Jurgen Klopp have targets to beat this season, that's were we get the whole worrying face during game time and also planning ahead to gather his squad back on track. Liverpool playing in the Europa League, more like a decline performance for them but they will cope and try to win the title as a medium to bounce back to the big boys competition which is the UEFA Champions League, it's been on every Liverpool player's mind and they're crucially working towards it. Liverpool defeats against Toulouse is not even considered significant to the team and the coach, they have important games to play in the English Premier League and they will definitely shoot their best shot.
Even though in reality Liverpool can still qualify from the group stage with the remaining games, they should be able to get it earlier if they manage to beat Toulouse. However, even for a team as big as Liverpool, this is not going well enough and they have to be more patient to get good results in the next match. Focusing on two active competitions is quite confusing for Kloop because they also have to focus on the domestic league considering that they have the opportunity not only to finish in 4th position but also as a team challenging for the next title. Maybe that's why Kloop wanted to save energy from some of his key players in the previous match against Toulouse and even though the result was not what he expected, Kloop will certainly fix it all.
Jurgen Klopp seems to be focusing his squad on playing optimally in the Premier League. But even in the match against Toulouse we could see Liverpool playing very well. In fact, they continued to control the game very well. But Toulouse were smarter in taking advantage of the opportunities they got in this match. Meanwhile, Liverpool wasted more opportunities. But Klopp's focus seems to be on the match that will take place today in the Premier League, namely against Brentford. And everyone knows that Brentford always makes it difficult for the strong teams in the Premier League. So Klopp seems to be thinking about this and he wants to maintain the top 4 ranking currently occupied by Liverpool in the Premier League.

But I still feel amazed by West Ham who seem to be focusing their club more on playing more optimally in the European League. Because in the Premier League it seems that it will be very difficult for West Ham, who have currently even dropped to 13th place in the Premier League. So West Ham's hope at the moment seems to be only in the Europa League. And it looks like we can be sure that West Ham will progress to the next stage.

Yeah but Roma always make this kind of games in the european competitions, i dont know why this happen, but seems like they relax too much in this games, can you remember when they lose 6-0 against BodoGlimt in conference league two years ago?, and was Mourinho the coach and they ended up winning the tournament after all.
Mourinho always has a brilliant tactic to win the European competition. But the condition of AS Roma was different in the last season, they played quite consistently at that time. For this season, I doubt if AS Roma can win this competition because there are other stronger teams and can play more consistently than AS Roma. I'm even not sure if AS Roma can reach the final round of this European League.

Brighton will most likely qualify from the group phase, I think winning one more match will make them qualify, of course they will chase victory in the remaining two matches and become group champions to avoid strong teams. The victory over Ajax opened up all these opportunities, but I am quite concerned about Ajax now, they are really down even though they used to be a strong team.
The next two matches may be more difficult for Brighton, but I agree that they are possible to qualify for the next round. Brighton must play all out, they want to stay longer time in this competition. They didn't get good results in EPL, they try to focus in Europa League. The upcoming match, they will play against AEK Athens away. I don't think it will be easy to steal points in AEK Athens home. But I still believe Brighton will get points in that match because they actually have a better squad.

Toulouse gave it their best shot in this game, Ngl. I didn't watch the game even though my money was on Liverpool and it's lost obviously but I heard from others that Liverpool was once again robbed by VAR. It's hearsay now until I see the highlights. Somehow I felt Liverpool was going to lose today but due to the fact that I'm always biased with my selection when it involves Liverpool, I still played it. The issue is not about resting players. Klopp usually rotates the squad to give players not getting enough PL time the opportunity to get some game time in. Most times, it's enough to finish the job but some days ir isn't. Today is one of such days.

One of the common excuses of modern day football managers is they complain bitterly whenever they lose a game that the VAR decision doesn't go their way but will still not complain whenever it favours them in other games and I think that new tricky way of avoiding blames is absolutely not good.
The Toulouse win against Liverpool on Thursday was well deserved if you ask me because the team played with more determination for a win than the English Premier League club.

