bitcoin is adopted by the entire world, all the 6 billion humans, it will value 1 billion dollars, because coin supply is limited.

This can solve the issue of unemployment being caused by massive automatization. The robots do the work, the man lost the job, and the coin saves the man from hunger and allows him to buy what the robot produces. The idea here is everybody living in a ponzi scheme. I don't known if it is possible, but is something to think about.

Let people do whatever they want. After all, I surely believe that most of the big investors are eyeing to buy again especially at the current dip. All I can say for those speculation revolving around on what will happen few days from now, so be it!

To prevent converting to fiat, I now stored some of my bitcoins into desktop wallet and will remained there passing the upcoming scenario. Win or Lose I will take the risk instead of selling it today and will regret later.
yes everyone has their one choice and we can only give the suggestion according to our own knowledge and analysis. as to me i think it will never be a wise decision to sell bitcoin in such a low price, i think we need to hold bitcoin for the price increase, because the price is temporary decreased and  that very soon it will start increasing again and then no one will get chance to purchase bitcoin in such a low price.

Because if Bitcoin was flawed, and these developers had the magic solution, they would just create their own new Alt coin instead of using the popularity of Bitcoin for their own gain.

The Truth is, it doesn't matter what "settings" and "configurations" you use for the Blockchain, it all has practical purposes and the usefulness appreciates in value due to us living in the Digital Era.

Yeah but you're saying that like it'll be the only change xD

Sure they'll get new btc... But overall price will drop as low a hell.
If there is a hardfork and two kind of btc then there is 0 chance that both continue to be worth their current price. Otherwise that would mean we would have doubled the market capitalization just by forking which is completely impossible.

Thats true and your opinion is right based on the assumption that there will be a split eventually but the split cannot be confirmed that it will happen as even the bitcoin website had to put a disclaimer in the release that was made recently that split MAY happen. Also, I think buying bitcoin now is actually the best thing to do because I am optimistic that after Segwit's activation, we might not see price down to this again which means the opportunity is gone.

People have doubt's we cannot erase that, Since many of us think that their would be another downfall since their are so many days left and the decreased are so fast and that could hurt for those huge bag holders that why we can't blame them to dump to aid some shit upon losing some money for continous downfall. But one thing im sure they will bounce back to buy cheap coins around to regain their losses for this sad situation.
