My biggest loss to date was about 0.1btc although I have made quite some small amount but the largest amount to date at one goal is that. But I have learnt my lessons that knowing the right time to buy and sell is the soul of any trading activities and that's where the secret of this who will win and those who will lose their investment which is something I have made as a point of duty to always focus on.

According to the prices today, if a kept my bitcoins i'd be up thirty to sixty K

Losing bitcoin due to software or hardware difficulties and being scammed? at least five k

how about you?
My biggest lost when I was trading came when I was a complete noob in the world of bitcoin ad after buying some bitcoin with the intention to use it I saw that the price got lower and I lost the equivalent of 44 dollars, since I was a noob I sold as fast as I could without realizing that is just the way things work in bitcoin.

Thats a newbie mistake most of us have done in our early days. Stupider than that I have once bought Bitcoin for a higher price and after some time I felt the price was increased, but the problem was I had misunderstood the whole graph, long story short, I lost some 50-60$. Learnt lesson.

I had about $60 worth of Steem on Steemit and must have written down the password wrong, I am still auto-signed in but I cant log in on any other PC or transfer the money without the password.

Not a massive loss but slightly annoying.

In case you're using Chrome try Manage Passwords from settings or ChromePass which reads all your "encrypted" passwords.

Nah I'm on firefox.

I think its in a notepad file on my broken desktop somewhere, and the hard drives in it are fine its just a motherboard issue, so when I get that fixed I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get it back anyway.

My biggest loss is in ripple, I buy 0,0002150 and sell all at 0,0001000. My analyze says it will go up so I keep buying ripple but unfortunately the price go down, I cutloss and have loss almost 20% from my btc. It's hard to believe because that's my first trade and make me frustration. Now I try to fix my strategy because loss is bad experience, hope not happen again. Have a nice day.

I haven't really lost since I am in the black, but I have sold way too early. Most recently I bought ETH at 40 and selling at 178 was a mistake.  It's gaining a lot today as BTC is dropping. I'm not sure what to make of that. Maybe the lower price it more attractive to new investors.  I'll just hope there is a big dip on profit taking and buy back in.

At present, in the past 2 weeks I lost almost .03 BTC Smiley but it is only on market value since I did not sell my coins yet. I am holding it until now, for I know it will bounce back later on. I bought it in its highest  price, not knowing i  that its already starting to dump. It was my mistake, now my funds are stuck with it now in Polo.

My biggest lost with crypto is buying a lame alt coin in ICO stage, after being promised with great development and a lot of implementation site, the coin become a failure and nobody want it, the other is when I was a newbie I am not really patience in waiting for the eth price to go up and I sell it for a low a price and now the price is up 1000%

Invested in ETC thinking that I'm investing in ETH lol, can't remember the exact amount but it was around 50% of my investment as I though I have invested in ETH and made a big mistake by not checking the acronym.

I have bought many shitty coins but none of them was like ICN which made me a good profit and left me a good taste to invest in ICO, but until now none of the ICOs after ICN were much successful as them.

I'm too much afraid to invest in altcoins now especially in top coins in poloniex because everything goes red when I invest Sad.

Lost about 0.8BTC due to gambling last year , damn I feel dumb after that .. And I never go gambling again , probably greed already consuming me last year .. I'm so sad and depresses lol ,.. Maybe I'll go invest on some promising alts

(…)

After watching the free money drain down to nothing in 5 minutes, it makes me wonder how people can even get into gambling... at least the machines. If you're good at poker, blackjack, or have a lot of knowledge about sports or horse racing, that's different. A Milwaukee talk show guy named Mark Belling is into horses and posts his picks on the web.. he's gotten a few really big long odds winners in the last year which could have netted a person several thousand dollars on a 20 dollar bet. That's skill. Sitting at a slot machine, that's just flushing money down the toilet.

Poker, Horse racing and all that only works, because there are people who lose and people who win. If everybody was a pro, nobody would be able to do more than break even.

My biggest loss… well, counting possible future wins (apparently we do), I had 3100 Stratis, which I sold for around 0.4 BTC. It's around 7 BTC right now.

But looking at it like this is living in the rear view mirror. If I added all the trades which could have been better, I would be up like 1000% of what I'm actually up. That doesn't seem to be a good way to look at things.

Could have, should have, would have doesn't matter.

Now that would be 126 BTC today but I don't care. It's not just absolutely pointless to get stuck on what if's, that money at the time was very very valueable to me.

I think we should stick to realised trades and not what if's.

I bought xrp when it was 700 sat and sell it when it dropped down to 600 sat. That was my terrible mistake because 1 month after that event, xrp has got up to 6000 satoshi

your loss is 100 sats per token. everything else is theoretical. most wouldn't hold until the top.

My biggest lost was definitely Josh Garza's fucking Paycoin scam. Second biggest was pbmining. Third is me being a dumbass and running random wallets on my main computer left and right without sandbox or VM and getting fucked by a malware years ago thinking it wouldn't happen to me.

Learned my lessons on all these fronts; not trusting anything remotely centralized (paycoin, cloud mining) ever since and always only run wallets in VM or in a restricted sandbox.

I can't stand gambling. I downloaded that "my vegas" app at the suggestion of some co-workers who have 250K gold coins and after a couple of hours wasted I'm up to a whopping 300 gold coins.. makes me wonder how much of their life they waste playing that crap... those games are so silly I have to mute the sound because they play on people's psychology, making them sound like winners when they broke even on a spin, lol.   If I could download a bot to play the game on windows for me, that's how I'd do it. lol  That's what I did when these same co-workers got me into Clash of Clans, which I quit when I maxed out Town Hall 7 after seeing how much of my life I'd have to waste to make further progress.  There's a reason I'm good at cryptos and the stock market.. because I spend spare hours researching that and not playing these time sink games that serve to waste one's life away.
