Waves is a good coins and have a high value than ripple. IT is best to spend more on waves than XRP. Waves has a smart contract and the fees that is generated will make your investment increase.
Put the fifty percent on ethereum, and spread the rest over ripple, neo, ada, ont, and a few other coins that you feel confident about, maybe that is the best way to increase your entire budget in four to ten months maybe.
Great investment idea. Waves and XRP are all great coins to invest for a long term. The waves will likely be more in value than XRP within a period of 6 months. Waves seems to be volatile than XRP and hence , the value of waves moves higher than XRP.
I agree that waves is better than XRP. Well, I just don't like that XRP is being a centralized coin, but of course these two coin be great in the future. If i have to spend my $10k for sure I will never forget to hold bitcoin and eth and the rest, I will choose great altcoins to hold for in long term.

Ripple most people who are die hard fans of crypo dislike as its not really decentralised, that said it has a large user base for the Ripple network (Not necessarily the XRP token however)

I have the same question. As for me, there are too many better altcoins to invest 10 thousand in them. First of all, deal at least with ten cryptocurrencies. Secondly, pay attention and NEO, Komodo and Ethlend
My suggestion for $10000 is :
1. xrp : i said no for this coin. I agree if xrp have good fundamental growth but it is so centralised crypto.
2. Waves : i agree if you put decent ammount to waves because the price istill relatively under value.
3. Ethereum : i will suggest you to buy more ethereum because it is not break $600 and possibly can goes up more.
4. Essentia : the best ico for next month and the product really worked good.

you should be able to differentiate and buy some stable asset like bitcoin and then someone very speculative. To speculate I recommend news entry daostack and genesis vision
Wouldn't be a good idea to invest around $10,000 on just two coins. Better to spread your investment on more coins that are popular. This way you will be spreading out your risks, thus reducing the chances of suffering huge losses.
I would recommend you to invest on XRP though. Would be way better to choose Stellar over ripple.

I think you should start by researching the market and take your time to get familiar with the different coins out there before you spend them. I think dividing your portfolio between 2 coins equally is a gambling strategy. Always diversify by investing in more coins to minimize the risks. I'd recommend some coins like ($HPB , $NEO , $GEN , $NCASH , $BIX)
Waves is ok choice but why would you want to buy xrp? This coin shouldn't give you any good profit, devs can easily dump it if they want to. I would suggest you to diversify your portfolio with more promising coins that have a lot of space to grow( You should find good projects by yourself in which you will believe) And yes always hold a little bit of BTC in your bags in case of its pump to buy more alts at bottom and then sell them again to BTC

Looks very risky for me to divide money just for 2 coin. Both have issues in the past, XRP almost 90% coins controlled buy developers but still can make a good profit up to 10x. Waves have good time and platform but horrible marketing, potential around 2-5x. $5000 in XRP

Make sure you diversify. If one of the projects go bust, another one performing at 50% return will only break even.

I am completely overwhelmed with your coin picks, but why? There's a lot of good coin out there that need to be invested, i think there is no problem with waves, its okay to invest there, but i doubt with XRP its more centralized coin. why not chose some others like BTC, ETH GEN, CS and the rest of the good coins. I think divide your invest able money to some others which has a good platform and has a future, sticking to few is not good all the time, as such as they said, put your eggs into different baskets., so it much more better to apply this principle of investing.
Go ahead and make a study, opportunities are already there, it is just need to be studied.

$10,000 for capital in trading is very big amount and I think you can buy atleast to 5-10 altcoins. I suggest add to your list these longterm like ethereum ,litecoin, dash, monero, and also the coin in your list which are ripple and waves coin and for sure you will grow your money.

Why just invest in 2 coins? With that amount of money, you can pay for both BTC and ETH. ETH price is recovering, granting you the chance to invest in many many other new ICO's coin
A really high amount for $ 10,000 can be done by folding it up to 100k, or you can lose it in your hand for 1-2k. Waves and Ripple understand that you have your favorite crypto money, but I think you should add bitcoin, etheraum and a few solid subcoins into these investments.
