what is even more ironic.. is that btcguild has slowly been getting more and more power.. from around
2100 gh/s to 2400+ gh/s and it is not helping solve more blocks in a shorter amount of time. it just
cut our payout per block :-(

I think it's because that's offset by the increase in difficulty?

back when i first started mining i would switch to a different pool when some bad luck
appeared. and half the time i would just switch to more bad luck while the pool I was on
would start getting good luck. so as soon as I leave.. we would get several blocks under
45 minutes.

Eleuthria, can we petition for a ban? Cheesy

sooo.. i am just sticking with btcguild. one or two bad days we have had.. are just evening out
the last 4-5 days where I was making a bit more then estimated.

sure switching to deepbit is always an option but for every approx 3 blocks they find all i need is 1 at
btcguild due to the speed difference of the pools. It looks like slush's pool has had better luck the
past 24 hours and our turn is sure to come shortly.

i guess i gave up trying to always get that exact estimated amount day after day. essentially
manual pool hopping.

The bad luck is getting ridiculous. I dont know why, but we always get bad luck after changing servers. Maybe we should sacrifice some young virgin to the gods before eleuthria changes a server.

I cant believe that I have not found one block yet.....  I have logged 2006803  shares.  I am very glad I am in a pool and not solo.

speaking of finding a block,  shouldn't the lucky bastard that finds the block get some kindof bonus?  whouldn't that bring more Mhash to the pool if that is advertised?

Ive found two, and I would have made double by going alone than mining in a pool. But its all theoretical, because the murphy law states that if I had gone alone I would not have found any. Maybe if you would have gone alone, you would have found some.

nah, I hate those kinds of things.  everyone was putting in work, its not like the last share is a boss of shares. Tongue

I think we are just getting some shitty luck. Other big pools are doing very well luck-wise right now. Our day will come!

alright already with these 3 hour blocks...  is this the difficulty kickin in or we just not 'lucky' enough?

edit:  just picked up 2 'vapor x 5870' from ebay.  I hope they work as well as my other ebay 5870 purchases Smiley

Anyone else lose all shares out of our round 1869?

Mine's normal for 1869, pretty much consistent with past rounds with my usual +/- 0.001 BTC rewarded range.

His cable modem probably just disconnected for parts of the previous round and all of that round.

Looking at the block details, I'm seeing nothing wrong with the block you identified.  The number of users credited with shares that round is within the expected range of users for a round of that length.  In case of a sync error, assuming the failsafe didn't catch it, you'd see roughly half as many people getting rewards, and getting twice their expected average (ie: One of the two servers didn't sync up).

My share on round 1869 on btcguild are normal, about the same proportions as other nearby rounds.

I have also received a 'normal' amount of shares

I was out of town and just got back. I could have had some other issue (internet connection).

Most likely it is my end as preceding round and following are both showing much less than I would normally get, but just wanted to double check.

Thanks for any who can confirm theirs are normal.

"Shares Since Last" - A confusing stat which wasn't all that useful has been replaced by "Estimated Shares This Round".  It is an approximation of the shares that are a part of the next announced round.

Website move is complete about 45 minutes ahead of schedule, the prep work paid off.  DNS entries have been changed.  The TTL was set to just 30 minutes, so most users should be able to access the website within the next 30 minutes unless their ISP/computer are not honoring the TTL.

Small change to the website interface.  Moved the "quick stats" box from the upper right of the page and created a statistics bar fixed to the top.

For now its just pool stats.  I have the following 3 priorities right now:

1) Move the webserver [in about 9 hours]
2) Automatic Payouts
3) Replace US West's load balancer with the setup used on US Central [next weekend]
4) Mining teams (more info on this later)
5) AJAX option for stats bar at top/personal stats.
