Don't spread yourself so thin, $100 each in 100 coins would probably be better than $10 in 1000 coins but it still isn't going to be a great strategy. Most coins will lose over time, you need to find a few winners and then cut the rest.
Definitely, you will lose and tired of your investment. $10 is not worth it of your effort, try to increase the amount and choose the right and good coin that will give a return of profit. Yes, it is better to think twice or more before investing in every coin.

Heres a fun thought game. So there is approximately 1200 coins on CMC. And maybe another 300? not listed. Suppose you invested $10 in each one today (this week? How long would that take?). That $15000 USD. Hodl it! Where do you think your total investment be in 1 year? 5 years? 10, 50, 100?
Would you be ahead? Under? Counting all forks, clones ect. How many of them would be dead?

Let's make some numbers
Optimistic:
Consider that 100 coins (10%) will be successfull, and will multiply its value by 100 (bitcoin has multiplied by x50 up to now, but let's be optimistic!).
You will gain 100.000$ for these coins.
You will loose 11.000$ for the non-successfull coins.
Good deal!
Pesimistic
Consider that only 10 coins (1%) success, multiplying its value by 50.
You gain 5.000$
You loose 11.000$
Bad deal...
Another idea is to invest only in the top 100 coins.
In the optimistic scenario you get 100.000 and loose 1.000.
In the pesimistic scenario you get 5.000 and loose 1.000.
Seems to be a safe bet... but... do you really think that the successfull coins of the future are today in the top 100?

You will end up with nothing at the end, one thing for a factis that more than 90% of this ICO projects will fail, it is a normal game for start ups so what you are doing is gambling with your money
I just know that the major exchange site will never try to add shit coin in the future and they will be failing. Rather than put your money in the shit coin and it may better to put your money on the project with live product.
It will take forever to buy so many coins so not practical to do. Agree with the posters

With the knowledge that 99% of coins will fail, it would not be profitable
it's wasting time. many shitcoins can only be traded at very small exchanges, which may disappear any time. besides, it takes too much time to monitor so many exchanges and coins

I don’t think it would end well. Most of these couns are true shitcoins that won’t be around in 5 years. I think a more interesting and potentially lucrative idea is to place $1000 in each top 15 coins (or even top 25 for sake of debate). I think you would come out ahead.