My only concern is that the status quo VAR systems don't perform as excellent S we thought it would during the inception. And also, it's human nature to complain if things doesn't go the way we want them to and has very little to actually do with VAR. Managers of the past didn't do it much because at those times, whenever a referee made a decision, it's final. And yes, I acknowledged the fact that Toulouse was exceptional in that game. I even mentioned it in my reply quoted above.

The loses from Slavia Prague was very surprising result because at that time Roma was favourited to win the match and this makes Roma had same points with Slavia Prague but Roma chances to qualified still quite high because for upcoming match they only fight against Servette and first met from both team looks very smooth because at that time Roma can able to win with big scores 4-0 and i know draw result is enough to Roma to qualified to the next round but if Roma want to avoid playoff matches i think they should be finish at first place on group standings so Roma have to keep winning in the last 2 matches remaining with big scores if they want automatically qualified to round of 16

Yep, even we were surprised by AS Roma's defeat. even though, Slavia Prague should not be a big and very tough team. However, these two teams will qualify if we refer to the points they earn. the difference is, which team will enter the top 16, and which team will have to go through the playoffs later. However, if Roma want to become champions in this group G phase, they have to win the remaining matches with a landslide score. Also, without conceding. In essence, what I said is the same as what you posted in this thread.

Well, let's talk about the progress of this match. In essence, both teams both won the match at their respective headquarters. But what really annoys me is that Jose Mourinho always implements strange patterns for his squad. I mean, in the first meeting Roma won the match with an offensive system pattern. and when they visited Slavia's headquarters, Mourinho changed his pattern and system. even though in terms of player quality, Roma is superior. In fact, the course of this match was quite balanced. Slavia dominated in the first half, while Roma started to be aggressive and dominated in the second half. Likewise, in terms of opportunities, Slavia is much better.
Well, this is one of Mourinho's weaknesses when his team plays away games. they don't have the confidence to come up with an offensive system.

By the way, what I analyze does not necessarily agree with others.

And for Brighton, this is a big opportunity for them to focus well on their the European league because the European league is one of the opportunities for them to win trophies this season. In the domestic league, of course Brighton has no chance of winning the title because other team are stronger than them, so the European league is a place where they have to fight as best as possible this season.
The competition at the Europa this season is very tough as compared to other seasons, because there are many big team in their good form participating in the Europa this season, and others who are playing in other leagues aswell.

They will further channel their energy into getting the best they can from the Europa, thereby increasing the competition in the Europa then it is now, I think after the group stage, the competition may get even though and Brighton may not have that form to stand the pressure that may come with it, so I'm no thinking they stand a chance to win the title as against other bigger team there fighting to really get the title.

So I said that Brighton must be able to beat AEK Athena in the next match because if they get 3 point then they will be safe enough to qualify for the next round. In the first match, AEK Athena certainly managed to beat Brighton and in the second leg, of course the situation could change if Brighton were able to play better to find victory. On the other hand, for the time being in group B, of course Ajax has a smaller chance because it is already far behind the team above it.

The remaining two matches will be quite crucial for them in securing tickets to qualify for the next round. But I am sure that with the quality that Brighton has they will be able to take one place to qualify for the round of 16. Marseille has the opportunity to qualify as group winner if they can maintain the good performance they have shown so far.
Brighton coming into tge European competition should know it’s a one that requires lots of seriousness and they should try as much as possible to keep winning streaks because most teams in Europe could pose some offset when it comes to the competition, so it’s safe to secure all 3 points when necessary rather than waiting to get the calculators back during the fixture like in the case of Manchester United

With 2 matches to go, I think Brighton has a very good side that’ll pose a threat but consistency is key in Europe to be successful, cause they need to do everything possible to win their remaining 2 games and qualify for the next round, well I believe in De Zerbi he'll do everything possible to make it happen.

Roma sometimes doing shit to its performance. If we are seeing the line and we will know that if roma is trying to get perfect result but it was losing against slavia praha with very bad scores. It's very embarassing lose from roma.
This club was playing so badly against praha which is unbelievable for me to see that. I never expect roma to lose against low tier like this. Roma obviously plays like shit.

