Here are mine:

In 2016...
  • Bitcoin price will fall below $200
  • New altchains will start taking over Cryptoland
  • Bitfinex will likely go bankrupt
  • Altcoins maket share will grow significantly
  • Meanwhile Litecoin price will fall below $1
  • And ETH price will touch (or will be close to) its pre-sale
  • At least one Chinese exchange will be shut down
  • First altcoin w/ market capitalization > 1M BTC

Make yours. Time will tell who is right...

Bitcoin will rise gradually over the next 3 months with ups and downs, expect it to be aprox. $800 USD a month after the halving. Litecoin will prevail once more with an estimated value of 15 - 20$ after the Bitcoin halving.  Wink

I think the price will rise to about $2000 in 2016. If there are more adoptions, the price could be even higher.

I don't see the price rising that high but I hope to see a new ATH.
Furthermore it would be pretty awesome if we would be able to hold around $1000, but I'm not sure if possible.
I think this will depend on the extremes of upwards movements.

2k is not realistic, but like you said the moment we got some momentum going on the price could easily go up 50-60 dollar in just 1 day.
If we got 10 of those days in 2016, we will be there at 1k

I predict for 2016 that the price will continue rising slowly. maybe we will see some extreme movements as this year.
the halving will not be the main factor in btc price rising
more adopters will use btc
more sites will accept btc

In my view, in 2016:

- BTC will chop around in a big range (300 - 500 USD) in the first half of the year.
- Bearish sentiment will increase throughout the year
- A few small states include BTC in foreign exchange reserves
- Significant consolidation in exchanges and BTC-based financial services; emergence of a few well-funded big players
- BTC/USD will be higher at the end of 2016 than at the end of 2015

I expect a lot. For me bitcoin will be the hype of 2016
- Price movements
- A few big webshops accepting bitcoin
- New services for bitcoin
- Much more

Basically the same thing people say and expect each year.

Bitcoin will never end up the way most people think it will on these forums.

completely wrong statement, there is no sub 200, you are not understanding that miners will leave, and a new down trend would happen wrecking even more the price

the diff will skyrocket before the halving so 200 will not be sustainable for them, also as is it right now there are more chance to see 1k than sub 200...

i think that in 2016 we will reach a new all time high because of the bitcoin halving

Bitcoin's price will surely rise a lot. I really doubt that it will drop to $200. As soon as halving hits, there is only going to be up's for Bitcoin. Well, I hope.

According to my view bitcoin price will go high in this year, We can see so many adaption from business sector to bitcoin. In January we can’t that growth in bitcoin price but after January we can good growth in bitcoin and halving will make difference in price chart very soon.

...

I don't know where BTC prices will be in 2016.  No really good idea.  But, FWIW, here are my guesses:

-- Prices will likely be as volatile as always (easy prediction)
-- More VC capital will come in, that should help more & better services get started
-- Which, with luck, encourages more people to start learning about and using Bitcoin

I agree that merchants accepting BTC is likely the key to revving up our crypto.  Will they?  My guess would be continued growth, but probably frustratingly slow.

My guess as to end-2016 price: $600.  If BTC catches on faster than I expect: $1200!
