Honestly, I don't really pay attention to the Ligue 1. But since the departure of Messi and Ramos to PSG, I'm a little bit interested in seeing PSG play. If you look at the squad inside, they are a team with many stars. It can be said that PSG is a dream team plan even though some players are not young anymore. Last year PSG was in second place in the final standings, having one point difference with Lille. Actually, if you look at the composition of PSG's players, they are more favored, but it seems they are not lucky. This year I think PSG will win the Ligue 1.

Agreed. I wasn't following the Ligue 1 very much before. I just sometimes watched the games of the big teams in the league. But now, everything has changed for me.  Grin  As Messi has joined PSG, I've started to have an interest in PSG's next games with Messi. And I'm going to watch the Brest game as it's going to be Messi's first game with the team.

My condition is the same as yours. I used to look at the highlights and statistics of Ligue 1 matches to make bets. But after Messi joined PSG, I decided to enjoy all the upcoming matches of PSG. I don't want to miss Messi's gameplay, I hope I don't find it boring to enjoy PSG matches.

Messi is a legend now. And I was hoping to see him against Brest. But it turned out that he didn't play in this match also. He still lacks match fitness. Unless this condition changes, we won't see Messi. But there are speculations like Messi will be able to play against Reims, in their next match I mean. I hope that it's true.  Smiley

Paris Saint-Germain started three for three. They don't do mistakes and captured the leadership. They did it without Messi and Neymar, I wonder how they will play with Messi. It looks like everything is going good for PSG.
Idrissa Gueye's long range strike was great. Also we have to say that Brest goalkeeper was pretty bad today. As long as PSG score more than their opponents, conceded goals are not a problem.

This is a good question for those thinking that Messi is the only Key to Champion league or that Paris SG is weak without the last contract signed contract with Messi.
And from what i can see, even Pochettino follow the mess by keep talking about Messi and the Champions League. I find it useless to keep talking about Messi even when we discuss games he wasn't present !
I think this not a good sign for other PSG players in terms of enthousiasm and psychology when they feel that their strong team as always used to be, becomes in potential fearness without Messi .
Journalists are the ones who keeps asking about questions about Messi, Pochettino only responds to their questions, but it is getting annoying, Messi is a really good player we all know that, and of course he can add a lot to the squad, but like you said other players will feel inferior to Messi and be reminded of that all the time, even if they win the Champions league, the media is going to put the spotlight on Messi, even without him they reached the semi-final and the final in the last two years, all the players should get the attention they deserve.

The new week has started with the Brest - PSG game. We didn't see Messi this time again. As he is lacking match fitness, the manager didn't prefer him. Neymar also wasn't in this game. But PSG were like always. They crushed Brest 4-2 away. I really liked Herrera's performance that he got 1 goal and 1 assist. And Kylian Mbappe scored his first goal in this season.

I still haven't watched PSG's first games much. Because I'm waiting for especially Messi to start playing. I hope that he gets his training as soon as possible and gets ready for the next game.

Yes PSG won today but still they conceded 2 goals, of course PSG's defense is in the spotlight Brest is not a strong team scoring 2 goals is an achievement even though they lost
What happens if PSG against another European team against a local team conceded more than 1 goal this should be a coach's attention

Until now there is no single official source indicating that Messi or Neymar will play that game against Brest. Pochettino already indicated that he is studying whether to include Messi or not in that game. Comparing to the previous match and for the moment, only Di Maria, Verratti, Donnarumma, Marquinhos will be additionall ypresent with the team in Brest.
Brest is not a big club in Lique I so PSG can beat them without those stars. Messi just came back after a long vacation and he needs one month of training to play in real matches. PSG are powerful and they don't need Messi only for Lique I. They need a healthy Messi for Champions League.
You're right with what you said but Brest did play well in today's game and looking at the game stats they conceived just 8 fouls while PSG conceived 7 despite their leading which means we should expect a lot of good playing from Brest this season.
Having said that, I don't know if it is me alone, why do you guys only believe the Champion league is the only reason PSG signed Messi?

Brest has had a draw before this can also be a threat to PSG because it should not be careless to underestimate it, even though we already know that PSG have a myriad of quality players but when the game progresses it can be difficult.
But I'm sure it will be another PSG win.

There is nothing to worry about Brest. PSG has already taken a 2-0 lead against Brest. I am enjoying the match. Ander Herrera scored the first goal for PSG and Mbappe scored the second. Mbappe was expected to score today. He is an extraordinary player. Brest could not make any on-target shots in 40 minutes. The ball possession of the Brest team is only 26%. The dominance of PSG players throughout the match is spectacular.
I think now it's safe to say PSG will win this, because the two goals lead for reduced to one when Brest scored one goal to make it 1:2 now Gueye has added another goal making it 1:3 PSG aren't doing badly without Messi, sergio ramos and even neymar, other top European clubs in the UEFA champions league would be watch them closely, I think they are my favorite for the UEFA champions league 2021/2022.

