Why?
this really needs answering? it's the same number of coins as bitcoin ultimately. it has no usage. it's centralized. there might be security holes. if a few million were available right now the price would be more like 0.01. the only thing justifying any price is the near total lack of them.
He said he'll look at zcash at 0.1.
I was interested why anyone has a interest in that coin at any price
For some days/weeks before i saw zcash by myself as a good speculation coin. But since my studies i figured out that I'll probably lose my money. That's why i decided to not trade this coin. Doesn't matter at what price. It is just not existing for me.
Zcash is based on new cryptographic research that is very exciting and will provide many use cases. It brings value. So for me it's a question of value proposition. Since the technology is new and untested, has no usage or adoption and just launched I think there's a mismatch between current price and what I value it. It is my belief that the price will stagnate for a very long time and my target is sub 0.1 BTC. Until that time Zcash is of very little interest speculation wise as there's little money to be made in the downward spiral (unless shorting becomes viable, however I think this will take a long time too).
Everyone can see that the lack of supply and current price is madness. Once the price settles down to reality, I will have to look closer. Will I buy? Probably not at 0.1 BTC, but until that price it's so overpriced that it's not worth paying attention to at all. Assuming no catastrophic failure (e.g critical bug), at some price point it will likely be undervalued, and that is when I will buy.
Most altcoins even the scammiest ones still have value to this day. Zcash has something to offer, just not at this price.
