I just kept buying more AM usb sticks.  it is more hash and at .93btc for 1gh not a terrible price.

You mean 0.325btc? Wink

The luck graph here:
https://bitminter.com/stats/luck
seems a bit skewed lately...  Undecided

I get my sticks at .31 btc 3 sticks are .93btc and just  about   1gh in hash. Still managing a 54 stick farm soon to be a 124 stick farm is not too easy.

 A lot better then 22 gpus and 11 pc's.

BFL was so slow to ship I ended up with the usb sticks.

I paid  .95 btc each  for 36 of them

I paid .15btc for 30 of them.

 I paid .31btc for 70 of them.

And the other 34 prices as high as  145 dollars and as low as 48 dollars.   I purchased 170 all told and sold  44?   that comes out to 126 left and I have 124 so I am off by 2 on my count.

Firstbits: Compromised. Thanks, Android!
That block just found by Sailermin was done with a 1.1G difficulty share. I hope we never see such a difficulty!

It's inevitable that we will. The way things are going, I'd say we see it in only 4-5 months.

(Hmm, new poll/bet... will we reach 1 billion difficulty before Jan. 1, 2014? I'd put money on 'Yes'.)

The Rewards graphs show it as well, perhaps even better:  https://bitminter.com/stats/rewards

Ah well, such is life.  It could turn around and we find 12 blocks in 4 hours, you never know.  I'm sticking around, at least with the hope that DrHaribo gets worker idle notifications working soon!

I have a 3/31 Jalapeno that I did recently upgrade to 7 and I'm pretty sure by the time it gets to me I might be able to use it to warm a mug of coffee. That was a serious jump and we currently seem to be without WhitePhantom and CloudHashing  Undecided
Is that just firmware ?

No, I purchased the chip upgrade to 7Gh/s. I believe the firmware you're talking about is what is allowing people with 7Gh/s units to hash near or at 8Gh/s. Which still won't be worth a darn by the time is actually arrives.
Or ... those with 5.4GH/s to do 8.1GH/s ... as I did.
http://www.kano-kun.net/?p=70

The upper limit depends on the chips in your Jalapeno ... but no, the point of that is to go from 5GH/s up to higher rates ... like 8GH/s

The one Jalapeno-overclocking thread I read was pretty good. I would love to do it, but considering I don't have any of the equipment (and little experience actually dealing with electronics) I don't think I'd actually be able to recover the cost of the effort, even with the extra hashing power! *sigh*

I'd hate to deal with the risk of that much variance with difficulty increasing so much every retarget.

I used to think this way until I asked organofcorti about the topic of mining with difficulty increasing.

Difficulty increasing only creates more variance, you will still trend to 100% over time. Just a longer period of time.

Pool luck has been abysmal over the past 4 days; I suspect some have had enough and have gone off to 'greener pastures'. The grass is always greener on the other side ... as the saying goes. Until you get there.

I'm still pointing hashpower here, though I can't say I'm happy with this bout of bad luck. I just may have to find and dust off my lucky rabbit's foot. Although I'm thinking it wasn't particularly lucky for the rabbit ...

Bitparking has an excellent Android app that does idle notifications.

Tnx! That was good info. Wink

Sorry to have left for now.  It was because idle notifications have not yet been implemented here.

It saved my bacon about 2 hours after I left, too...My host machine at KC MO Colo dropped its Internet connection for some unknown reason.  10 minutes (I'd prefer 5...) after it went offline, BTCGuild notified me that they had not received any shares from me.  I called the data center and it was back up in 5 minutes.  I'd have probably suffered 3 hours of downtime before noticing had I not received the automated notification.

When idle notifications are implemented, I will be back.  I love BitMinter!
Bitparking has an excellent Android app that does idle notifications. Just giving you options so you don't have to give your hashrate to an already extremely bloated pool. Tongue
I appreciate the suggestion, but they're only 4.3 TH, so I'd be almost 1/3 of the pool.  I'd hate to deal with the risk of that much variance with difficulty increasing so much every retarget.

Disagreements and arguments that end in apologies, forgiveness, and reconciliation from both parties? I thought we were on the internet. WTF is this shit?
Hilarious!  This would make a great signature.

Yeah looks like they are pool hopping while the luck is bad...  Or is should say WAS bad.  Wink  we'll be back at it - just normal variance.

You can't pool hop away from bad luck in a pool that isn't vulnerable to hopping. The bad luck already happened, it's too late to hop.

In a pool with a proportional reward system you can, but not here.

Oh, I definitely agree - I learned that lesson a long time ago.  Wink  But the fact that they both left during the run of bad luck makes me think that's what they are doing.

That's the thing about bad luck, it follows you to the next pool. Smiley
