None of my miners switched over.  Wait, it must have happened when I took them offline for 5 minutes. Looks like I timed it perfectly w/o even knowing.

Is Litecoinpool down for anybody else?

It was down for a few minutes a few hours ago. None of my miners were connecting to the pool and I saw on the site it was down to 30mhash combined.

I'm really glad you opened up registrations. Your pool is the best!

Argh!!! I want to sign-up so badly but registration is currently closed, is there any way I can get on a waiting list?

Please send me an email (address is on the homepage). I will try to notify you when registrations open again.

Awesome, you're the man!! I love your miner too, I use it on both of my computers, one AMD and one Intel, when I make enough BTC to donate I'll send you something!

Pooler, think you could use this for LTC mining for your pool?

https://mining.bitcoin.cz/mining-proxy-howto

Unless I'm mistaken, that would require adapting the pool server to directly support the Stratum protocol. I don't think there's a server-side proxy that can take care of interfacing with pushpool.

At any rate, I had a look at the official documentation for the protocol, and its main feature appears to be extranonce rolling. In the case of Litecoin, this feature is useless, since the regular nonce space is large enough for all kinds of miners, including the fastest GPUs. (Even the rollntime extension is useless, unless it is used to share the same work unit among multiple miners using a proxy.)

While I'm at it, I would like to mention that there are at least two other (older) mining protocols out there, namely pushpool's binary protocol and the Multiminer protocol (MMP), and each has its advantages. Unfortunately, no mainstream miner supports the former, and only Phoenix seems to support the latter.

Pool is currently down due to yet another DDoS attack.
I noticed this morning.  Woke up to dead miners.  Someone really hates litecoinpool!

I heart thebaron
Pool has been running awesome for the last couple days and I have a feeling that we may have seen the last of the DDoS attacks for a while.

Thanks again pooler for continuing to return the pool back to life, especially considering what you have had to deal with recently.

With CGMiner now wide spread and failover being available to nearly every current miner, DDoS attacks are becoming less and less effective in disturbing the network as a whole.

the pool has been stable for a few days now, but some people who went solo/migrated to other pools dont seem to have noticed that yet.
this isnt the first pool to be ddosed, and probably wont be the last so people shouldnt let the ddos discourage them from using this pool, IMO.

just setup automatic failover, and get done with it.

The pool is under heavy DDoS attack again.

All miners who still haven't set up automatic failover to other pools or to solo mining are encouraged to do so as soon as possible.

Litecoinpool.org now still hold 30% hash rate, which is still pretty high.
Because attacker love ddosing litecoinpool.org as primary target, my suggestion is to raise the fee a bit to 6.5% and use the 1.5% fee to get a better server, if possible or as emergency funds if something bad happened (mining pool get hacked).

With 6.5% fee, maybe some people will move to other mining server or create their own.

You can reduce the fee back to normal again after things back to normal - more mining pool created, or some people leave to other server.

There are a lot of CPU miners at litecoinpool.org (which makes sense, since most of the other pools have moved to a fixed lower target), so I don't feel like increasing the fee further.

But! There are already two other public PPS pools out there, and both have lower fees than this one. They are notroll.in (4.8% fee) and Xurious's (3% fee). Both seem to work well and are run by serious and competent people, so I invite all GPU miners to give them a try.
