I do not think that bitcoin will reach 4 digits this year. what motive will push the price to more than double this year ? even after the halving btc will not reach 1000

i dont think that will happen, the highest bitcoin can rise is around 700$, but if halving is happening in this june maybe it can raise higher than 700$ but if rise until 1000$ it is quite impossible

$1000 is more then we expected, but not impossible.i think if bitcoin price goes to $500 in the end of this year,it'll be good sign for the future of bitcoin

Its gonna lower the bitcoin price, after all miners get in trouble.

I thought the real miners were calculated to be paying $150 per coin in costs? Though that was thought up a while back.

It's possible that Bitcoin's price reach 1000$ in this year, especially after the halving event, many users expect that the price will increase highly after this event so we can predict reaching some level like 1000$ for 1 BTC

Speculating about reaching $1000 this year is good if we see the price touch $700-$800 of example. That's when you have a reason to think that the price may touch $1000 again. At this point it faaaaaaaaaaar away.

The swarm is headed towards us.

I also hope it will help the bitcoin to rise t a higher amount but its not to predict of course so we will see what is gonna happen.
The halving can be a good thing but also a bad thing no one knows it.

The halving is a good thing as it reduce the supply of the new coins. It could maintain the bitcoin price.
Its gonna lower the bitcoin price, after all miners get in trouble.

The miners with cheap electricity price will not be in trouble. It is still profitable for them, so they will mine.

The bitcoin to the 1000 dollar is possible for sure I think its just a matter of time before this is possible.
Maybe at the end of this year it will happen, or at the holidays when the halving is done.

Price went back down to 415. While it should be getting to $500, so the 1,000 remark only sounds feasible if we hit 700`s.

Just hope for the halving to help the price instead of being a mutual price point.

In 2016, this year the 1k is possible for sure its just a matter of time before it will happen, you can already see the bitcoin growing.
Another thing why it would happen is because the halving that will come.

There are no guarantees but I got a really good feeling for 2016. We've seen a very boring 2014/2015 but for 2016 there are just too many things
which can make this a good year.

Most of the people here think the price will go up due to the block halving, and I think so too. But I am realistic enough to understand that the market can also go down a lot. That's why I keep my hopes aimed at the $600-$700 price level as that seems a fair enough price. If it goes higher than that, then it's great! If it doesn't, then no problem. All is good.

Its hard to say for what is going to happen with the value in the future. Because you never know what will happen and that is the problem.
I dont think it will reach the 1000. Because if it is rising. It rise very slowly so it need time. So we just have to wait.

More like 1 eth will be worth $1000 in 2016 while btc may be worth just $100.

nah you're going overboard with this etheruem thing, don't dream too much, it can fall back at any time, not lower than 0.01, but still along way for compete with bitcoin

the current bitcoin value has proven that is holding storng, so i can not see any sub 350-380 anymore
It has proven months after the pump and many years after the launch.I think there is a fair chance for ether to prove itself and if people start trading/using it with the current new prices then it will become much stronger with time and might never fall back to 4-5 dollars ever. Also the POS thing might take it to the moon in the long run for sure.

Well, there is also no reason for it to be lower than this and people who bought when it was the highest are not going to dump anyways. If we don't see any strong rules getting passed against it in near future then it could touch the thousand dollar mark in a couple of years.
For now, apart from the halving hype (halving is still far away), there are no arguments for higher prices. No new fundamental developments, no reasons for new money to flow into Bitcoin.
Also, people who bought at sub $300 prices, will wait for the halving effect and take profits as soon as the price is ripe.
The halving will also bring the Dip from miners with it but i think the Rise might eventually overcome it with time.

The halving can create a pump and a huge boost to the price of the halving, so its definitely possible but its the question if this will happen.
Due to the fact the bitcoin itself is unpredictable no one knows what will come to the bitcoin maybe it will rise to a high amount but I thing it will rise to max 800 dollar if I'm honest.

I am quite sure about bitcoin will rise more than $1000 as it have really big community behind it and i think after block halving price will sky rocket and will be more at more stable floor even it can go its all time high price into this year.
Block halving only won't get us far. To me $500-600 is the absolute top, if we won't get anything else in terms of development. If there is, e.g., an agreement on the block size, then yes we may talk about prices beyond these levels. Otherwise there is no reason this year to go up three fold from $350, on practically thin air.

Totally agree. I think the miners can survive with the current price after reward halving. Value increase is really related to supply and demand. Even with the supply drop, if the demand (or the benefit/use-ability of bitcoin) did not go up, we will only see a decrease in price.
