Bikes will blow most cars off the road, mostly due to their high horsepower to weight ratio. A motorcycle will weigh around 350-450 pounds, and can have up to ~250 HP. That's a lot of power and very little weight to haul. If you want to keep up with a liter bike you'll need 900+ horsepower for a 4,000 lb car. For example, a Ninja 650r (not a liter bike, only a two cylinder 650cc), which is mostly geared towards commuters/new riders, has a power to weight ratio of almost 350 BHP/ton, with "only" 71 BHP, because it only weighs around 400 pounds.
Bikes can't keep up with race cars though, F1 cars and super karts and the like, they don't have the traction nor the aerodynamics. 4 wheels +downforce wins in the end.
As for the point of a car, most aren't concerned with being the fastest thing on the road. Fast enough is usually fast enough, leave the racing for track days.

These cars are great. Where I live I see a couple a day pass me every day...they are so silent its incredible. A car that can go 120+ and barely make a sound? And oh yeah its decked out in everything luxury you can think of? yes please.
