Well the day has finally arrived my ASICS from Butterfly labs are preparing to ship. When they arrive will the latest updatable client work or do i need to use the beta client?

Glad to hear they finally got in gear Smiley
Maybe in first gear.

So far they are only shipping Jalapenos.

With davidspitzer's order they are now starting to fulfill the July 2012 orders for them.

Still yet to ship anything larger than a Jalapeno.

Hi everyone !
After trying to find how the hell to post on the forums... getting the 4h on the newbie forum, I can finally post here.

I've been mining for about a month now on bitminter, at maybe 0,5Gh (Still trying to improve my hashrate, all tips are welcome), and I Just wanna say thx for Dr Haribo for making mining so easy with the bitminterclient, keep the good job !

you can trade rather than mining Smiley unfortunately i came late to the party and it's the early adopter's market now as far as ASIC investment goes... unless you have spare USD 30-40k lying around i wouldn't venture into mining equipment... believe me i have yet to get back my ROI on these blades and ROI just keeps getting extended due to fast rising insane difficulty... when i was buying my blades i was looking at 125 days ROI but soon once the diff hits 15mill i'm set back by another 40 days (160 days) so unless bitcoin recovers to healthy levels i'll just have to keep mining and mining to just get back what i put in...  Grin

Other than that, my last 2 days at BitMinter have been nice and smooth, and I do like the GUI - very sleek, and the enhanced NMC payout is a nice addition.
I hope my 1GH/s helps ( until my ASICs arrive, then I hope my 33GH/s help Cheesy )

I'm jealous.  Wish I had access to funds to obtain power like this!  Meanwhile it's just my 1.3 GH GPU miner.
But yes, 21 blocks in a day has been one of the best days on here.

welcome! so you ordered erupter blades? in case you need help with stratum setup i can share my settings... i had better stability with this pool compared to 50btc and slush was reporting my hashrate way lower... plus merged mining is a big bonus to me...

Hiya - I just joined BitMinter after Slush's started to have reward issues, and I have just a couple of questions.
FYI, there's also a Bitminter client support thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitminter-client-windowslinuxmac-31163

Hiya - I just joined BitMinter after Slush's started to have reward issues, and I have just a couple of questions.

1) I am having to use GUIMiner, as for some reason the BitMinter client doesn't work properly on my machine. I don't know why, I have a fresh Java installation, a fresh BitMinter client installation too. It runs fine, but as soon as I try to start mining, it just closes.
It's not much of an issue, as I am fine with running CGMiner thru GUIMiner, but I do like the front end of the BitMinter client, and would like to give it a go.
Do you have any idea why it wouldn't work?
(Windows 8 64bit, 64bit Java client)

2) My 2 GPUs seem to only run at about 89-90% of maximum on BitMinter - yet on Slush's, one ran at a constant 99%, and the other at 93-98%.
Again, is there any way to tweak it to get maximum constant output?

Other than that, my last 2 days at BitMinter have been nice and smooth, and I do like the GUI - very sleek, and the enhanced NMC payout is a nice addition.
I hope my 1GH/s helps ( until my ASICs arrive, then I hope my 33GH/s help Cheesy )

I've just release v2.6 of my MPoolMonitor app.  Only reason I'm posting it here is because it has two features that I've seen people request for this pool

1 - idle worker notification via email
2 - an average hashrate per worker to normalize the jumping around hashrates this pool feeds

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/mpoolmonitor-42-monitors-most-pools-idle-worker-notification-blockchaininfo-86502

See my post for details on idle worker notification.  Basically I know it works with gmail, I know it does not currently work with Verizon's email servers.

Update: Seems like Cloudflare had an outage today, which is when our problems started. Cloudflare is the content delivery network BitMinter uses. All traffic to our website goes through them. After they fixed their issue we got slammed with over 50 000 connections on the web server. Not sure if it was DDoS or what it was. But we got enough connections and requests to make the server slow and unresponsive.

At least things are back to normal. I apologize for the website downtime.

Is pool server down?

No, website and mining service are both running.

Hopefully the website should be stable now. A couple days ago I worked around the bug that was causing the lockups. Then I hit another one of their bugs, but it just makes the server respond more slowly after a while. Hopefully they fix that. But until then I can just restart the web server every few days to avoid slow response.

I've been working on the mining server as well. More info on that soon.
