Woah woah...just got like 10 idles on each worker in a span of a minute...
Problems again?

0 idles across 10 miners in the last 35 minutes.

What % of blocks found by btcguild have later turned out to be invalid? I need to know this so I can calculate a real figure of how much more you can expect to make with btcguild over deepbit.
In the long run, you will make 3% less at deepbit because that's how much they charge for fees. Anything else is inconclusive.
Actually the difference in fees is only 0.5% if you consider insurance against invalid blocks in both pools.

Ah yes my bad. I forgot that you paid for invalid blocks too. Well there you go.

Most of the pools are good. Just pick the one that has features that appeal to you. In the long run, the amount of BTC mined from each pool should be the same.

Donate 2.5% and you won't have to worry about it.  But to answer the question: 3 invalids so far out of 268.  Sample size is too small to draw realistic conclusions though.

My BTC Guild miners did not pick up the following 2 new blocks that were picked up by miners connected to other pools:

03/06/2011 19:10:35, long poll: new block 000002a2a5aaadae
03/06/2011 19:14:59, long poll: new block 00001239399053ae

Time zone is ET. While this was happening the pool was happily accepting a bunch of (possibly stale) work.

Was this just me or did everyone else on BTC Guild miss these 2 blocks?
As stated in my previous post, some miners which auto-reconnected to the pool may have lost their LP connection.  From what I can tell, poclbm isn't regaining the connection automatically.  Restarting the miner fixes this issue.
Ok, thanks. I wasn't sure that this was a symtom of that. I probably should auto-restart my poclbm miners every few hours to correct this type of potential problem.

Going to be adding a number of IP bans to the server over the next few hours for miners which were requesting more than 250x more work than they were sending back.

If you find yourself unable to access the website and pool, send me a PM with your username and the ban may be lifted.

Server is back up, logs were tweaked to automate some of this process.  Restarting pushpool involved a fairly long period of idles/connection errors due to the absolute flood of reconnects miners attempted for every milisecond that it was offline apparently (no reconnect delay).  Took a while to settle down, but now that it has things are going good.

Some miners -may- have lost their long poll connection, so restarting a miner briefly could fix the issue if you're not seeing any LPs issued.

thanks eleuthria. everything looking good now.

2 miners/workers of the same pool in the same GPU can work better than just one?
