Graet - It is Nov 5th and I have a Confirmed Credit Balance well over my threshold.   Why are the automatic payments not being sent out as usual?   An update would be most appreciated.

We have a new stratum setup on a separate vm for testing
URL: stratum+tcp://stratum.ozco.in:3333
Fixed a lot of the issues we were having, now we need some load to test Smiley
Cheers

ahh sorry, though anyone one the test server would have failover setup.
I did, but since us.ozco.in was technically still up, cgminer just sat there trying to mine on it.

Stratum test server is being shutdown, not performing to expectations

We are doing a fresh setup on a new server, will announce URL when we are ready to test again
Thanks to everyone that has had a go Cheesy

A little more warning would've been nice; I lost about an hour of mining. I left it overnight cause it was finally stable enough. Thankfully, the lack of fan noise woke me up and I switched it. Undecided

I had two miners pointing to the stratum pool.  Both ran just fine all night (my time).  But the widget showed the larger one (~2 gh) not running, even though it was.  Maintenance related?

For now I switched back to normal.

Also, question about how DGM works.  I've had both miners pointing to oz for a few weeks now without interruption.  When I do the math (2.5/679*50*.98), my payout should be about 0.18-0.19 per block.  Why does it start out at 0.13 and slowly work up?  If it did that for everyone then the pool would come out ahead on short blocks.

M
the widget - not sure - will check

DGM pays across round boundaries so you will start a round with credit
The pool does come out ahead on short blocks and behind on long blocks as shown on https://ozcoin.net/content/overview-bitcoin
This is how DGM works.

Thanks for the explanation.

We're approaching a 14 hour block.  I've had ~2.5gh pointed at oz for a number of weeks.  Yet my payout is currently at 0.154.  Is that because I was on stratum and things were bouncing around while I was sleeping?

CGMiner 2.8.7. I replaced "http://us.ozco.in:8331" with "stratum+tcp://us.ozco.in:3333" and it doesn't seem to be working. CGMiner is sluggish, and after ~45 minutes my Single was averaging ~400MH/s, but had a U: of ~2/min. Am I doing something wrong?
It's probably because of all of the server restarts over the past couple hours. It seems cgminer doesn't recover very well when a Stratum server goes down; it never fails over to the backup so it just sits waiting for ~3 minutes for the server to come back up.
It does fail over except under one circumstance: If the pool is still connected to cgminer, and is still sending cgminer work, but the pool is not successfully receiving shares. I will be addressing that soon. Any other situation, it does take longer to failover if the connection is not dropped cleanly as there is not always a reliable way of knowing the other end has stopped sending, but cgminer uses 90 seconds of silence from the server to assume that it has stopped responding since stratum mandates messages at least every 60 seconds. Try sticking it into debug mode from the display menu to see if it's still receiving messages. Without a backup however, all cgminer can do is regularly try and keep contact with the primary.

I set up a test config with no backup pools, just the one stratum server. I've also restarted CGMiner a few times, and it does the same thing.

ANNOUNCE stratum+tcp://us.ozco.in:3333 is live for anyone interested in stratum testing Cheesy

I'll keep an eye here and on IRC for a few hours - so far no issues Cheesy

I assume this "test" is live, not on test net?

Edit: NM, I can tell from my widget that I'm still getting hashes on production.

M
yes, we tested on testnet, then on a separate server, once we were happy with results we setup on one of our production servers for a "live test" Smiley
if this all goes well we will roll it out to other mining nodes over the next few days Smiley
