Yes, you’re quite right. The issue with this past update is that the Merit.txt file (the one that the forum releases every Friday, and that includes all sMerit TXs) has data running up until 2023-08-11 02:38:43, whilst the profile data was scraped on the 16/08/2023.

Normally I scrape the profile data as close as possible to Fridays, to be as near in sync as possible with the merit.txt file, but I couldn’t launch it this week until five days later than usual, causing a larger than normal discrepancy between the profile’s Merit counter and the sum of the Merits obtained as a result of the cumulative weekly merit.txt files. Since you received quite a bunch of Merits between the two dates, the algorithm that tries to determine the initial rank is thrown of its tracks.

Maybe I'm not understanding something, but I worked my way up to the rank of Hero starting as a Newbie, not a Member. I registered on the forum much later than the merit system and I got my merits starting from the rank of Newbie. And I got my Hero rank not this week, but last week, August 9.

Actually, I was got carried away this week with some other stuff, and planned to delay this specific update a day or two. Nonetheless, whilst (now) proceeding with the update, I’ve just encountered that one of my scraping processes that uses a third-party product is now blocked by Cloudflare, giving one of those "sorry you have been blocked" type messages.

 I’ll probably have to implement/port the specific affected process in python (as some of my other processes are), but it will take some time. Unfortunately, I likely won’t be able to get on to it over the coming few weeks since I won’t have enough hands-on dedicated linear time.

I see the merit dashboard hasn’t been updated yet this week.
I guess someone is taking a well-deserved vacation!

Since last Friday’s Merit.txt file included data up until 2023-06-30 02:45:08, we still need to wait for next Friday to be able to compile all the data for the complete month of June 2023. My last update of the file was on the 05/05/2023.

But I did skip June's update (with May's complete data) ... updated.

With a bit of luck, you won’t need to remind me next Friday (as happened before on a couple of occasions)...

Hello @ddmrddmr.
I am using this link to produce a visualisation on how merits are changed on the Italian dashboard.

When I tried to filter on the Italian dashboard, I saw the total amount of merits is far below the total amount exchanged on the board, while I had expected to be equal to that: I see only 105 merits exchanged, instead of more than 500 exchanged on the Italian board in May.
Am I losing something?
