Well I'm mining again but that was a weird little 15 minute outage. Things seem to be normal now

Edit: and back up, but not showing worker speed.

Everything just went idle on me and I'm getting connection timed out and ran out of work errors. Website doesn't seem to be tracking any mining either.

Appears something is amiss. All the miners I have are down, and if you look at the stats page, they're not mining anything anywhere.

Doc, have you made any progress on finding a solution to the excessive stale Namecoin blocks?
Namecoin has some nasty bugs and it may be a bumpy ride until they get fixed. I don't have time to work on namecoin. Bitminter is a lot of work by itself. But namecoin has some new developers now - hopefully they can fix it.

Not completely certain about that one, maybe doc can elaborate on it. I will definitely ask the other guy about it. I have 4 v2 blades and it shows ~40-44 GH/s but I did a little experiment and set my minimum to 4 and checked the proxy about an hour later and it showed a diff of 32 so it was being adjusted automatically, only thing is when my wife started streaming Netflix on the tv and I started loading the network it dropped to 16. So if you want to keep it above a certain number set it to that.
I will say this, slush's proxy with the midstate compiled is faster than bfg miner in proxy mode. Slush's I average 41 GH/s, BFG Miner I averaged 35 GH/s, big difference in my opinion.

In case this got missed, just wana be sure I'm looking a this right even though I guess you'd have to be sort of dumb to not understand take x and divide by 1.4.
I've seen other sites say to take your hash and multiple by 1.4
Ex: 10 x 1.4 = 14
I believe with a difficulty of 14 and 10 GH/s, you'd be submitting roughly 12 shares per minute. Your stats would be a little bit more inaccurate on the website, but you would save a bit more bandwidth. I've seen other sites say to take your hash and multiple by 1.4

So when you enter the difficulty, you are entering a minimum difficulty.

Where can I find a explanation on worker settings. I just turned on the notification if one of my workers goes below a certain threshold but I see other settings in there and don't really understand them.

General advice, set your minimum difficulty to your hashrate in GH/s divided by 1.4. Some info on difficulty and work submits per minute:

What aggravates me is when someone comes along and has this awesome idea and thinks it can be done with no problems.
When people feel that way about something, I invite and encourage them to do it themselves. Usually they will not try. If they do try, they will probably fail, but they will learn something. If they try and succeed, we all benefit.
If you are refering to me being aggravated about that, I am a system admin for microsoft, and linux servers so I get that type of "let's do this" a lot, usually from the ones who know nothing about how the system works.
I.T. - No one knows you exist until something breaks, even if it isn't your fault.