Paris SG played great. I agree with you that apart from Messi and Neymar, PSG is playing very well. But none of their opponents were strong. However, they have conceded 4 goals in 2 matches against weak opponents. Defenders should perform with a little more responsibility. If Donnarumma had been the goalkeeper, they might not have conceded these 4 goals.

This is as expected, that PSG will win Brest, also never a surprise for me, PSG have the highest chance to win the Ligue and this is not new.

It is usually not about which team is better when it comes to football, better teams will win most of the time and that's just how it goes, but even the team that is at the bottom could end up beating the team at the top time to time.
It happens frequently that weak team can also win, teams that are about to relegate can even win a leading team, it happens. That aside, also a match can end draw between strong and win team, if a bettor take straight win, he also lose. But about PSG match of today, it is more certsin that PSG will win unless good players were not used. The chances that strong team will win is higher but there are exceptional cases.

For example, Liverpool 2 seasons ago had an unbeaten streak for a long time, maybe 30 games? Something like that, you know who was the first team that managed to beat Liverpool that season? Watford, the team that is back on premier league now but relegated that same exact season.

So, a team that relegated gave Liverpool the first loss after 30+ games, THAT does happen in football. However I do not see PSG losing this game, this is not one of those games, PSG has a big fire in their gut and they really want to beat everyone they face and with that type of fire I do not think that there are many teams in the whole world that could beat PSG.

According to Flashscore, Lionel Messi will not play tonight due to lacking match fitness. But it looks like Neymar will start playing. I see that the lineups haven't been announced yet.

It's an easy game for PSG of course. I've just started waiting to see Messi playing. It's my main goal for this league for now.  Grin

Yet again PSG not going with their first squad and going with the second squad against the teams in France. PSG currently leads 0-1 against Brest. On flashscore it says for Neymar that its coaches decision that he is not in the squad for me thats totally wierd

Seems that neymar, di maria and marquinhos will not start this game either and with messi absence i think pochetino will give the chance once more to same squad to prove them self and provide better performance than the last two games and he want to create a team to dominate this year by having a strong squad so he will have choices if some players are injured.

Messi has been with Barcelona for a long time, he will have trouble adapting to the new team. There are many differences between the strategy of Barcelona and the strategy of PSG. However, since Messi has played with Neymar before, I believe it will not take long for Messi to adapt to PSG. Moreover, all the players of PSG are experienced enough. It shouldn't be too much of a problem to adapt to such an experienced squad.
It will not be hard for a good player to get adaped, if Messi adapt, it is not because he has played with Neymar before in Barcelona, it is normal for players to adapt, players like Messi should give up to standard, but what I am thinking about is that he has never played before in any league or any club, he has been in Barcelona still his childhood, but I know he should be professional and good enough to play better in PSG or any other strong club, all I can say is for us to expect the best of Messi this season, we should expect the best of PSG.
Brest is a small team and this match is not really important for PSG so I think that Mauricio Pochettino doesn't need to use his super star players for this match. Moreover Lionel Messi would certainly want to make his debut with a good performance therefore he needs to be as trained as possible.

The match is definitely important. But Brest is the easy opponent. So even if PSG forms a slightly weaker squad, they will win. Because even though the squad is a bit weak, but this squad is capable of defeating any strong team. It is certain that Mbappe will be on the team. He alone can knock down Brest's defense.

If there is no miracle in the match then PSG will easily defeat the Brest team. My guess is that PSG will win 2-0. Although Messi, Neymar, Ramos and Donnarumma will not perform in thi match, but PSG has good enough players without them. Mbappe, Icardi and Di Maria are enough for the attack against Brest. PSG will easily win today .
I'm waiting for Messi and Neymar to play but the news says they will be out and will be watching in the stands then when will they play? whether in week 4 or 5 it seems that Messi is still being rested. I've been waiting for this since Messi has officially joined PSG.

Yes you're right, it has even been confirmed officially that they won't participate to this match unfortunately Undecided
But according to the french newspaper Le Parisien, they might play sunday 29th august against Reims Smiley
https://www.leparisien.fr/sports/football/psg/brest-psg-messi-neymar-et-paredes-absents-du-groupe-19-08-2021-QFWTEIC2J5BGDKSNN5FMGQLQEQ.php
When all of them are available for matches, PSG will have two powerful squads that are able to beat all clubs in Lique I. They will complete Lique I 10 rounds before the final days, I believe so.

The appearance of Donnarumma damages the solid position of Keylor Navas. However, having Navas as a substitute goalkeeper is great for PSG. They will have a safe goal with official or substitute goalkeeper.