It was using belotti and lukaku. These cuys were not even able to score at least a single goal against praha. This makes me feel doubt to call roma as a strong contender to win the game.

It seems like Brighton has a greater chance of qualifying for the round of 16 after the victory they achieved in the match against Ajax. This was quite an important victory for them because the additional 3 points made them sit in 2nd place. Apart from that, Brighton has a better opportunity in the next two matches because if they manage to achieve 2 win in the next match, it is very likely that they will qualify as group winner.

I don't think they can win the European League because the competition is certainly very tough, especially Liverpool and Leverkusen. Of course they will try their best but my prediction is that they will only reach the semifinals and this is an extraordinary achievement considering Brighton's development so far.

Today is one of such days.

Still there shouldn't be any problem for Liverpool after this loss. They are already comfortable in the Europa League and they just don't want to lose momentum too much in the Premier League on one hand. The rotation decision was completely the right thing to do. They just left two points in the Luton match in the end. They need their main starting eleven players fit for the Brentford match next.

To be honest I expect to see Liverpool being very competitive for the Europa League title. They are chasing the Premier League title primarily maybe but I don't expect them to get eliminated by a small team in the Europa League at the same time. But I can't be sure about what they can do against other big title contenders.
Even though they lost this match their position in the standings for the Europa League was very comfortable and indeed even though Klopp's rotation did not go very well in this match but there was a positive thing that could be taken including for some of their young players.
In this match we can see that Liverpool are still very good in possession and opportunities even though the finishing is not going well but on the other hand it is certainly a positive result even though they lost 3 points.
Now when their position is quite comfortable in the standings, it is also not wrong for Klopp to rotate his players and save the energy of the main players to make them ready when competing with competitions that they think are important later.

I had it in mind but wasn't brave enough to place a bet on the game. Also when you takeba look at the game Roma played weekend to that midweek Europa League game, they played against a poor side Lecce and they still played poorly than the opposite side.
Lecce should have won that game only if they had defended very well until the very end. They had a good comeback into the game bit that didn't define and defends how they played woefully. Same results on Thursday night and people say it was shocking?

Same Lecce has just held Ac Milan to a Fulltime Draw. Ajax needs a new coach, I don't know who's in charge but I can tell they didn't hurt Brighton enough to score a goal.

Liverpool are already their group leaders and will be qualifying with first position, and what I can say about that match was that they did not take it seriously since they are already topping the group, they thought it was a match they were going to just win convincingly without stress, but they didn't know Toulouse were well prepared for that encounter, and wanted to qualify by all means. So a win for them has given them a chance in qualifying.Liverpool will be facing Brenthford in the EPL,and it is indeed going to be a tough match for them because we all know what Brenthford are capable of doing. The reds had a draw in their last match against Luton, and would want to bounce back with a win by all means,so I think they will thrive towards getting three points in this one.
Did not expect Liverpool to lose this match at all. The funny thing is Liverpool actually dominated the match in terms of having possession of the ball. But Liverpool was unable to do much with it. They were able to make things interesting in the end by scoring in the 89th minute of the match. But I have to say performance from the Liverpool was below average. The accuracy needs to be better from Liverpool. I don't know what to say then the fact that this is a match probably nobody expected Liverpool to lose. And at the same time, I have to give credit to Toulouse.
Certainly would have been better, but at the same time. I also agree that it is not the end of the world for Liverpool. They have another competition to think about. And Liverpool is a team that will consistently have to think about both the English Premier League and the Champions League as well. So probably if Liverpool actually ends up losing in matches like this, where it will not matter if Liverpool wins or loses, I think we can actually overlook the results not being in favour of Liverpool. But I think as soon as we enter the later stages of the competitions, Liverpool is not going to have that luxury for sure
I think getting the europa cup is more important for them, because it would be highly unlikely for them to get the premier league title, and considering how good other teams are right now, it would be very difficult compared to getting europa, FA cup is another one they "may" win, but even that is too hard. This is why I think it is important for them to focus their talents here, so that they would win at least one title. In a season given the chance of winning EPL or FA or Europa, the biggest chance for them is clearly Europa.

