Never had any issues when I did use Coinpayment people but the last time was last year. Consider now that there are plenty of other options that put you in more control of how you accept payments -- I will say BTCPay since no one has -- you should look these up first.

Using this may require you a bit of a learning curve but open source, active and helpful community, and well, just more control over wallets... It's hard to ignore now.

Suppose the only useful service I see from Coinpayments now is their escrow service -- but you still got to trust them.

If the reason of those ceasing of operations is because legal reasons (maybe the New York/Washington reason is probably around the uncertainty of Bitcoin regulations), then I doubt any centralized payment processor will support business process on those areas. So, your only option would probably be self-hosted payment processor, with the risk of breaking currency rules (if there's any) on those areas.

I am thinking about this option... thanks for your input on that matter.

So not good to use coinpayments today. If you are selling to any countries listed above.

If you want to use a payment processor to accept bitcoin I suggest you try to BTCpay server self-hosted is always better.

Other alternatives "Self-Hosted & Hosted Payment Processors" are listed from here https://github.com/alexk111/awesome-bitcoin-payment-processors

I have seen these limitations. I think it is because of the USA limiting business with these countries. I guess when you accept payments in crypto you have be clear about these kind of things and of course not to sell to Iran for example. Coinpayments.net are not Huawai and certainly don't want to be banned or blacklisted because they bypass some USA freaking sanctions.
That's my reading of this part of their customer's agreement.

You could also mention the "As IS" clause that pretty much say that they will not cover your loss in any case and you are using their service without any protection. It is a mandatory clause in these kind of contract too.
For sure the self hosted wallet option is the most private but it is also not the best one for people who are new to crypto.

Yes, please read them a lot clearer. I took the time to check out 3 of them and I'll summarise what was the case with them.

Do NOT trust payments with https://www.coinpayments.net/ - The seller was a scammer and coinpayments was used as a payment processor but did not offer a refund to the buyer after he was scammed. Not a fault on the payment's processor's side, they don't, and shouldn't take responsibility for the seller scamming.

Coinpayments.net scam - Seems like a random person complaining about the removal of a coin from the platform, even after a fair warning was given.

Coinpayments.net.... complete scam artists (complaint withdrawn) - Solved by their support and the customer. Bit of fault on both sides.

Blocknomics isn't bad either. They instantly withdraw to your personal wallet, but Coinpayments have been along longer and I'd say are more trusted. Do your research before finding out which one you want to go with.

It's .co and not .is and yes, Blockonomics is clearly more reliable and also a safer option as you'll be receiving funds directly to your wallet and you don't have to worry about having your account locked or frozen.

I have spent some time checking these threads and it seems that all the time the problem was from the customer side.

MrData https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/mrdata-193932 is the representative of cointpayments.net at Bitcointalk... and it seems that most of the cases were either solved or proven that the customer was at fault.

Hi,

I am planning to use https://coinpayments.net to sell services, but I am not sure if they are reliable or not.
For example I tried to purchase just now, and the website is under maintenance?

Any though about this service?  Huh
