Without adding the word Pizza in any debate ; all the OPs feel that the topic will remain incomplete. Pizza is the most favorite word (commodity) used by the posters. You are right while stating that fees will be more than the cost of pizza.
if you practically see; Pizza is worst for your health. It is made up of very fine floor which is very much dangerous for your digestion. So I suggest ; if anyone is sick of pizza he may just try it once in a month of two not more than that; if you love your health do not eat such foods. (though my third and fourth line does not relate to the topic} but just for the sake of health of all ; i could not stop mentioning this.

The fees aren't that high anymore, I've seen people posting that they did transactions with 1 input and 2 outputs for less than 20 cents. Merchants that accept Bitcoins for micro-payments, tend to not really care about fast confirmations, so you don't have to increase the fee to get it included in the next block.

i think btc not taking over other currencies he just expanding its reach because btc does not currently contribute much in terms of btc spending , in this case btc will be one step ahead of the currency because currently using btc almost all over the world but still can not replace the position of fiat for now, that was just i think Wink

Nice thread, I think that now that the fees are low again, and segwit adoption is increasing, and lightning network is also increasing it's number of nodes and channels quite rapidly (if you consider it's still in beta), we will definitely see the number of stores and merchants accepting bitcoin as a payment method grow in number. I don't understand why steem is not accepting bitcoin again already. Hopefully they will change their mind soon, as the big names start moving into bitcoin.

Actually no. Converting you BTC to fiat money you will be paying higher fees and slow processing. For example first you have to use any exchange to convert BTC to Fiat Money and these withdrawal charges are quite high. Then transfer Money to your bank account which take 1 or more days in processing.

So why not buy directly with BTC... nominal fees of headache of banking procedures are gone.

No not really... this is actually a misconception. Fee varies from few cents to couple of dollars. Don't use exchanges for Bitcoin payments, but use your wallet and do a direct payment.
