He has already made 28798 posts untill date and keep us posted with the regular bitcoin reports and you would find every third to fourth post by CB

Hmmm! Wall Observer is a sub forum of its own. Very interesting place, no wonder the pages is at 30k+ and yet there is no spamming. ChartBuddy always post the chat shown by aysg76 and drops a link below it which leads to somewhere in page 10k+ where the chart is explained. Good to know

Please where does CB post?
As already said by @fillippone CB is most frequent poster in the WO thread which is by the way most merited thread on the forum.

If you open up WO thread under speculation board then you would find his post and that are automated posting like this :

Chartbuddy had a bad month. He posted way less messages than in December and January. Maybe he’s losing some commitment to the forum

It is not his fault, blame pope Gregorius XIII.
In March all will be fine again!

Yes, February is usually a bad month for CB, but I bet that he can improve his number for this month.  If not this next February maybe the following February I bet he will beat his record!

Someone quoted this thread in one of my posts to show the most active users of the forum. I have seen ChartBuddy top the list consecutively. But since I have been in this forum I have never seen ChartBuddy drop a single post anywhere  Grin

I think ChartBuddy should be an exception in the list since the account post history says their posts are automated. So, it makes sense why the account has made it the most. It's posting on the wall observer thread only with bitcoin price chart.
It looks like ninjastic.space archives all posts from every user who posted on the forum during the month of February regardless of whether they were auto posts or not. But if those exceptions are needed to recognize more quality posters or at least some other generic poster then I think bounty hunters who post 100% about bounty reports should also be removed from the list as they are of almost no use to the forum. Imo

do you have there maybe a way to exclude this user from all your statistics? Smiley
It seemed like Ratimov could do it, but of course he had to do it manually by identifying the users individually that he wanted to exclude from the list. But since this thread is about forum activity, excluding one or more users from the active list might render the statistics incomplete.

Chartbuddy had a bad month. He posted way less messages than in December and January. Maybe he’s losing some commitment to the forum. Let’s see if he goes back to his usual Standard of over 730 messages posted in March!

Maybe he was upset about the bitcoin followed by dip after Dip Grin and made a promise to come back with some more boost and now as prices have regained some pace we might expect the same from our WO buddy CB

Number of registration shows a significant drop. Is it because we have 28 days in the month? I think yes. Otherwise, we could see ~11000 on average.

And we won't fix it.
Of course mate, I will not force anyone including you to fix it because I only share my opinion to be better. So far spambuster also has quite a number of spam reports on the board to moderators, and I think it's another way to fix it for the better if the poster who got his post removed realizes what he's doing.

It so happened in the crypto industry that altcoins are closely associated with spam, fraud, money loss and various other abuses. Such is the peculiarity of this part of the crypto industry. So it is not surprising that all this is also reflected in the discussion of this part of the crypto industry, where spam, scams and other abuses also dominate.
I realized it too because the altcoin industry is mostly inhabited by scammers to earn easy money and fill their troughs with the investments of innocent people.

The Altcoin section is almost entirely spam, so few people go there, and even more so reporters. What is the point of cleaning a place that is 99% garbage? It’s easier to leave everything as it is, it definitely won’t get any worse from this. It's just that the generation of low-value posts and spam in that section is so huge that if you send a whole regiment of reporters and moderators there, they are unlikely to keep up with everything.
I know the altcoin discussion board is dominated by bounty hunters who often deal with altcoin or token. They make posts based on their habits and interests in the forum while some contributors who are interested in altcoin (investing or trading) are only a minority there. I just thought that as long as the percentage of spam can still be reduced why should we leave it in the trash forever. Those are my thoughts at the moment, but it's true that I haven't been very interested in altcoins so far that I hardly see anything else there so far.

I don't know how it can be fixed in the future because the altcoin board has become an important part of this forum especially regarding user traffic and forum stats.

