I'm running 1060's because they are more comparable to RX570's in terms of power consumption and cost of the card.

On my 1060's I get 22 MH/s using 70 Watts per card, on my RX570 I'm getting 25 MH/s using 105 watts per card.

I've got my Palit GeForce GTX 1060 DUAL 6GB to 23.5 MH/s at 115 watts.

But for me I stuck with 22 MH/s using 70 Watts as I live in the UK and electricity is not cheap here.

My favourite card is a 1060 6gb. At 70 watts pumping out 25 MH/s, there's nothing better. The cards I "like" best are the 1070 ti's. 31.5 MH/s @ 49-50 degrees but at around 120 watts. So no brainer for me if power is of any concern.

I have a similar question and a doubt, so please advise:

Since Eth is soon to be POS, I plan on starting with Zcash (and any other Nvidia prefered algo).

I have I3 Sandy Bridge with 8GB Ram and a Single slot PCI Motherboard (I want to buy bigger GPU so I can use my existing PC) but if more smaller GPUs are a better profit I would make a RIG.
I want to make profit in a short run (I don't plan to save coins, except if I must).

I have these offers, the prices are a bit high these days since the hype:

GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1070 8GB G1 GAMING = 560e
Gainward GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5 192bit PCIe = 300e
EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW GAMING ACX 3.0 8GB = 580e
Gainward GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 8GB GDDR5 256bit = 600e
ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti ROG Poseidon Platinum 11GB GDDR5X 352bit PCIe = 940e

What would you do in my stead? 1 x 1080ti or more of the lesser ones?

Thanks!

Hello guys,

Can you please give me a quick advice. What should i buy for my rig GTX 1060 or 1070 for the below prices.
I can have 8x 1060 or 6x 1070 for the same money.

GTX 1060 Windforce OC 6GB DDR5 192-bit -> 350 euro

GTX 1070 Windforce OC 8GB DDR5 256-bit*** -> 500 euro

*** not in stock

BR,
The chosen one Smiley

Yes. Do not confuse: NVIDIA GTX 1700 is different from Quadro FX 1700. This onde, as said, is more than a decade old. Its useless for mining.

Correction of my previous post: PowerDraw is 65%. Not 80.

There is no such card as a GTX 1700? Do you mean GTX 1070?

I had the same thoughts, so bought all of them. Here are the comparisons on EWBF mining Equihash in my test rig. Hope this helps.

1080TI, 174W, 632 Sol/s, 3.63 Sol/W (Pwr limited to 60%)

1070, 147W, 460 Sol/s, 3.13 Sol/w Eff (Pwr limit: 100%)

1060 3GB, (Hyncrap) 109W, 300 Sol/s, 2.72 Sol/W (Pwr limit: 100%)

This is with Core +100 / Mem +500 running.

You forget about GTX1080. It gives from 560 to 610 Sol/s depending on GPU OC and model at 3.2-3.3 Sol/W effeciency. So it's probably the best solution for equihash algo

good earnings for nvidia  1700 is it nVidia Quadro FX 1700 is a complete name what exactly gpu name?
Because just i am just curious i just saw the price is honestly really cheap from amazon but why its 430€ each..
Just wanted to clarify because i just found 50 dollar in amazon just copy paste the nvidia 1700 in amazon but i saw 50 dollar graphics card..

The Quadro FX 1700 is about 10 years old. Maybe better for Microsoft Word than mining.

probably a 1060 for eth.

but i love 1070's. They can mine nearly anything profitably.

If i was building something new right now it'd be 1070's or 1080 ti.
I was planning to buy if what is good 1070 or 1080 ti what do you think could be more profitable.. since i have free electricity so its not a problem if the gpu is eating more electricity. . What do you think much better to get profitable in terms of cheaper.. ?

Hello.
My config is:

Asrock ProBTC+
PSU: 1200w Platinum
4Gb Memory
Intel Pentium
Samsung SSD 240gb
6* NVIDIA 1700 (+100 / +720) - Gigabyte - 430€/each
PowerDraw: 80%
Electricity Cost: 0,20€

Mining On NiceHAsh
ETH: +- 190 MH
ETH +Decred: 170 MH/ 5.38Gh
Zcash: 2.57 kH/s
ROI? 8/9€ day.. Forget it... Mine for fun... waiting for the 10k BTC

late to arrive here, but aren't most if not all new 1060 models equpped with hynix memory which has a lower hash rate compared to 1060s made with samsung? with that in mind, it seems that 1060s aren't a good choice if they are only going to do 14-16 mh/s out of the box. maybe 18-19 if OCed. 1070s, while more expensive, would give you better efficiency

better take 1080ti   Cool
cause it is very close to performance of 2x 1070 for a cheaper price and you will save on other stuff like MB, RAM, CPU, SSD

so in case for the farm consist from 6 x 1080ti - you'll need 12x 1070 and x 2 more for all that stuff case, ram an so on
also, important question is the place for the farm, 1080ti will just need 2x less

seriously, I have 3 pcs x 1080ti and I want to take another 1 unit when right time will will come to sell my SIGT  Cool
for power supply if you are ok on electronics grab server PSU and combine it with any cheap PSU for 300W for you cpu and mb
or you may buy modded server PSU - it is ready just plug and go

You still need a regular PSU to power the motherboard, CPU etc though.

Not true. Some server PSUs already come with the 24-pin atx power cable and 6-pin cpu power. Actually, most server PSUs sold for mining already include this, you just need to find the right one that matches your power consumption. But definitely go and aim for server PSUs if youre in this for the long run. Server PSUs are cheaper in terms of SRP and have better power efficiency (most are rated 80+ platinum).

Like these from the same supplier even: http://www.parallelminer.com/product/160watt-24pin-atx-power-module-included-sata-molex-cpu-power-connectors-bypass-your-atx-power-supply-entirely/ They do a 180W but these do the trick for my rigs.

right now im not considering the 1050ti because some say it can only do 100 sols on zec miners. Zec will be my alternative once eth goes POS

Some say 100, and i say 145 with 77% power and no OC whatsoever. I am using 3 zotac 1050 ti mini`s and this is the most stable setting i`ve found. If i try to OC for even +30 on the gpu, one of the cards crashes after 10-20 minutes.

so i've found running 750w evga power supply to be loud and pushed a lot of heat itself running 6 x 1060's. the system runs so much cooler and quieter using a 1000w corsair power supply. since i have these machines in the kitchen, noise was quite an issue for me.

my 6x1060 undervolted setup consumes a total of 550w of power including the system itself. I occasionally see spikes hit 570, but most of the time it hangs out between 550-560.

i am quite curious on the 1070's power/heat as well. doesn't anyone have the numbers on a 1070 setup? total wattage wise?

answered my own question

Like i said. i have rly cheap electricity. rly rly cheap. i can get any gpu for good price.

1060 6gb 3 coolers    275e
1070 8gb                  around 420e
1080 ti                     around 710e
motherboard 70-90
cpu 40
ram 25-30

psu 100-210

ssd 40-60

riser 8e

so its pretty all good price for me.

so u think good 750w like corsair rmx 750 can push   6   1060?  ssd use like 3w.

If you dropped the power on all the cards they're still pulling 100 watts each with the risers. Add CPU/MOBO and you're close 700. I wouldn't want to be running that close to max. You could probably get away with an 850 but I find the systems performs better with more head room than that.