However, if they do think that resting their players is more important, then they know what they are doing and Klopp is a far better manager anyone here can ever be, so he must know what he is doing and he is making calculated decisions. This means that he wants his players fresh, and that is understandable, after all being top four is important for them as well, it does bring in a lot of talent for the people for sure, and a lot of money.

Yeah actually one of there biggest mistake was underestimating Toulouse because they feel that they could easily beat Toulouse with many goals but little did they know that performance could sometimes vary, to my greatest surprise as big as Liverpool they were playing with tension, they hardly settle with the ball for a minutes without Toulouse collecting it from thrm.

The first half and second half was not easy on Liverpool because Toulouse were able to dominate them from the first half to second half, however it was only on the last minutes of the game Liverpool were able to peak form and by then it was already late for them but perhaps if the had given them more time Liverpool would have equalised.
I was also surprised that Liverpool was able to be beaten by Toulouse and Liverpool's delay in making their best performance in the second half also cannot be used as an excuse because basically every match has a time that has been determined by the rules. So delays in utilizing the available time will always be a disaster for every team, especially if they underestimate their opponents in a competition so that Liverpool has received the results they deserve even though it is a very disappointing result for Liverpool fans and also a surprising result for me.
Yeah you are right because I was thinking that since Toulouse was dominating them on the first half that they will work on there strategy to stop Toulouse from dominating them but instead they came back playing the same way they did on there first half, which gave Toulouse more edge to outperform them.

The match was really surprising to everyone honestly even Toulouse did not believe there performance on that match because based Liverpool excellent record this season Toulouse never believe they could even play draw with them let alone win Liverpool but there determination gave them the courage to play the way they did.

Liverpool missed the privilege of qualifying for the next round with two games to spare. A win would have been better for the team to enable them to face their tight schedule in the EPL. Qualifying for the next round would have made Jürgen Klopp rest more players. Indeed the loss didn't affect their chances of qualifying since they are still the group leaders and one more win will take them to the next round. But it was clear that Liverpool was not at its best which can also make one assume that Toulouse was underrated. Individual defensive mistakes caused some of the goals Liverpool conceived and an example is Kosta Tsimikas's mishandling of the ball that led to the first goal by Donnum. Toulouse seems to have placed more importance on the Europa League than the Ligue 1 where they are in 14th position.

Liverpool was not playing seriously against toulouse. Look at the line up first before the match. It's clear liverpool was only trying to give the secondary players in the club chance to play in the main squad.
Losing using the main squad may a bit acceptable but i think that anyone know that if liverpool was the worst one on its secondary line up. I think that toulouse can be beaten easily if the club will be playing so well with its main squad.

So delays in utilizing the available time will always be a disaster for every team, especially if they underestimate their opponents in a competition so that Liverpool has received the results they deserve even though it is a very disappointing result for Liverpool fans and also a surprising result for me.

No surprises to me. Liverpool's secondary squad was so garbage compared with the main squad. No doubt that if liverpool was suffering the lose against toulouse.
Klopp can also reevaluate the performance from the secondary squad which is far from his expectations.
It's caused by liverpool can be beaten by toulouse easily.

Liverpool's defeat was because they seemed to have underestimated Toulouse from the start, and in that match Toulouse played very solidly and didn't make many mistakes. Liverpool itself deliberately rotated players which was carried out by Klopp because even if they lost this match, it wouldn't be too worrying, because 99% would pass. Apart from that, they also maintain the players' fitness for the league because Klopp's main focus is of course the league.

Even though if you look at the match, Liverpool dominated possession of the ball better, but unfortunately Liverpool did not take advantage of this opportunity, so Liverpool was forced to accept their first defeat in the European League.

The chances of qualifying can still be changed because currently Touluse has collected 7 points and Liverpool 9 points. If the remaining 2 matches Liverpool can take full advantage of the remaining matches and not underestimate the opposing team Liverpool will have the potential to qualify, because Touluse could take over first place. if Liverpool lose opportunities in the next 2 matches.
