Bitcoiner? What is the difference with enthusiast? Maybe much better OP to complete or add complete name for a typical choice.

Cause I consider myself as a crupto enthusiast by I am more on the side of the altcoin rather than bitcoin. But Don't get me wrong I love bitcoin, but I like more altcoins when it comes to new discovery and applications.

Cause if you summarize it every user here is bitcoiners for using bitcoin.

for the matter of this topic, I consider Bitcoiner as someone oriented to Bitcoin primarily, and Enthusiast is oriented to more crypto currencies, not just Bitcoin, following all news and developments on daily level
from your explanation, I would tell that you are more Enthusiast than Bitcoiner

nevertheless, it would be hard to put enough options to fit all members, so everyone decide for himself regarding most appropriate option

Slava Ukraini!
It was quite difficult to choose option to vote because few of them fits for me and only 1 vote is allowed. Both Enthusiast and Regular fits for me. But in the ende, I decided to go with Bitcoiner - really like this word and I think it reflect me best.

Enthusiast, In my opinion, this is the most appropriate choice to define myself in this industry although I can still be categorized into 5-6 other choice. Almost everyone involved in this industry has been considered a bitcoiner by people outside the forum even though in essence they are just acting as an altcoiner. Maybe bitcoiners are a fitting assumption considering we continue to be involved in bitcoin forum. I just wanted to say that you are all is sathosi simply because you are all part of the implementation of the satoshi idea of a decentralized payment system called "bitcoin".

will added Influencers and Fudsters, do not you think that Bitcoiner and Bitcoin Maximalist are pretty much the same?
there are claims that Regular and Enthusiast are the same as well, and for me, Regular is more like a Investor, and Enthusiast a more technical guy that follow trends, maybe I am wrong

It's up to you because this is your poll, If I have suggested something that is already in your poll it's because some of your options don't have any description when I have posted my suggestion. Also if you think that being an Enthusiast is about the technical points of cryptocurrencies I think you should edit your description for it as "I read about cryptocurrencies and projects every day" doesn't really help differentiate it from being a regular guy in the crypto industry at least that's how I look at things.

Leave no FUD unchallenged
It's difficult to quantify.  HODLer and part-time FUD-buster, I guess.  Not sure how else to describe my "role".  Supporter?  Ideological proselytiser?  My contributions here probably lean more towards philosophical than technical, but I can verbally kerb-stomp some trolls in my spare time, so hopefully that's helpful in some small way.  I suppose Bitcoiner is the closest match in the list.

With that being said @OP I think you have left out some roles that are already existing in the industry and these are:

-Bitcoin Maximalist
-"Influencers"
-Fudsters/Nocoiners (which I doubt that someone will admit to this but obviously we know who they are in the forum)

you need to add another option for peeps like me: shitposter

since that option doesnt (yet?) exist i voted bitcoiner as thats the closest i guess

edit: ive mined btc (on gpus/fpgas back in the day) and alts currently (to sell for btc) and read here most every day. but thats about it.

will add shitposter, for the matter to see will someone state that he is a shit-poster Smiley

I Choose Enthusiast, Because every day I only read about news on cointelegraphs and other crypto news sites and look for good start-up projects.

I Hope One Day I Can Work in the Blockchain / Cryptocurrency Industry.

I'm halfway from being a regular but I am not a newcomer at the same time. I am holding cryptocurrencies but it is just limited popular coins like BTC and ETH.

I am not regular here but I do read sometime when I have free time to keep myself updated.

ROLLBIT > Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino
- enthusiasts are trying to improve their earnings with good altcoin projects in their portfolio, within this bull period
I think that I belong to this point, but not reading about cryptocurrencies and projects every day  Grin
COmmonly I will be interested in some new projects that have been listed in top exchanges and see for the fundamentals and also the progress.
I have some altcoins that are not into the top 10 and I love them for short-term investment and also preparation for the altcoin season.
Although sometimes, I always think that it may be risky, this is the way, I only will take the risks that I can afford.

I don't think there's a need to have "Bitcoiner", "enthusiast", and "regular". Since, I'd like to think if you are a regular, you're enthusiastic about Bitcoin, which by every definition probably means you are considered a "Bitcoiner" by everyone outside the industry, and visa versa for all of these.

I do agree with your point since I don't see any difference when categorizing yourself in one of the 3 as you can be all of them. If someone can said that he is a "regular" then he probably had reads projects on a daily basis and news about cryptocurrencies which he can be called as an "enthusiast" as well.

With that being said @OP I think you have left out some roles that are already existing in the industry and these are:

since I added Bitcoiner as an option, there is a competition between Enthusiast and Bitcoiner option
maybe Bitcoiner would be without competition if was there from the start

nevertheless, interesting enough that there is no project owners, or they do not want to declare as such

Bitcoiner only.. None of the other categories describe me..
Oh, well I guess I own some xcp, but they are bitcoins too..

I don’t read about new projects often, really don’t much care..
Don’t work in crypto.. Don’t own any projects..

Just a Bitcoin idealist.. HODL

Enthusiast is as far as I'm likely ever to go in the crypto space, and that's fine by me.  I'm happy just watching what bitcoin does and how it's slowly being adopted worldwide.

I don't exactly read bitcoin news every day or even every week (outside of this forum), but I do get a lot of information out of bitcointalk.  Usually when something big in the bitcoin world happens, there are at least one or two threads about it.  I'm not sure how much the "mainstream" crypto news sites can be trusted; they kind of seem to me like gold/silver websites like kitco--there's a huge bias toward gold/silver and the reporting isn't really objective.

Probably everyone who visits this forum daily will be enthusiasts. We have an interest in cryptocurrencies, some have a penchant for bitcoin or alternative coins. But I can relate myself to both beginners and ordinary ones, since there is more and more information every day, and we are constantly learning something new.
But if we talk about the preferences of coins, then this is of course bitcoin.

this is really true, crypto is really dynamic industry and things are going on a fast track, that brings a lot of innovations, but also hacks and scams with it
you should be a constant learner to be up-to-date with industry developments

nevertheless, most of innovations are happening outside from core Bitcoin, in my opinion

You have a point but my view is more in line with Google's definition of Bitcoiners:

Quote
bit·coin·er
/ˈbitˌkoinər/
Learn to pronounce
noun
a person who uses or mines the cryptocurrency bitcoin.

Somewhere on twitter I recently read this definition: "They say bitcoiners live in their moms' basements... What they don't say is who bought her the house."

I kind of liked this version. Cheesy

Crypto Swap Exchange
I voted for "Bitcoiner" but I do consider myself to be almost all of the above options [yes, that also includes "Newcomer" since I'm still learning new things from time to time] apart from being a project owner [ATM]...

  • Results would've been more accurate if we had the option to vote for multiple roles.

There are so many differences in opinion when it comes to what defines a Bitcoiner. And what about Bitcoin miners? Are they professionals?
from my point of view, miners are professionals, they are practically working in the industry
