I started gaming in the early '90s, and I have a hard time for choice my favorites. I would say Fallout and Call of Duty
Tetris helps typing speed ? typing of the dead helps typing speed, using old 8 bit machines and having to manually type in the game before you could play it was how I learnt touch typing. 10,000 lines of code no typos allowed will improve your typing speed 
Tetris was a big one, I had it in 3D as one of the first PC games and pc was amazing at vector transformation. Battlechess was another early pc one.

CSGO is a good one because they tightened up skill play so you can get really close games now, where old CS one guy just dominates

there is a huge list but my favorite ones are, Clock tower, Silent Hill series, Metro The last light, Chrono Trigger and Metal gear Solid snake.
Yes, Snake or whatever you call it is a classic of classics. That's literally one of the games I was drawn a blank on earlier.