I haven't visited the altcoin section in a while, and I probably should since I have an interest in some of them.  The section is just so damn spammy, though.  Everytime I click away from it I feel like I have to rinse my eyes out.  There are definitely some good threads that get started, but more often than not they're quickly overrun with shitposters.  That said, the last time I noticed that was maybe a year ago.  Have things changed much?
Looks like there should be a lot of active forum contributors with a thread there in an effort to prevent a lot of spam or shitposting in altcoin board. I'm sure if there were lots of thread that allowed self-moderation on that board then spam and shitposts could be reduced. Meanwhile, current spambusters can only report as much as they can because they don't have much time to be active 24 hours a day submitting reports. So it should be a good solution if we want good quality on various board.

I personally also rarely post on altcoin boards now although there are some discussion that I like. Conditions are not much different from before although mods and some spambusters are working pretty hard on that board.

Whether you invest in altcoins or not, there are legitimate discussions going on in the altcoin section, which are sometimes very high quality. It's just that because of it being one of the most popular sections, it comes with the territory that there's a lot of spam there too. We must remove thousands of posts a day in that section.

The statistics on the OP are largely inflated due to the activity in announcements threads, they seem to be absolutely full with artificial comments, or when a project has caught the eyes of many, actually has some decent conversations. I must admit though, a lot of projects  seem to look to artificially increase the hype of their project via bumping services, which also play a part in these statistics since there are thousands of accounts which partake in it.

Thank you for the input, I appreciate it.  I've always loved this forum, with its warts and all--even when the shitposters and trolls were seemingly running the place.  Maybe I posted more because I kinda-sorta bonded with members like Vod, Lauda, Jet Cash, TMAN, and probably a few others who've disappeared.  And yeah, I did participate in a lot of the drama threads.  Sometimes they could be fun, depending on how serious the drama was.  There hasn't been any real tension going on that I know of in quite some time, and often that sparks up some great threads.
Yeah, that's another thing. Users do tend to slot in with other users, and once some of those users go it can effect the whole group. However, I think drama has definitely caused quite a few of our users, some definitely high quality to leave prematurely.

There's at least a collective effort going on to try, and clean up that section. It has gotten slightly better with the implementation of the bumping changes, and by that I don't mean that magically projects have stopped trying to artificially inflate their threads with fake conversations, but at least they aren't rewarded as much for it these days, and therefore when they do this  sort of thing, less users actually see it.

I don't think that quite fits the description of your habits though, I expect you've either stopped posting in discussions you've had before or might not be as motivated or eager based on your circumstances. Some users will constantly participate in the same discussions, over, and over without an issue. I don't think that's something you do really.

I've got to get into the habit of checking to see if anyone has replied to my posts (as I just did with yours), because I've never really done that.  Maybe that's one reason why I feel like my posts are made in complete isolation sometimes.  Eh.

The Altcoin section is huge, and without knowing the statistics I'd say most reports are done within that section. I think hilariousandco suggested that the main Bitcoin marketplace also has a hefty contribution, but I don't see all of those so couldn't possibly comment accurately on that.

Thanks for posting this data, Ratimov.  Obviously I missed it initially, else I would have posted here earlier.  Am I seeing that chart correctly, that 55.5% of posts were in the altcoin marketplace section??  I would have lost that bet if I'd wagered on where most of the posts had been.

I was also surprised when I counted posts in the main section of the forum. I always thought that the popularity of altcoin themes is observed only in my locale, but in fact it is everywhere. Too bad we don't see as many posts about bitcoin on the main bitcoin forum as we do in the altcoin section.
This statistics of yours is an eye opener, if not to anyone buy to myself. Right from my newbie days till date I have not visited the Altcoin section. But I was shocked to know that somewhere exists in this forum exists with population and contributions more than the main bitcoin boards.

I have read somewhere that people suggested that Altcoin section should be removed...lolx, if this happens the aftermath of bitcointalk might not be tellable.

The Bitcoin community here has turned highly maximalist to the point where I've seen people get negative feedback just for mentioning other currencies (even myself).
What kind of currencies are these? If you show your support to a provably fraudulent project (e.g., Bitcoin SV), you're justifiably going to get red-trusted. Truth be told, most of those pump and wild-dump alts exist solely to disorientate from honest work.

Not to bash this very thread, but people give out more merit to useless statistics than they do to long-running Bitcoin projects.
Useless to you, isn't useless to everybody.
