VPN makes us untraceable
No it doesn't. Don't lull yourself into a false sense of security.
Why sir? If you use a VPN it will hide your location and if you're just doing it for gambling purposes then it can make you untraceable and  you can access the site using VPN. I think that what VPN's for to hide your location

Well it stops your ISP/your employer/somebody on your local network from snooping through your traffic, but you're just moving the problem somewhere else.
Instead of your ISP or whoever looking at your traffic, you have to worry about the VPN provider or the VPN provider's ISP looking at the traffic instead.
Additionally I don't see what gambling has to do with anything  Huh

(Red highlighting mine)

One of the reasons to use a VPN is to disguise your location.  Since the gambling sites are apparently illegal in the USA, I am guessing that with a good VPN that has service (servers) outside the USA that gambling might now be accessible to Americans.  I have not tried this possibility out, however.  If anyone (American or whoever) HAS tried this out, well tell us!

I used NordVPN and ExpressVPN, both are awesome, and costly for monthly bill, but NordVPN is cheap if billed annually. Moreover both accepts Bitcoin, so you have the choice of using Bitcoin.
If you can afford ExpressVPN, go with it, loved it.

K128kevin2 is correct.  I just signed up with NordVPN, but mostly use Google Chrome.  So Google can follow along, and that of course includes email (at least my email).

Nonetheless, my ISP now cannot track me easily or by default (AFAIK), and I can now use public wifi with much more safety than before.

Using TOR with a VPN looks like a pretty solid defense against many modes of monitoring.

I liked trust.zone's service, it was fast.

But, to use my iPad (wifi only, no cellphone) without a Mac, it was MUCH easier to get and use the software with NordVPN than trust.zone.

Ease of use is very important for me, and Nord is pretty easy.  All three of my devices are now hooked up w/ NordVPN.

I paid $69 for 18 months -- I asked for a coupon by their chat, they didn't have one handy, although they are "out there" -- so their help desk gave me an extra 6 months.

So far, so good.

Honestly the author could have provided a link for each vpn service in the article.

Pure coincidence that I used on of them although I haven't payed with bitcoins.
I've run into so many vpn providers that give you a shitty speed I won't use a payment method that won't allow me to charge back.

My experience was with the last on the list:
shadeyouvpn
chosen because it was really cheap , not so many servers to choose and sometimes it hangs , but at that price it was a bargain..

Right now I'm using (not while I type here lol) ibvpn , also has bitcoin payments but I'll stick to my debit card.

Hands down, the best service provider for VPN is trust.zone, Bitcoin is most preferred payment gateway for VPN. VPN makes us untraceable, in our online life and the provider will have our details and that is a loop hole in the system but using Bitcoin for the payment will again make us anonymous.
I have used expressvpn as well as trust.zone, I would definitely promote trust.zone to everyone..

I don’t get why you guys are using paid VPN providers. I have been using the some free VPN for years and had no troubles so far. I mean why would you wanna pay? What is the difference?

It is not like they are going to suddenly do something extra and leave you alone? I am not going to suggest sticking with free VPN’s because different people will have different needs like server speed expectations.

There are ton of free VPNs, anyone could find them. But I like to suggest to do try some free ones before you end up buying one.

Ah, OK.  Please post a link or two to free VPN providers that either you have used yourself or that come highly rated.

Note that I am a beginner here, I don't know how to fool with ports (etc.).  I also need iPad access (without cellphone service nor ability to hook up to a Mac like trust.zone apparently require for iPads) as well as Windows devices.

Also I need service in foreign countries...

If any reader has used NordVPN, please tells us!  That service *may* be the right one for me.

Thanks.  Great thread.

favdesu (and others interested)

I have apparently gotten into trust.zone's free trial OK.  I should be good for three days.

Note to all:

One reason I chose trust.zone is for the free trial (to see if I was able to set it up, then use it, etc.).  trust.zone has plans with low prices and it looks like they have a reasonable number of servers scattered around.

It seems to be working OK, apparently even now.   Smiley

Great thread, thanks to all of you.

I am looking for ease of use and a good price, and do not need advanced services.  Please share any experiences w/ VPN services for beginners.
All VPN services which are supporting native OpenVPN software are easy to set up and use.

If you look for more number of IP address then hidemyass and vyprvpn will be good choices.
octanevpn and earthvpn are cheaper yet quality service providers (quality in terms of number of vpn servers and its speed and up time).

All these are accepting btc payments (positively I do see almost every vpn provider accepts btc payments).

You may choose a services based on number of simultaneous connections allowed and how many switching allowed per day.

Example : Purevpn will allow only some 100 or 150 switching per day after that they will terminate accounts after 2 or 3 warning.

Hidemyass allows only 2 simultaneous connections. They need 5 minutes gap for 3rd connection other wise they will detect as 3 simultaneous connections which may lead to account termination after few warning.

Thank you, PokerFace3.  I'll start my research with OpenVPN in mind (ease of use) as well as the more normal criteria of how many simultaneous connections, speed of service, up-time, number of countries where they have service, etc.

Happily, I have time to explore all of this, and VPN service does not appear to cost too much.  Again, thanks!

If you don't mind getting a bit technical, there's nothing stopping you installing OpenVPN on your own server or on a VPS.

Thanks for the list. Haven't tried any from the list yet.

Can someone recommend one that's got competitive prices and won't be traced by high-security sites?
Some sites can't be accessed depending on country/region, so something that can easily pass through those and won't slow down my connection. Thank You!

(I've asked in a diff thread before but it slipped my mind and can't find the thread now.  Sad )

Please refer the link below to know about VPN hosting services list with the features and usage but not about the price. You simply you can Google with the company and price.

from past untill now i only use PureVPN service. easy to use and their support always responsible and solve when i facing a problem with this VPN. and it accept bitcoin as payment too. maybe you can put it too on your list or you already try this service and want to share your experience for us

Is it possible, When plug in any VPN services in browser or VPN apps in your computer, Many of the VPN hosting plug in not accepting to logging in to bitcoin wallet sites. I think you can use Cisco VPN hosts. Its will route via different IP and It will works using tokens. I know that PureVPN also travel via DNS protocols such as PPTP, L2TP, SSTP, IKEv2.

Bitcoin is only natural for VPN services as a payment processor i just hope that more online shops will start to accept bitcoin as payments.
Like hosting services i think they will gain many users who will buy their services if bitcoin is the payment.

I prefer and recommend trust.zone.

I had a look around at various of the VPN sites and reviews, it looks like trust.zone is very competitive.

But, like so much I get into here at bitcointalk, I have to learn all of this from scratch.  How easy/difficult would you (any of you) characterize trust.zone or perhaps another VPN service.

I am looking for ease of use and a good price, and do not need advanced services.  Please share any experiences w/ VPN services for beginners.

Thanks.  Smiley
