Bitcoin Garden: DPoS – The Hottest Thing in Blockchain; A Look Inside DCore DPoS Mining
https://bitcoingarden.org/dpos-the-hottest-thing-in-blockchain-a-look-inside-dcore-dpos-mining/

DECENT is on the verge of releasing a new miner voting tool for their DCore network which will make it easy for DCT holders to vote for miners in DCore. On the brink of this news, it’s beneficial to look deeper into how DCore mining works, why voting in DPoS (Delegated Proof of Stake) is so important, and why DECENT chose DPoS for their blockchain technology and platform.

In DCore DPoS consensus mechanism, stakeholders (DCT holders) have a responsibility to make sure the network is appropriately distributed to ensure the health and security of the blockchain. DCT holders do this by voting for delegates to become witnesses. It is important to point out that in DPoS, miners are often called witnesses and they are responsible for creating blocks in the blockchain. The number of active witnesses running the network is voted on by DCT holders and the more DCT one holds, the more impact each vote has. Currently, the DCore blockchain is maintained by 33 active witnesses.

Witnesses have a huge responsibility and are crucial to the integrity of the blockchain, therefore, they should not be chosen at random, instead, they should have a proven track record before being considered. Witnesses run servers (nodes) which process and organize data into blocks and validate them into the blockchain. Every block is created by one active witness who is chosen at random from the list of active witnesses. That witness is tasked with creating and validating a new block and adding it to the current blockchain. If a witness misses a block, it is passed to another active witness. This process happens extremely quick making DPoS the fastest consensus mechanism to date (5 seconds in DCore). Active witnesses also vote collectively for several parameters of DCore such as block size (2MB), block creation intervals (5 seconds), fees, and more....

Is there a link to the wallet with the DECENT ICO funds? Just curious how much has been spent so far, thanks.

I don't have one for you off the top of my head, but I have just added a task for our technical writers to add this information to our docs.decent.ch so stay tuned. I will try to remember to inform you here when that goes live.

that would be a good thing. Always good to keep track. Not to forget that some major projects also got the Bitcoin fork coins. So I think the decent team shouldn´t have any problems in the future regarding funding

In the first post, you can find the blockchain.info link to the ICO address. Here it is https://blockchain.info/address/33WDB3nsVHH5qafCAriPb8Jmb1e3ptsY4h.

4500 BTC has been spent already?! So what are they going to run out of ICO funds in the next 6 months?

They've taken out 4500 BTC, hopefully when the price was a lot higher. Doesn't mean they've spent it.

Why are you not validating my appeal? Its been months now since we talk about this. I proved that Coaxme is my account and got hacked.

Check out this article on mining and DCore. Great for anyone new to DPoS.

I believe many people who own coins that will be removed from bittrex will sell and some will buy Decent.

A lot of coins are delisting from Bittrex (Agrs, Maid)  because Bittrex is located in Washington State and needs to be SEC approval. Do you think Decent can be delisting from Bittrex. I hope not
Those current delisted events on Bittrex exchange looks terrible for investors. I hope that Decent will be not on the list, and also hope delisted coins will recover soon. What a sudden terrible nightmare for coins on Bittrex.

If you don't rely on one exchange the delisting is not big deal. Many exchanges out ther have high volume, users all around the world.
I agree with you, the exchange should depend on the project and not the other way around. Bittrex are just trying to follow the United state rules.
As you said there are many decentralize exchange growing very fast right now and they need good projects

Don't worry over a situation which didn't appear yet about Bittrex. If this happens somehow then too there are other good alternatives and that is not only exchange which drives the market. There will be many trading platforms in future as demand is on increase so enjoy the current moment and don't worry over supposed situation based on what/if this happens.

Anyone here having experience with the support of decentgo? Anyone knows how long they generally take to reply to a ticket? Thank you.

The Purchasing and Content functionality of DGo has been disabled. The wallet remains up and is the only way for users to sign up for an account for free.

We'll get to you as quickly as we can. Often you can leverage the community to help with minor issues. Check out telegram. https://t.me/decentch

Hello,

This is Advantages of the DECENT DPOS system:

- You get rewards even when offline.
- You do not have to run any servers.
- You only have to vote once with your account.
- You can switch votes to choose another delegate easily.
- You do not need luck to get rewards.

is this right??

Just to clarify, DECENT is the NPO that built DCore. DCore is the DPoS blockchain platform.

- A miner node needs to be running 24/7. Miss blocks and you won't make the active witness list.
- You should run a dedicated system with your node. (many run backups as well)
- Voting is basically as you describe.
- You need to be on the active witness list to receive rewards. So integrity of your node and profile are far more important than luck.
- DPoS does not rely on processing power, rather a low latency network. As such it is more energy efficient and sustainable than PoW mining.
- DPoS can easily perform 100s of transactions per second as apposed to 1s and 10s of transactions per sec.
- DCore also provides a system for seeders, making it quite unique in the cryptosphere.
