There's an issue with the mining server. I'm in touch with the data center, trying to resolve this ASAP.

And sorry for my delay! Shortly after posting I paused my miners and upon restarting them everything started going again. I didn't noticed it was disconnected right away but once I did I only seemed to be out for maybe 2 minutes.

I cant honestly recommend using the same computer to browse, surf or whatever you do online, that you use to log on to pools, wallets, or exchanges.  It only takes one download to fk up your world.  I downloaded a trojan, just about fkd me really good.  I noticed the trojan before my antivirus did.  I now open my email up only on that one computer.  Ive spent just about what I lost on security and new computers and hard drives, etc.  I still view my one computer infected, till my new ssd gets here.

bitminter has been totally hacked.
On 3 different occasions, I have logged to find my payout address changed.
Worst security EVER!!!!

The pool has not been hacked. So the "worst security ever" must be somewhere else.

If your computer has been compromised you need to wipe everything. Back up your documents (not programs!) and reinstall the operating system. Then, logging in from a clean computer, change the password on every website you use.

It's a good idea to enable 2-factor authentication as a security measure. See instructions here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.4892396

Note that 2-factor auth will not save you if your computer has been compromised. It only makes the job a little bit more difficult for the hacker.

You MUST keep your computer secure. There is no way to make it safe to log in using a compromised computer. If you do online banking with malware on your computer, then your bank account can be cleaned out. Yes, even with 2-factor authentication. When you are typing in the one-time passwords/codes you are giving them to the hacker who is controlling your computer.

Hey everyone.  I'm pretty new to this but I've been mining using Bitminter for about a month now and I've been having a ton of fun with it.  Just this week I downloaded and installed some updates to my windows 7 and (I have no idea if this is related) now Bitminter seems not to be running my gear.  I have a Butterfly labs little sc and a bunch of block eruptor ASICS that it will identify but when I try to start them up nothing happens.  They show properly both in my Devices and printers as well as in Bitminter.

Is anyone having the same problem?  Has anyone dealt with this problem in the past?  I've tried unplugging everything, plugging it back in, shutting down and starting to computer back up again a few times and nothing seems to work.  Any help or advice would be much appreciated.  Thanks guys!

Worst security EVER!!!!

Cheesy to that day BitMinter is the only pool I know about that never has been hacked. One reason may be that the OP is a security pro. So show some evidence or stfu.

that guy has downloaded a lot of new coin wallets . I read his last 10 or 15 posts.  More then likely he downloaded some bad crap.  This is why I run btc and ltc only.

There have been more then 4 bad coins with bad downloads  designed to rob all your good wallets.  His best bet is to pull his hdd and toss it then do a fresh install and only mine btc and ltc.

He also needs to make up a few usb keys so that he can click and drag new passwords into his important sites.  This will stop most key reading programs.

For someone new to the AntMiners could anyone offer insight as to why

bfgminer.exe –set-device antminer:clock=x0781 -o http://mint.bitminter.com:3333 -u USERNAME_WORKER -p PASSWORD -G -S antminer:all
I have mine set to:
Code:
bfgminer -S all --set-device antminer:clock=x0981 --icarus-options 115200:2:2

Though I did not perform the mod and do not clock mine as high, I went based on this page:
http://miningonmyown.com/2014/01/19/antminer-u1-mod/

I  average about 2246.294 MH/s with those settings.

Doesn't seem to be doing much of anything?

I think if I add a -S eruptor:all then BFGMiner will see the Block Eruptors too? And which version of BFG should I be running? A mess like this is what led me to BitMinter in the first place. This client is just so straightforward!

any proof to this?

I just checked mine, and it's fine.

I've been mining here for years and never been hacked. Which Open ID are you using? Are you using a lame password like "abc123"?
Maybe you got hacked by downloading some software? Did you really download a wallet for a coin that had it's own pre-mined genesis coins stolen?  Roll Eyes

Website/server went down?  Result...I'm punished on blocks 08:53 & 12:28 which will take 30+ hours to make up.  Lost .001 per block paid.  That's a lot for a 60 gh/s miner.  I understand having problems and fixing them, but I don't like suffering the consequences for 30+ hours.

You are not punished.  I mean unless everyone else could get to the mining server and you were the only one unable to, then yes you would be punished, as you did not contribute equally.  If no one can get to it, then no one is contributing and your contribution will be equal to everyone else's.  Now, if you did not get your mining backup, that started with the mining server being down, for several hours after it was backup, that is still not the Pool's issue.  We all have to run hardware and scripts for that.  I donate enough to turn on active notifications and I have a backup pool configured on everything.  I am not better than you, but I did learn my share, from these experiences.  You are not punished, but this is a learning experience.  Prepare for as many outages as you can.  If you have Terahashing levels, have a second Internet connection and backup pool for your backup pool.

Me? I have a UPS, an* SNMP controlled power strip and RPI w/ MinePeon configured with a backup pool.  I am always mining, somewhere, unless my Internet goes out. I am trying to think of a cheap way to deal with that.

EDIT: *Reads better with an than a.

We lost a lot of mining power from Bitminter because of these glitches and this unlucky block I think. Down from 440TH to 350TH!

Funny when the server locked, my client and machine did also, I was in the block screen and that block said 99.9% last night, I left it all alone did not reboot gave up and went to bed, with all my usb sticks glowing green. I wake up and the machine and miners are all working away Huh? On same block but back to 8xx% or so...

Bad dreams never end, neither does this block. turn it into a orphan and move on -- yesterday...
