There has always been and will always be hunger etc.

The X prize drew a lot of private investment in to the space industry so why not the search for ET.

Personally I dont trust that NASA would reveal the truth of any findings.

A private mission probe to Mars or Europa with $100 million prize is far more likely to get to the truth.

When I say alien life - I mean bacteria and up, not little green men running around anal probing earthlings Smiley

Alien probing is the only thing a few of us look forward to when the aliens come to say hello.
If they are not cross breeding or eating us,what else does that leave for them to come swing by!

I heard they are still on their way to get Mark Karpeles as they had a shit load of bitcoin in MtGox.  The incomprehensible vastness of space is just slowing them down slightly.

Those nano probes will travel 1/4 of the speed of light. That is amazing.

Don't they have some more clever way to spend their money? I don't think that they will reveal anything, even if something like alien life exists.

Why not look into our earths crust for those mole people?

Its exciting to know that their is a push for this because it means they will be searching in space and could come across some interesting dynamics to push us towards intergalactic travel. Chance of finding aliens I think may be slim due to space retracting on its self, which gives the impression that this will excel as it does so. Meaning time would be more limited and the advanced aliens are most likely dealing with that than responding to some odd S.O.S call from a backwards alien population.

Stephen hawkings, a russian billionaire, and Mark Zukkenburg have teamed up to launch an extraterrestrial project. Thoughts and info?
Source of this info? it's a waste of money imho, we got a more challenging situation on earth (hunger, climate changes, and education) and yet that big sum of money used for something that's not sure Undecided

Cool

At least we got something to look forward to outside from the typical normal news lol.

Kinda of exciting to see what money can be used for and I`d be thrilled if we do find something out there..

It's really funny that some people have so much wealth and money and don't know how to spend this funds better than on something useless for all humankind.
They may wait 100 or 1000 years to receive answer from aliens on some very fare planet but most people need help and support right now.
I don't know it's this funny or stupid news, or both.
But, I guess, it's better even to spend money in this way than for wars or weapons.
