I think that you can invest in a bit of everything. You can certainly count and try to anticipate the behavior of the market. But you can invest a little in everything that inspires confidence. You can always allocate some budget for such adventures. Of course here from luck

I'd be careful with that "everything".

Yeah he can invest to those coins which he is comfortable with. But as I've said, I'll be a bit careful with it, doesn't mean that you are confident with it you'll likely to receive decent reward. And as you said, taking it for an adventure would really make sense on where he's going to invest including with some research.

If you just want to keep investing on the cryptos every month without cashing out in the near future then it will be the bitcoin for your preference or you can invest on the altcoins and do short term trading with it to make your profits in small intervals but it needs your effort also.
Apart from that anyone can also try staking cryptocurrencies and get dual benefits as the price appreciates. You can also try using the money to buy cryptocurrencies like NEO, KuCoin and the rest of them that pays you dividends. There are a lot of them but no need to go further cause you can easily find them. Then apart from all these things, some people, especially those that don’t want to invest money would prefer to do micro tasking.

Hey,

Looking to get some ideas from people so let me begin by explaining my situation:

- I initially invested around $3000 just over a year ago in crypto, which is now currently worth about $1000 (2/3rd loss). I've written this off/left it and am a firm believer the market will one day recover, be it short or long term.
- I then stopped investing early this year.
- I now have opportunity to save/invest $1000 each month (after all my bills and everything are paid for).
- I have $5000 saved in cash as emergency in case I need it.

How would you invest the $1000? Or would you just save it all, or only invest a bit of it each month based on market behaviour? What coins are good to look into investing slowly, with the belief they'll give the best returns if the market properly goes into a bull run?
The normal thing that most people here do is Hodling. Well, it’s good to hold but don’t hodl coins that are useless, especially ones that you’re not sure if they are going to appreciate anytime soon. If you’re going to hodl then its best to go for the ones that you’re of which are Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Monero (to mention a few). You can hodl them till they start to appreciate.

Then if you are good in technical charting or analysis, like some would say, then day trading would be a good option. There are many ways you can still earn money despite tee market is going down, just search it on google and the answers are just there waiting for you.

With that ammount monthly I will settle for trading.  Learn it well and know when to buy the dip and sell the pump. I will also short Bitcoin,  trade it and make mote profit

At present market being down will invest in some altcoins and btc now as once the market pick up the momentum it would be giving me the best returns and quick too. So would not like to miss this opportunity and might be it can ride like last year and in trading you would sell just making some profit and might not get the benefit of the huge rise.

If you asking me what will do to 1000 dollars it's better to do right now because market down and most of the coin decrease the value and you are lose money because of that better if you buy again cryptocoin because for sure it will increase again the market and you will gain more money on that.

Honestly, for long term hold, bitcoin seems to be the thing. Sure, a lot of people may say there is a need to diversify, but as things are going right now, I still find it pretty hard to find altcoins to be diversifying into until I basically start seeing something substantial in them when it comes to the usage of their product if they have one at all.

Certainly, at this stage, the market is highly speculative and there is no doubt about that, but when it comes to having your mind at rest, even if you want to invest in altcoins, you should be putting more percentage into bitcoin and lesser percentage into altcoins you have basically studied to know there is a chance for possible future.

Well I would like to invest 500$ in some off line business, I will save 200$ in cash and would like to invest 300$ to buy BTC or BCH. By looking at the condition of your investment this is the best possible solution that I have for myself (if it is me).
There are chances that market will recover one day and you will recover your loss but it does not mean that you invest more and what if it does not recover early then your loss will be more.

If I were you, I would only invest a portion of my saving into bitcoin (probably 10-20% of saving), because I don't want to lose everything overnight.

The strategy that I would use if I were in your shoes is that I will save that money and I will wait until the market crashed and gave me the opportunity to buy coins for a very low price, as you may guess if I had that kind of money I will choose this very moment to invest in the market, probably I will choose to invest in ethereum because for what I can see it is the coin that has crashed the most among the top coins.

HODL is the key to wealth
From the $1000 a month I would stash $500 in the bank and put $500 in Bitcoin.  Hodl and see where it ends up 1,2, and 3 years from now.

My personal opinion is to choose 2-3 good altcoin and invest, keep a bitcoin part. Because your money is saving, you can determine your target profit without too much pressure.

Bitcoin is always the number one when it comes to this kind of situation. So I will advise you to invest your money in Bitcoin, cause when bull run comes, it is always sure for Bitcoin that the price will increase. Altcoins follows Bitcoin move and sometimes they don’t, and they might even continue to fall when Bitcoin is rising cause every investor will be focused on Bitcoin then, so invest maybe $1000 dollars in Bitcoin.
It is true that bitcoin has always been the right place to invest, but after yesterday's price decline, I think you will begin to feel hesitant to invest. If you feel confident to continue your investment at least do it with money without regret.
Starting an investment with a doubt, it's not good. Even though they use money which they relinquish when losses come. One day he will be disturbed by bitcoin price movements and begin to saturate with frequent volatility, so they come out with an angry heart and spread a negative issue to the people closest to him about investing in cryptocurrency. Actually, it's not something that we want, cryptocurrency must be recognized by everyone as a place for a decent investment for them. Eventually, trying hard to find out the ins and outs of cryptocurrency and then start investing so that there is no doubt that will make someone deceived in the future.

This will be more likely for you to decide, on this I mean will you want to make money on long or short term. But it could be good to play 50-50, investing one half in some safe and long term investments and one half in something that can be potentially good pick with some good chances to have good profit.
I will also say the same thing, best to divide the money 50/50 and go for Bitcoin. If there is no other investment you can go for, then you can save the other part of the money, there is no need to risk all in cryptocurrency. There are other investments just like real estate. A lot of people make money through that and that’s the next thing I wish to go for cause lots of my friends who are investing in real estate are really making it.

do not use emergency funds for investment because this is wrong and look for other funds or additions that I often refer to as free money and this you can use for investment, my investment portfolio is bitcoin and some altcoins like ripple, ethereum, ADA and XVG, how much percentage of each of these coins depends on you doing further research and the investment is important and will not harm you in the future

I believe this is a good time to buy because every major coin become their 1/3 1/5 etc. So they have a great room to grow. But I cannot really tell because we still are in a bear market, if bitcoin drops a little more altcoins will go down too. Check the market, decide yourself.
